Official Reggae Culture: The Legendary Tenor Saw Story
Clive Bright, born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1966, is best known as Tenor Saw, a significant figure in the early ragga and dancehall scene. His 1985 hit "Ring the Alarm" became one of the biggest and most popular reggae songs during its transition into the electronic age. Additionally, Tenor Saw released Fever, an LP with simple yet catchy melodies, synthesized rhythm-section parts, and his signature floating vocals. Although his life was tragically cut short in August 1988 when he was hit by a car in Houston, TX, Tenor Saw's legacy lives on through the posthumous release of his album Wake the Town in 1992.
