8 years ago yesterday... oh man has this games changed.

One of the first Destiny trailers I ever narrated! I love the epic, yet poetic story they wrote & the incredible imagery! :)

8 Years... Man what a treat this game is. It has had it's hard times, but it's something special

sometimes i go back to this trailer acting as if the game hasn't come out yet. this makes me sad.

I think that this game is gonna make memories

Apparently the original story was something like this: You encounter the Queens brother, as a you are a bounty hunter. He leads a band a renegade Awoken guardians who have left the city and rebelled against the traveler. You originally wanted to kill him/find out information, but eventually join him when you realize that the traveler is in fact evil and only tricking/using mankind until the moment is right and it destroys humanity for good. This was all cut from the game, I believe, sometime in the Spring of 2014, when they had some serious developmental problem (code might have gotten deleted on accident). So they had to rebuild a lot of it from scratch and couldn't justify delaying it a year, so they released a half baked grind fest. That's why there is no Old Chicago, Mumbai Push, ruins of space craft that you can explore, Europa, etc. I actually had a lot of fun with Destiny, I just wanted the one Bungie wanted. Too bad.

The hype for beyond light is real, destiny has really changed

Seeing everything this game has gone through has been such a gift. Been here since day 1 on both games and I've enjoyed every bit of it! Cool to see this in my recommendations.

I really do not know how i got here in 2020 but honestly I'm the one crying rn thinking about all the memories and how far destiny has come

I miss 5th grade, grinding for the imago loop (think that’s the spelling.) Wasn’t able to get it unfortunately. Miss letting my mind wander off with the lore and story, the potential this franchise has. The weekend nights grinding the Crucible, strikes, etc.

I can't believe it is finally coming out soon! I know your saying the first few trailers were just released but, I have been waiting a year for this game to come out. I found out by watching a trailer called "Law of the Jungle" and I said-wow that looks bad ass. I kept researching for detail on this game it was driving me nuts. (If anyone actually read this to the end I'm sorry it was so long I was just really excited for this game)

Anyone else notice how much more detailed everything looks? I haven’t played D1 in a minute but everything seemed way more noticeable when it comes to enemies than in D2. Moonlight reflecting off of the Vex chassis made me realize D2 is missing some of the little things D1 had.

Looking back at all of the old trailers and seeing the tower and the way the game looked before it's actual release makes me wish we got that version of the game.

A week away from light fall. Started playing this game when I was 12, and here I am now with 21 and still playing this game!

Bungie better drop Activision, because they'll probably make Destiny 2 amazing but then comes Activision, "Alright, take all this out, we'll sell it as DLC later, more money, also dumb the AI down, the kids play this game you know we need the kids to be crying to their parents to get this game, it can't be too complicated, also take this out, add some more grinding so they stay playing longer, and done, that's how you turn a good game into a pile of steaming shit." Activision should be sued.

Anyone else watching this in 2017? And also now i remember how much fun i had when i got destiny in year 1 for ps3 and i played it WITHOUT dlc and enjoyed it until the taken king and before the rise of iron i bought it for ps4.

Man…I was 14 when this game came out. Freshman year of high school. I remember all those late nights, rushing to get homework done and have just enough time to put in a few hours on Destiny. The long weekends and late night raid parties, filled with laughs and highs and lows. Some great memories right there.

This game had so much potential, but fell victim to corporate greed.

Coming back to this trailer roughly a year after the game has been out, you can really see how drastically different it was. Locations we've never had, different enemy behavior, a very different tower than what we have; it really makes you wonder what the hell happened at Bungie to cause the loss of what could've been one of the greatest games ever made.

I remember watching this with one of my brothers in the E3 space on PlayStation Home back in 2013. His interest as a big Halo player got me to download the Beta, and I was immediately hooked and unable to wait for the full game release. Now here I am, a veteran Guardian, at the end of the decade-long Light vs. Dark saga, and I can't help but look back in nostalgia and be like, wow, what a hell of a ride. We've come so far, and it's great to look at this with the full scope of everything that Destiny has become.

I can see the story linking back up to this with the current direction its heading, with uldren of course being a rouge gaurdian now

I've seen this trailer many times. I still can't help but think how different things would be now if this is the version of Destiny 1 we got on launch.

amazing, how this game was presented and how it evolved, how it changed. It's funny nowadays, seeing the trailer and remembering how i felt when i saw the trailer for the first time. The mystery. The curiosity. Ah, the good 'ol times.

Wooh boy! What a wild ride it has been. A complete story overhaul due to management, then a meh game that took actual effort to get to the top, then the Dank Below released and that was fun for an hour or two, then House of Whores released and sweat was introduced and continues to be an issue, then TTK released, all Y1 gear was rendered useless and we had to start from 270 light and level 34 and it was an even wilder ride, the tone did a complete 180 and it was like that all throughout RoI until AoT released. RoI was pretty fun, the raid bosses actually had difficulty attached, story missions *weren’t* made into strikes and the lore of the Iron Lords was actually fleshed out. AoT released as the final pre D2 update, before PS exclusive items were added to Xbox, then come September and D2 finally drops all our sweet, precious loot was gone and we started from zero. Round two, bois! CoO releases and it’s fun for half an hour until you realize that two of the what 5 missions were turned into strikes? EoW was challenging, but fun, then Warmind released and whoo boy! Was it both a shitshow and a meh expansion if you tilted your head and squinted, of the five missions, the two *MOST IMPORTANT* missions that didn’t even deserve to be missions or strikes given their weight as lore devices. Trials of Osiris has been turned into Trials of the Nine and everything’s ok as of now Good work, Bungie!

I cant help the feeling that this is the game I want, all the story and planets, probably variety of PvP aspects that got cut out because of Activision.

This will be the end to the gaming war. Halo fans will play it because it's made by bungie, and if you're a HARDCORE Halo fan, you will DEFINITELY play it, because let's face it, we all miss bungie. And COD fans will play it because it's published by Activision. And it looks frickin EPIC, so there's that.

Through everything this game is the best man. Glad I found it, haven't been more invested in a game since wow era's.
