Very proud of Britain. And very proud of PM Cameron. He is truly a statesman for holding this referendum. I favor the leave vote. However, if the remain camp had won, I would still be proud and fine with those results because we had an opportunity to vote on it. I think a referendum about EU membership should be mandatory in all European countries.

Cameron said he would follow the instructions of the British people, I didn't see any instructions requesting him to resign effectively allowing him a 'cop out' from taking any instructions. Further I can understand a few days too let the dust settle and a few weeks of informal discussions for our exit deals. However 3 months of a lame duck PM is inexcusable and very damaging.

0:45 - 0:53 makes my heart feel so full. Thank you very much to my faithful fellow Brits who voted Leave. I (ashamedly) voted Remain at the time but now that I know what I'm voting for, I'm more mature, informed and less selfish, educated on the EU and on history and have become a British patriot, I would vote Leave in a second ref. The battle is not yet won sadly but we've never been one to back down.

The fight is not over. We voted leave to have borders, but the majority of Parliament MPs are Europhiles, and will be fighting now to keep our borders open. This will only encourage trafficing and mass immigration, because migrants will view it as a last chance and make the greatest effort to force their way through our borders in mass. The borders need to be shut decisively to protect our jobs, our health system, our education system and our culture. As Boris said, we need to implement an immediate point system - as in Australia - and not leave our borders wide open any longer to unqualified refugees and opportunists. If MPs have their way, and allow the status quo for another 7 years, then immigration will explode over that time. An immediate action is needed to prevent further erosion of our resources. The open door policy pushed by Cameron, is like having a house where any stranger can walk in and eat your food, and sleep in your bed, and take your livelihood. It was a corrupt policy that totally neglected the welfare of the British people. We were sold out by fat cat politicians, intent on cushy Euro-careers. A bank without doors soon gets looted, but now we have a chance to shut the doors that protect our people's wealth, control our own destiny, and grow strong again.
@33LB
@33LB 6 лет назад
the problem is that none of you dipshits can come up with a sensible proposal for controlling the UK's borders; hence why the border question remains unresolved 2 years after the referendum. you all voted leave, but weren't quite sure of what you actually wanted.

@Security Outside The EU she's not a remainer. since the referendum, she has only ever argued in favour of leave. please tell me; how would someone like boris, mogg, or farage have done anything differently? also, you didn't answer my previous question... what would your proposal be for the UK's land borders with the EU?
@33LB
@33LB 5 лет назад
@Security Outside The EU "They would have walked away like sensible people instead of trying to negotiate with Dictators." no one in the UK wants a no-deal brexit, and indeed, the majority of people who voted for brexit did so because of talk of securing better trade deals. a no-deal scenario would shrink UK GDP by almost 10%, which would eclipse the 2008 recession. perhaps you are a millionaire, but for normal people in the real world, that's a real concern. "Land borders are a non-issue. Neither England nor Ireland want another border. You're beating a dead horse. " Not wanting a land border is not the same thing as not having one. WTO rules would require a customs border in the event of a no deal brexit (or are you seriously suggesting we walk away form the WTO too?) so either we come to some agreement with the EU (which is something you object to) or we have a customs border.
@roadrunner1337
@roadrunner1337 5 лет назад
I think the vast majority of us who voted to leave just wanted to leave with no deal or a free of charge deal with free trade, but you are partly right that during the campaign, before the vote, neither side discussed the logistics. The truth is that as (Southern) Ireland is in the EU then post our exit the border between Northern Ireland and (Southern) Ireland shoud be treated in the same way as the "border" is between France and Northern Ireland as one party would be in the EU and one outside. Our politicians are mostly spineless and that reality may cause some "unpleasentness" (violence, loss of artificial Conservative majority etc) and so they cannot confront that.

No there won't, it will be very stupid and suicidal for any party in government to go against the will of the people. After going through all this, it will and has to be respected. This is it, we are going out, there is no turning back. It was interesting to read something a French student said a few weeks ago, she said France would also vote to leave but the government would never give the people a chance to vote because they know it will not go in their favor. We are not the only one's discontent with the EU, but we are lucky we still had a vote, a big promise made by the Tory government, and one they kept, for that I respect them.
@GrandmaBetty1945
@GrandmaBetty1945 8 лет назад
Wendy Phillips Wendy I am willing to bet 5000 euros on the scenario I predicted, because of previous experiences. The United States of Europe (I refuse to call it EU) will let it sink in for a while. You and I have already seen the recent media campaign to convince public opinion about leaving being an economical disaster, which it is not. A few months from now, a new referendum will be held. Not now because it is still too controversial. Maybe they'll bankrupt a few companies and blame it on Brexit in the mean time. The real divorce is never ever going to happen. The allmighty lobbyists of Washington DC and its TTIP - TPP world economy deals are dictating the future of this planet. What society thinks about it doesn't matter. I call it corporatocracy because it is about multinationals and not about the middle class. They just want to give you the idea that your vote matters to avoid civil unrest
