Officer John Nolan Makes a Big Decision - The Rookie 

As a older "new officer" he had time to fall a few times as a civilian and found he needed to stand up.. In time the blows did not knock him down like they did when he was younger... When his TO came back to uniform duty from being deep under cover, his Sargent said something along the lines of " she is with you as she could brake a young rookie, you being older have backbone. Find out why she wants to be here and let me know."

Im finishing my education after 13 yrs

still gonna take four years if he wants a 2 year degree. He would NOT have time to do school and be an officer without doing both part-time.

I read on the February 21st episode, Nolan is going to school to be a training officer, did you ever watch castle? Haley from castle is going to play Nolan's professor

With his personality type he's a better fit as a TO anyways. Not that he wouldn't be a good detective.

They would either kill or seriously wound his boot for the drama.

@@Ethan-dn1wc Look it up, they did an interview about how they would keep up with the Title , “The Rookie” and they said he would probably be a Rookie pretty much every step of his career, and they mentioned him becoming a rookie detective.

Agreed, but now with this story line change is coming across that Nolan did not finish college because he started a family during that time. Now it’s going to fit for the show’s time convenience that Nolan will finish almost exactly of the 2 year time frame to become a T.O..

@@antonioreyes2692 Ok. I had forgotten about dropping out because of starting a family. ANd 2 years to finish a degree could be plausible given HIs previous education At least IRL between that and his law enforcement training he could get a lot of credits for a degree taken care of entering in the door. He likely already had the math and English courses that are usually pre-requisites for college degrees as well as the normal core curriculum. Classes from his previous majors could cover any needed electives. Thus all he would have to focus on is his new major's requirements.

At most universities, a Bachelors in Justice only takes 2 years even with no previous college. It's a common requirement for becoming a Private Investigator ( same thing 4 years experience without or 2 years experience with the degree ) in many states. Hence why I know.

Did you at all listen to the words that were said. IT WOULD TAKE 2 years NO MATTER WHAT. I agree, the rookie has gone down the “woke train” a bit, but you just need better listening skills

@@justing7069 I listen just fine 2 years add to his one is 3 Training Officers usually have about 10 + under their belt with great records, Nolan's record ain't good .
