Thank you for your always so helpful videos. I had one question. If you don't have external sharing enabled, and you use the image URL for 'People in the org with the link can edit' will the image not render correctly? Is the only option to use 'Anyone with the link'? Thank you for your assistance!

Hi J.C. Perhaps I do not understand the question. Are you trying to share externally while it is disabled?

@@SharePointMaven In your video, you mentioned to be sure to copy the image URL using "Anyone with the link". However, that option is not available in our tenant, because external sharing is disabled. I'm finding that the image I'm trying to use is not displaying in the app launcher. I'm wondering if it's because of the way I have to copy the image path/URL. Thank you so much for your assistance!

@@SharePointMaven I apologize! I just noticed that I somehow commented on the wrong video. I had been watching the video where you were covering adding a tile to the app launcher!

@@JsFavorites2012 Hi J.C. Strange. If this is for internal users, Anyone with the link should not be used - People in your org should be sufficient. Hard for me to provide guidance, need to see this.

Hello, I am looking to make my SharePoint site a template and see that you talk about group sites not being able to do that. However, I am not able to determine if my site was created under Office 365 groups or not but I am not able to save my site as a template. How would you suggest creating a site template for future projects?
@SharePointMaven

Modern Sites in SharePoint Online cannot be templatized out of the box. At the moment, you need custom code/scripting to make it happen.

So helpful - as always...my question is...what if your group already has a pre-existing Sharepoint site that cannot be moved (for legal reasons) and now I want to create an Outlook group for us? Can you link it somehow to the existing site? Thanks!
@SharePointMaven
@SharePointMaven Год назад
Thanks for the feedback. The only way you can connect an existing site to Outlook if the site is a modern team site that was created without a group attached. Then you can connect it to M365 Group and get "Outlook" as a result

@@SharePointMaven Thanks for the prompt reply! I will ask our IT team about this and hopefully make it work - our existing Sharepoint site is NOT attached to a group right now to my knowledge. 👍

So if you're looking just to have an online container for documents, make a site, but if it's group collaboration, make a group.

Correct, Adam. This post also explains the different sites/templates we have: sharepointmaven.com/4-types-of-sites-in-sharepoint-online/
