@Adelaide Trinity Maybe, but you would not need video if a common citizen had made threats like that. Police brutality is not simply a race issue, although that does play a part. It's as much about absolute power unchecked.
That's how it works but only if they resigned first. The cop in Pittsburgh that shot a kid in the back was fired from a different Dept just months prior to blasting the kid in the back as he was running.
@Tabora it can also be used to describe someone who's served in a job for a really long time, like cops. But I don't think 8 years is a long enough time to call someone a veteran when there are a lot of cops who have served longer than this guy has been alive.
Your comment is not very bright and sounds like an intentional swipe at the military, you probably have no respect for authority or even pride in yourself.
@@PETERJOHN101 well you sound like a bitch. This isn't anything to do with the military, I didn't even reference them at all. I was clearly referencing how the word veteran was usually someone who served longer than 8 years, as a cop, as the video was about cops. Dickhead.
The feelings police . His feelings are above the law. Wait and see this cop will be back on the force with a huge sum of back pay and cussing out and threatening more teens in about 18 months i garenty it and it'll all be kept secret from the tax payers who pay for his 18 monthes of paid vacation
Really...when you think about what an idiot the fool is that's calling you that actually is...just Chuckle away!!! He's probably a felon, or will be soon enough...
In Australia it is actually an offence to call a cop something they deem offensive, Australia is one big police state much so more than America and our cops are a bunch of pansies
@Tiberiu Farcas you must live in a different world to the rest of us. If that cop had ignored the comment it would have taught the youths much more.... and meat-head would still have his job and a modicum of respect. He showed his colours and got what he deserved. I wonder how brave the cop is with real criminals.. (or do I)
And you know how many times people feel like doing the same things to police that the police do to people and they also have self control? Ain't nothing special you did by doing the right thing in the first place.
You don't deserve the badge if you cannot act like a professional AT ALL TIMES. We expect you to be better than the criminals, not sink to their level.
Paul W First--thanks for your service I salute you. I had a gun rammed into my head, balls grabbed and squeezed, everything you can imagine to try to get me to take a swing at them so they could beat me half to death and then charge me with assault to justify the beating, which they would have won in court as 'everyone believes a cop in court' and the only witnesses were other cops. What saved me was knowing their MO and (childish as it sounds) repeating to myself over and over: "Not now, don't fight them now, come back tomorrow or next week and blow the whole station to pieces if your going to take them on." I knew far worse outcomes then mine. My "crime"?....resisting arrest via running from them, there was no reason for the arrest given other than that. That was in the early '80's, some things never seem to change.
Bill Conley. Are there any good cops. None of them obey their oaths. None of them obey the Constition. None of them know the law. None of them know our rights, and they dont care. Not enough of them have been taught a lesson yet. What is it going to take? WAR AGAINST COPS thats what.
Now there is a Chief of Police you can respect. The overweight cursing cop had no authority to demand the occupants disembark from the vehicle nor did he have a right to threaten a search for there was no probable cause... how many times do we hear cops cuss??? well i just honor this Chief Tyrone Oliver.
THANK YOU, chief! Good to know you're willing to hold your men accountable and fire guys who do not have the right attitude to be a police officer. Keep up the good work!
RT Solo. Hey Chief. Think you can come to MPLS MN and fire the cops here too? None of them (99%) are fit for the job. They need to honor the oath they took. Their response they give is "I forgot it". I was in the military 50 years ago. I still remember my oath. But I took it to heart. These guys want a gun and a BADGE to play GOD. I AM ABOVE THE LAW... I AM THE LAW. Please.....
I'm so glad that we've got your anti-police point of view considering the fact that that man put his life on the line to protect the community only to have a childish immature idiot yell out the window and start cursing at the police officer for doing his job. That child should be the one going to jail
This kid didn't disrespect the officer, he disrespected his government. The notion that your government will take this action for disrespecting it is downright scary.
"In this profession, we have to have tough skin. People say stuff to us all the time and you got to let it roll off your back and do your job and do it right," Chief Oliver said. He is absolutely right and you should try to deescalate a situation when possible and the video's today seems to show police officers doing the complete opposite in stressful situations.
Absolutely!!! It's an ego thing; the police have been allowed to get away with so much that they now think they're the law. They escalate because they feel that they are above everyone else.
How about get rid of immoral laws and legislations. Taking an oath to enforce all laws even if immoral is just as bad. Don't physically hurt someone. Don't damage someone's property. That's all we need for laws.
Bob Parker : your right. They strap on a badge, head swells up, the bullied becomes the bully. If that kid would have swong on him, the coward would have pulled his gun and shot that kid a dozen times. They need to check these retards before you give them a badge and gun. They are the reason they're hated.
That is exactly what will happen. He will be a cop, just somewhere else doing the same thing to people. He should be bared from getting a job as a police officer anywhere.
He teaches little young punks a lesson, so that means he will kill someone? This is the problem in our society, kids have no discipline. You try to discipline em and you get fired or taken to jail.
@@lesreed7943 the cop that shot and killed the kid in Pittsburgh was just fired from Penn PD a few months prior to the killing. So don't act like it doesn't happen.
The police Chief did an excellent job. He did not hesitate to do the right thing. He seems intelligent and well-spoken. We need more officers like him. I think he would be an asset to any community. Great job Mister police chief keep up the good work.
I had this sort of encounter with a cop when I was 8 years old, and it shocked me, especially because I was not doing anything wrong. It can really make a person lose respect for the police quickly.
Same here! Treated me like a criminal for walking down the street on way home from school. After another similar incident I lost much respect for policemen. Camera phones have been great for exposing these thugs
Rumpled Trumpskin ~ Yeah maybe ~ I thought FLIPPIN BURGERS ~ 🍔🍔 would've been more his line of work.!!!!???? He'd qualify easily here in my country.!!!!!! (New Zealand)
Good job chief! If someone chooses to be a cop, they must be ready to hear and set aside comments from passing vehicles! In too many instances cops abuse their powers and this is a case where the cop did so.
SMFH.. How STOOOOPID are you? Of course he wanted to fuck with them over the comment you jackass! The point was he had a LEGAL reason to stop them, unlike what you said earlier! DUHRRRR! Read this part out loud Jack........ "I'm sofa-king wee Todd it".
This guy gives officers a bad name. Hope no one hires him as a mall cop. He needs to stays away from any security job and I wish he was not allowed to own a gun.
And I bet he is at another department, you fire them all that's does is appease the public. Then they just go to work at another agency often with the help of the very department that fired them! YOU HAVE TO DECERTIFY LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS! If you do not pull their certification they will still be in the system. We also need to start holding police PERSONALLY responsible and make them pay out of pocket for legal expenses. Take their personal property, police certification and if warranted (funny word) jail them. These guys keep showing up because WE LET THEM. Fire them and the next "blue" uniform they have will be that sweet little Blue Wal-Mart vest. These guys know they can act with impunity because they have the backing of the entire government and various "fraternal" organizations to defend them legally.
I'm very happy to know, you removed this man's man's badge from him. Terminated, this man has no business being a police officer. This is one Chief of Police I have a lot of love and respect for.
I'd bet 1,000 to one that same chief has covered for dirty cops. He only fired this one for getting caught on camera. No camera = no discipline for dirty cops.
It's ridiculous how many times a cop can be reprimanded for this kind of stuff before they fire them, and usually nothing does happen. How many cops out there just have the wrong mentality for that job, how many cops abuse their power and mistreat people every day and get away with it...
So glad the chief did the right thing. He had NO LEGAL RIGHT to pull that jeep over. He threatened, intimidated and violated the Constitutional rights of these young men. He should have charges filed against him for all the obvious violations he committed in addition to the kids father beating his ass.
People like you are the reason our society is so fucked up. Not to mention you have no idea what you're talking about............ as is the case with 99.5% of you jailhouse lawyers blabbermouths.
falcondriver100 And yet the police chief himself disagrees with you. Could it be that you are in fact the problem with this country? When people like you refuse to hold cops accountable for their own actions, the problem continues to grow.
Your name fits you well. I see nobody on this thread saying anything about the loud mouthed/disrespectful teenagers yelling "fuck the police". SMFH. In my day cops didn't have to act like this b/c the parents would beat the shit out of me if I'd have done this, AFTER the cop beat my ass & wrote me up for disorderly conduct. Now, thanks to tube steaks like yourself kids are out of control crybabies needing 'safe places' and unable to cope with real life and riot when they don't get their way. And don't talk to me about the cops cursing when every rap song they listen to or movie they watch has much worse in it. Our society has gone to shit thanks to chumps like you.
falcondriver100 It's good to know that you have zero desire when it comes to cops acting professional. And once again this cop's own "boss" disagrees with you. It doesn't matter what you think of me, I didn't fire this cop his chief did. Try to pay attention more to the story in question and less to me.
steve grazzle smile, you are on candid camera. But also I don’t know if they really forget. I just think that they assume that the recording won’t need to be reviewed but then they get a rude awakening.
Damn. Looks like every other stop I've had. But as a civilian, and to paraphrase this honorable police chief, I've learned to just let it roll off my back. It's usually a no win situation, unless the police cameras are rolling and the stars are aligned.
