All The Witness Cinematic Cutscenes Destiny 2 Lightfall 

Yup it shows just how powerful this being is. And that’s just a fraction of what it’s capable of.

It makes sense, the Darkness is of the Mind as we now know. I've been wondering for awhile now if the Witness is even a physical being at all or if it is more of an intense psychic projection or a sort of confluence, a concentration of psychic energies.

But if we never get to see what he saw, it will be criminal. Witness better show us that same rage in Final Shape.

This almost confirms that the witness will have a different form in the new raid.

I don’t think so, in the cutscenes he was just a bit taller than Calus was. at most he’s 50 feet tall, I think he’s closer to around 40 given our height compared to calus, then calus compared to the witness

The witness wanted the veil destroyed because its the key to the travelers portal. He knew we would find a way to track him if the veil stayed there. He ea ted calus to make the link then destroy, just portrayed oddly Actually it says just that. It says link the radial mast to the Veil then destroy it. Maybe because the veil doesn't get destroyed that is how we can win

@@Jeremy-yy1ukthis is just wrong, we’ve known for years that the witness can control our ghosts and speak through them, very clearly by how it went the witness intentionally allowed us to see this exchange so we would get our ghost close to the veil. The ghost being a creation of the traveler and made of light it was used to make the connection the witness has needed. This is literally confirmed from season of the deep

The Witness said to Destroy, because it would make the guardian rush to save the veil, by having the guardian there at the veil, our ghost would be entranced by the energy, creating the link

Likely a trap. We never accidentally seen this conversation. The witness meant for us t hear it knowing it would make us rush to the veil. Calus didn’t need to win here. He just had to draw us towards it. Once we were there all we had to do is kill the former emperor leaving him dead and our ghost close enough to make the link it needed

Oh by far... with some more exposition it could surpass the Prophet of Truth as BUNGO'S best villain It's alright the GOAT on style and design alone

Don't forget nimbus wanting a fist bump (and the animators having the audacity to force our guardian into it) immediately after Caiatl witnesses her dead father, followed by nimbus not acting sooner

Not to mention that although Osiris made it crystal clear that above all else we had to prevent the enemy from getting the veil (which by the way no one knew what it was back then, not even Osiris nor the cloud striders), not a single guardian was sent by the Vanguard, like, what in the ass. The entire army of Guardians was just chilling back on Earth waiting for the Witness to do something and in the meantime, there were 1 Guardian, 2 cloud striders, 1 decrepit old man without powers, and some Cabal sent by Caiatl fighting for the fate of the freaking universe in Neptune and not a single move from the Vanguard, that's just lazy writing. Had we just been accompanied by someone like Ikora the Witness would have had to personally go and take the Veil, and the outcome still would have been the same, but at the very least it wouldn't feel like we literally surrendered the one thing that would allow the Witness to reshape the Universe without even so much as putting up a fight.

Plus even the spoilers for this season show how nihilistic the Witness became when its people witnessed the Darkness, and failed to think about how Light and Darkness are both needed, and how it's only reliant on the Darkness, while we as Guardians use both the Light _AND_ the Darkness very well. Even if we don't know the why behind it, we still can use it to protect the Traveler, everyone in the universe, and more that the Witness and its forces threaten.

That was the promise of the darkness. That sometime the whole race had enough from light and will seek the truth in the final shape. @@Seeker_420 Yeah, exactly. All because the Witness and its people couldn't handle the fact they lacked purpose due to how they misunderstood the Traveler and its gifts, and didn't try to do more. We saw how when mankind first met the Traveler, even as it helped terraform the rest of Sol, humanity began to expand even further, growing in technology and science, allowing us to colonize Mars, Venus, and the rest of the planets in the system, while also allowing us to go beyond Earth before the Witness would come to Earth and try to link with the Traveler during the first Collapse. Even the Eliksni expanded their reach beyond just Riis after they were touched by the Traveler, even if they also had depended on it a good bit too, just as the Witness and its people had clinged too much onto it, while humanity wanted to understand the Traveler, *BUT* also wanted to see more of what they could research thanks to its gifts.

At the same token, it truly does seem benevolent towards it’s followers, in its own twisted way. It schools Rhulk essentially as a little Witness junior, builds a statue to Nezzy facilitating his resurrection by the traveler, and genuinely seems to want to provide Calus with purpose and uplift him. It was quite patient with Calus before he disrespected it. Such an interesting villain as it believes it is in the right and is acting for the good of all life, not just itself.

It's very interesting that the Witness is EASILY the most humanoid alien creature devised by Bungie thus far in terms of sheer appearance/morphology... and from a studio whose scifi narratives (Halo and Destiny specifically) have been about wildly differing sentient species coming together on common ground and settling differences... what does the Witness' design say about humanity?

You wanna see how far this was in front of us? The witness is described perfectly back in 2015. Describing the time after it enters the portal inside the traveler. Ghost Fragment: Mysteries 2 Ingress via dreams alone Things I saw inside A wild river and a broken dam (or maybe it's just the sea crashing through a narrow gap I can't be sure). Waves slam through the gap and where they hit the stone they throw up pillars of spray that pierce the mist and crash down in thunder. There's a giant in the cataract, trying to wade against the current, and I can tell it wants to reach the lever and pull the lever which will seal off the flow or maybe give it the sword, but the torrent throws it back so it just keeps its head down and tries to push on. I can't see the face but it breathes out white smoke. I feel for it hard. A world painted around the interior like a stranger Earth everted and glued inside itself but I don't believe this one it's too much like a metaphor. A switchboard or a train station, empty, dead (waiting). The tunnels branch off into infinity. I stare down one for a long time and see a pale worm move in hungry coils around itself. I think this one is the most likely although I might have brought the worm. An egg but I'm not sure if the broth inside is warm still, or if it's gone to rot, or if the warmth comes from the struggles of the tiny winged zygote or the bleed from the wound or the thoughts of something thinking very hard. A star I think. We count on stars as steady friends because they always rise and always shine but a star's a delicate truce: an explosion caught by its own mass so that it can't erupt and can't collapse. Thus I imagine the state of the machine might be. But one force or another has gone awry and now it rests here, snuffed and broken, waiting for the two rival forms of ruin to be set in balance again.

Yes, people *_loved_* to hate on _Thor: The Dark World_ but when that movie first came out it was *friggin awesome* and featured an end that reminded the audience 'Hey remember that purple guy who appeared during the mid credits of _The Avengers?_ *_Watch this space_* because shits about to get AWESOME!!!' Compounded with such hits the likes of _Captain America: The Winter Soldier_ and the first _Guardians of the Galaxy_ movie not to mention the *_rather mighty_* initial Phase 3 announcement and I mean...yea. There was a genuine sense that the MCU was going to build up to something incredibly cosmic and *_cataclysmicly AWESOME_* which indeed said shared cinematic universe delivered with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Those films were genuine events, the first of which we had seen since the likes of the _Lord of the Rings_ trilogy and the Matrix sequels back in the early 2000s. Nevertheless, Infinity War and Endgame came and went...and I don't know about you but the MCU is kind of feeling pretty darn *flat* these days. *_And I'm pretty darn sure I'm NOT alone in thinking that!_*

Palpatine and The Witness are my too favorite villains at the moment. Both have a black cloak and command a fleet of triangular ships with an apprentice. But if we're comparing power the only person from the Star Wars universe that could compare to the Witness would be Abeloth from Legends.

It doesnt look like it flows together to me. Witness tried to open the portal and failed. Or, it knows that it needs to 'contact' traveler to know of the veil location. So that means Theres more and that scene isnt side by side.

@@MICROKNIGHT3000They clearly added the "failed to open the portal" part. Like 5 extra seconds of oh he couldn't do it without the veil. The original roadmap for the light dark saga was supposed to be three expansions. Lightfall was supposed to be the final one. But then Sony bought Bungie and they wanted an extra expansion. Clip out the fails to open portal part and go to 13:05 and its a flawless transition.

Given how it *NEEDS* control and demands it, it makes sense the Witness was able to do that, while Calus was mad it would assume he failed when they failed to anticipate what the Guardians could awakening Strand, even if it was at a time we couldn't fully control because we didn't go with the flow.

They didn't split the campaign to make money out of it, they split the campaign due to time crunch. They had no choice to do this. And now they had way more time to work on Final Shape to make it bigger and better than it would have been.

When the witness is with Calus the whole shatter effect around them is The Witness talking to him in his mind. The pyramid fleet was WAY outside our galaxy of course it would take them years to get here.
