The Ottawa Greek Community put on a Greek dance flash mob in the Byward market to promote the 2011 Ottawa Greek Festival. The weather held out and we all had a good time! Remember to Live a Day the Greek Way!
What a joy. I am watching, smiling and crying just now. Thank you Greeks, thank you Maestro Mikis Theodorakis for this divine song. Greetings from Serbia.
I feel like I'm instantly became Greek for 8mins. It's so satisfying to see people loving their heritage despite of rapid modernization. Hello from the 🇵🇭
This is what brings the nations together : music, dance, singing. Let us sing and dance. What I am deeply missing at school, is, singing , even the oldfashioned " VOLKSMUSIK" ( NOT BAVARIAN MUSIC !!!!). And dances like typical SCANDINAVIAN dances, dances from the NETHERLAND, FRANCE, DANCES from NORTH GERMANY, you name it. I am deeply missing this. At my time, I am not a teeny anymore, we had this all. It made us happy, fit, lots of giggles and laughter , you felt relaxed !!! It was good fun. And something else, the boy you fancied and he grabbed you by his hand, you were in heaven. The schoolday ended with happiness!
My mom was born in the U.S. of Greek immigrants, Papou in 1915, and Yiayia on 1917 (Yiayia actually was processed at Ellis Island). I was able to show mom this before she passed away in 2016; she absolutely LOVED it!! YASOU!!!! OPA!!!! 🇬🇷
I love it when people are like this and so friendly and having a good time. One thing for sure they all come together for a great culture in dancing 💃 this was great 👍
Because of everything going on in our world I would always watch this and it's shows if we don't fight the world can be so happy. Lots of love from South Africa 🇿🇦♥️♥️

Having spent one month and a half in Greece long time ago I can appreciate what I see now and how greeks are dedicated to their extremely reach culture and traditions.
I'm from Chicago and the two older men (I think one was the waiter and the other was his friend in the black hat) started dancing at the end was totally Greek...that was authentic...nothing convoluted. I grew up with a lot of Greeks. They are VERY good people. XOXOXO from Chicago👍🙃🙌😘
We Greeks always are like this.....everywhere will go we dance....we had been in turkey with a bus and when we went to eat and got down from the bus we started to dance....and Turkish people were dancing with us
My landlord was Greek and he brought me to Ottawa Greek festival during the 90's. It was the first time I experienced Greek culture. I tried the food the liquor - I don't know what it's called but quit strong and loved it. I danced in circle like this one and had a great time.

I grew up next door to a Greek/American family, life happened over the years and I find myself 100 miles away BUT we've always remained very close. When Lulu, the 90 year matriarch, hosts a party for what ever reason, I'm there if I can. Her pool opening parties are the highlight of every year and 2 years ago my partner and I and maybe 50 others were taught this dance by her and her son. The pool had been opened, many had tested the water, the food had been eaten and drinks consumed when we clasped shoulders in a ring around the pool and danced. Several of us had 'spoken' with Jack Daniels for too long, lost our footing and went in. It was her best pool party EVER!!
The scenes of people dancing and listening to this beautifuly haunting and powerful music makes me smile so much it brings tears of joy to my eyes. I cannot help but cry with emotion, i want the whole world to be like this all the time. LOVE PEACE AND UNITY WITH UNIVERSAL HARMONY TO THE WORLD. Dec 2020 🙏❤🙏❤🌎🌎🌈🌎🌎🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
This song must be included in universal treasure of mankind!! This is THE SIMBOL of love, friendship and kindless between peoples... no matter age colour or religion. Zorba, the Greek is alive for ever... 👋👋🌹🌹🤗🤗❤️❤️

HELLAS-history, mathematics, geometry, health, astrophysics, etc. Language 10.000 years old. ABC It's original ours not from some others in history. The richest language in the world. The mother of latin languages. Over 70 million words and count (never stop to birth a new - not to + two words this is simple). English 1.2 million words and 50% (yes is real) are Greek. One of the future language in extreme power computers with A.I. (Artificial Intelligence). English are so poor to set exactly orders in power programs.
I love Greece and Its people…. they always have this kind, humble and positive aura aside from having a rich culture and being one of the beautiful county on earth ^_^
Ver tanta unión hace que las personas fuera de esta, sientan también amor por su cultura. Viva la cultura! Maravilloso. Saludos desde Barranquilla, Colombia.

I've watched this video many times, and it's a great example of what I used to tell my students--I taught ancient Greek, language and literature for 40 years: the ancient Greeks were a gregarious people, Athenian participatory (not representative) democracy being a major example of that. For the ancient Greeks, someone who kept to himself, didn't seek out others--a "loner"--they called an "idiōtēs," the source of the English word "idiot." Unlike now, Plato's Socrates didn't do philosophy off by himself, alone in his study, but in "dialogue" with at least one other person, hence Plato presented his philosophy as "dialogues," e.g., the "Symposium" (means "a drinking together") the "Republic," etc. It takes at least two people in dialogue with one another to arrive at the truth. Modern Greeks are like that, too: the video begins with one lone dancer, the guy in the fisherman's cap, others begin to join him, and soon the street is filled with dancing Greeks. I think Greeks are born knowing how to dance, as you can see how easily they are all soon effortlessly performing the "Zorbas." Opa!
