IKR! I work in a hospital and run the lottery pool. Its $2 per person every time we play and we have 45 people in the pool. The 45th person in the pool is one of our deceased nurses 2 small children, the nurse was in our pool when she passed away 😪 so we pay for her ticket with w/e small winnings we get each week. We've been playing with this group since jan 2016 and only play when the MegaMillions or PowerBall is over about $140 million. I keep a list of peoples "paid ahead balance" and an "owes balance" on my phone in the "notes" and send out a list I make up every game with everyone's name and the date of game and they can see if there is a "paid"next to their name ..I send this this list and a pic of the tickets via text message the evening of the game. Since we've had this steady pool we have had 2 people at different times drop out for w/e reason and I've said "u sure?.. u really sure?" "Ok, your spots gone then bc I have people waiting to join. " I think they would have a hard time trying 2 claim suit of our pool after dropping out and their name NOT showing on our list anymore.
@@Yardidol, ehh, we only play when its over about $150 million so it would always be about $1.5 mill/person after taxes or more. For the cost of $2 and u times your chances by 45, ntb
I had to wholeheartedly think about this one. At first I thought, they should not have given her anything, after all she passed on the opportunity twice. But then I remembered the woman said to her " if you don't play, we WILL win." The Universe heard those words and acted accordingly based on the fact that the next employee didn't play. After 8 years, they'd finally won, thanks to her. So whatever they gave her, was in thanks.
A couple years ago I was apart of a lottery pool at work. it was myself and 4 other co workers a total of five people. We would put $2.00 a piece in for a total of $10.00 dollars and we would get 5 picks on one ticket. After I purchased the ticket with 5 picks on it, I would take a picture of it and texed it to the other 4 group players, therefore, there were no discrepancies at all.
That lady got so lucky...Most do Not share...People need to Stop opting out of office /club pools etc...They have a good chance of winning and that means those who don't chip in won't get any. God bless them more for doing this. :))
@@dougplein6075 Lmao. The only reason you left that original comment was so you could flex. Lmao. And really? Did you do all all on your own? All by your itty bitty self?! Aww. We're so proud of you! The only reason you could possibly be so salty after winning that kind of money is if you've already blown it all and are bitter now. Lmao.
My friend had some lottery tickets that I offered to get checked for her and she refused. At first I was confused then I realized she didn't trust me. It never would have concurred to me that she would steal my winnings if I won.I trusted her honesty, clearly she didn't trust mine.
My wife always buys the office tickets at her work. I go with her every time and buy one myself. She buys one as well and gives it to me. She then tells her co workers what she did and they've always been OK with it.
those other winners they talked about at the hospital .... WTseriousF ?!?! You won TWENTY MILLION EFFING DOLLARS ! How much do you need before you realize .. " hey... I don't need to work in this building full of death and disease among people who keep suing me" ?!?!?!
Then spend the money on medical research or fund your own hospital or do any one of MANY ways you could help people much more efficiently than putting yourself through being an employee of a hospital.
If you have a job where you love what you do, then you're not really working. It doesn't feel like an obligation. If that's where they really WANT to be---and serve the community that way then no amount of money can stop them.
Talk about poverty consciousness! What balanced person would keep working for someone else after they win the lottery? Smart thing is to start your OWN business!
They musta liked her a LOT! I cant imagine anyone actually ACCEPTING such a gift, though, to tell you the truth! She owes them, BIG TIME! SO, I hope no one puts her on the spot like, "You owe us/me. I want my money back"! If they ever have a fall out! Things like that could/DO happen. Like, when the money's gone & a big expense or illness comes up! The very reason I would choose to acknowledge their exceptional generosity & kindness but, decline. I recognize that there are still those bumps in the road & would choose that good insurance to avoid them...
Always get copies made of all of the lottery numbers purchased and hand out the copies to co-workers. This way if someonewins with their own purchased lottery tickets, nothing said.
Technically she shouldn't get sht, Tough luck, she had her chance. These ladies went above and beyond for this girl. they probably pitched in and gave her 10-15 K total
*Thank you so much Ole Fella, I will play these numbers on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. I believe God blessed me to win the jackpot of Lotto. God bless you.*
Good that they shared the money, she was supposed to be in but obviously could not do it, that's how it's done. But if you win, run for the hills, and make a plan with a financial manager. Only give out money off the interest.
If you win the lottery why the hell would you ever play again. The chances of winning a lottery are pretty slim, but winning twice is ridiculous and rarely ever happens.
My Mother won the Fantasy 5 in Georgia twice within 9 Months!!! First one was for 87 thousand dollars and 8 Months later, she won for 281,000 dollars!!! I kid you NOT!!! That was in 2008 - 2009!!!
@@amanasro Thats so awesome!! Ill be happy for her also when she wins the very big jackpot as well. I know winning more than one time can happen very happy for her!
I run a small pool (intentionally) and we throw 20$ at whichever lottery is most promising that week. There's only 4 of us but we shoot for everything... When lotto max has 50+ extras we have 8+ plays for the jackpot and 40+ for the extras... 50x extra draws and 40+ different numbers on a draw for a million... We've got much better odds than everyone else. We haven't won anything really, but the odds are in our favour. It's not retirement money... but instantly paying off your mortgage would drastically change the amount of years you have to work.
She COULDN'T participate. She said she didn't have the money to spare. Think about it.. when people play the lottery, they don't really expect to win lol it would be nice, but we know the odds. She probably figured why spend my last $10 when I can put gas in my car lol it was nice of them to give her something.
She shouldn't get any because her co-worker was even willing to spot her for that drawing til she can pay her back. That was her last resort to get in on it and she declined. And if she didn't have the money then that's usually a good indication that she's bad with her money and it's probably all gone by now.
That's why my wife stopped running office pool had run for years people would give her $50 she would buy tickets when the powerball went over 100 million. Sometimes people would run out they would not give her any money she kept a spread sheet. My worst fear was if we ever won everyone who ever played even a few times over the 10 years she ran it would show up saying they were in the pool.
83Mill a piece...AFTER taxes??? That can't be. That means they only paid $4000 tax on $1M? I don't think so! First they would be penalised for taking the lump sum; that's a big chunk gone. Then the remaining amount would be taxed to death! They probably each took home something more like $30,000 - $45,000..... after taxes
The only thing that stopped it getting worse was that it wasnt a crazy sum of money. Each woman received $83K . Obviously not enough to retire on or disappear.
Whoever puts a dollar in should sign a piece of paper.......like a football pool. They actually should all get fired. Gambling is illegal in the workplace.
