If you want to mimic the click portion of this training aid without spending the money, put a BB or ball bearing in an old 8 iron or wedge. Take it back, pause at top so the ball falls down to the grip inside the shaft, then swing and you want to hear the ball rip down the shaft. Something an old golf coach of mine would have me do.
LOL!!! "My practice swing is worthy of a LIV-type contract !!! My real swing is between a 17-18 handicap!" I am going to be using that one for a while! Well said!
I bought one before this video. No issues on the purchasing process. It took a couple weeks to arrive but figured they were back ordered. The club seems a bit heavier than a standard club so that might help in building up strength. Getting the correct speed set on the speed dial is important for proper practicing. At first use it was difficult to hear the click and ball contact difference. MSG has helped clear up how to use it properly. Thanks
@@icanduo From what I can tell, it’s very gimmicky after doing research. There is no replacement for hard work. Doing drills daily at home, taking them to the range, and consistently practicing are the best ways to improve your game. From my personal experience anyway. That’s all I’ve done this last month especially and I’ve dropped my score a pretty good amount. Way less fat and thin shots. Still struggle with my 3-5 irons though… bitches are hard to hit proper.
I have it and it's a very good training aid. Comes with a one year guarantee if you don't like it. Worth the price. I think. Thanks for reviewing and giving your opinion!
Great review thank you so much! I’ve been wondering about this. How do you think this compares to the Lang shot? Two different things or are they the same? Would you recommend one over the other? If you can only buy one, which one are you going with?
Mr. SG got one these a couple of weeks ago….it has really helped myniron contact! the clicking thing is BS, it wii click if you purposely try to hit across the top…its greatness in getting your timing and contact correct when warming up. actually like the club enough pulled it out of the bag and hit it for real.
just received mine. Im a little skeptical after testing it. Havent hit any balls with it yet, but it seems like i can make it click swinging any which way, over the top, from the inside, down the line, even on the highest swing speed setting. will see if thats true when im actually hitting balls with it.
Did you ever get a chance to try it out and see what you think of it? I'm considering getting one so would definitely be interested in your opinion after using it.
Would be interesting to have an independent party (re: mr short game brings along a beginner golfer) and have them use the club under his direction…see what happens.
Always skeptical of any type of training aid, I think the grip portion of this is the best part, swing speed and clicker adjustment, not so sure. They need to show us high handicappers using it and the results. A pro can hit it regardless.
I agree. I’m a very high handicapper. I’ve been playing golf for 13yrs now. ( I’m 62). I’d like to see an amateur do a review of this training aide. I don’t feel like purchasing this training aide and it doesn’t help me out. Then I have to deal with sending the club back for a refund.
I agree as well. I bought it recently but have not had a chance to use it yet. I do like the fact that it has a 365 money back guarantee, something I have never seen before with golf training aids. I also like the fact that it comes in lefthand.@@jetskijer
I think the fact that you did your practice swing in mid air made a difference, I always do my practice swing in the same position I do my real swing just without a ball in position, but I’m a weirdo when I played I always felt that I had a certain amount of good swings in me when playing and if I did too many practice swings I risked using all my good swings on nothing, that being said I did most of my playing when I was 8-15 and just play occasionally now, but for some reason I still have the same mindset 😅
Is this a sponsored review? I can make this device click with any type of swing (over/ under swing plane) and at any speed setting with an easy swing. For me, it does nothing for the swing plane and speed. The grip is really nice though with the three settings.
I guess the short stick is ok.. still not sure? What about a driver swing aid to increase speed ..a weighted bottom style of head..any thoughts?..thanks
My practice swing is a lot better than my swing when I hit the golf ball. I ordered a straight stick 7 iron and thinking about getting the Driver… Can you do a review of the street stick driver?
The website to buy this thing is a mess. It takes so long to actually find where you can click to buy the training aid that it reeks of spam. Very afraid my credit card info will be stolen if I buy this thing.
Mrshortgame I’ve been seeing Hank Haneys driver slice thingy on RU-vid commercials let’s see how that thing works I’m curious if it helps high handicapers with the slice
Nice review but I would search for another review here on RU-vid if you’re interested in buying this. Another presenter show the click can happen with a inside out and over the top swing and the speed adjustment didn’t seem to make any difference.
@@GolfOnTap You should have put an affiliate link on your video too. If I do end up buying it, your review is going to be the biggest contributor to my decision, so I'd rather you get the $. You did some solid work in your review.
@@bennettlewis5495 I appreciate the support and comment! Even if I had the ability to have a Performance Golf affiliate link (they pick who that is) I do not think I would endorse this product personally. Cheers!
@@GolfOnTap I got to agree with you on this one BBB, the gimmicky clicky thing is just a measure of inertia overcoming the power of magnetism, the grip is cool, but the worst part of the entire experience was the data mining website, and multitude of sales calls after the purchase
I’ve been curious about the Swing Stick. I have watched some videos from Danny Maude on Y.T. Chipping is one area I can improve on. He has a few good videos on chipping among other aspects of the golf swing.
You could go to any large golf retailer and hit one of their clubs in a hitting bay with a simulator. I'm 66 years old and have a 90-92 mph swing w/ a Driver and around 75 with a 7 iron. I've given up trying to swing faster and now just want to make good contact and control the ball flight. I'm a 5 GHIN and that's about the best I'll be.
Looks like the straight stick is forcing you to close your face to more of a neutral position which is making you have to lag the club more to square the face resulting in that compression. I would love to purchase one but the website looks like a disaster and gives me no confidence about me putting my credit card info in there 😳
It clicks no matter how fast or slow you swing on any setting and with an inside or outside swing path. The grip is nice, but you can get one on a much cheaper training aid. Not a scam, but definitely a huge stretch with any swing fix claims.
Disagree with your assessment. It only clicks for me when on the correct plane, speed, release motion. It is definitely different as speed setting increases.
The click thing is a gimmick (I can make it click over the top, inside out, over my head, like a baseball bat), the grip is the valuable part for 99% of people buying it
Been proven not to work because you can make the click any time you want or for some people, they can't get the click at all. We tested this aide and not one of the people who tried it got better--several got worse because they stated aiming the club to try to make the click. One of the most frustrating aide that we have seen in 2023.
@@chrisstevens2593 nope, just 3 wood. Website looks very scammy too. they need an to rethink this. Looks like something that would be advertised in the TV Guide (old school) lol.
Best training aid is one of your own clubs. Swing them Upside down. Left hand only, Right hand only. Your teach yourself to throw correctly . Take a ball in your right hand and swing to the top and throw the ball down on the mat or your carpet what ever surface . You will find out what is feels like to throw, and get the body for free. Cost is pretty cheap if you have your own set of clubs. Other wise most all aids are Junk.
Google this & check the reviews it's getting. Quite a few less than impressed for different reasons. This is good for training yourself to extend your arms through & after impact but doesn't seem like it's made to check swing plane. You can setup a club to do the same thing for very little cost just by using anything that will easily slide down the shaft of 1 of your clubs when swinging it. Whatever you use on the club shouldn't touch the clubhead until your arms are fully extended toward the target. This requires holding your wrist angles through impact. If you don't, the object will slide down the shaft too soon & hit the clubhead at the bottom of the swing rather than after impact when the arms fully extend. No point in spending $140 for what you can make for yourself. Use the money for lessons.
Put that devil ball down there in the path of the clubhead and things change. It's amazing what that does to psyche you out. I think it triggers the hit instinct.
How can you really tell when the click occurs? The swing occurs so quickly it would tough to tell, unless maybe it's well after the strike. You would probably need to video yourself to confirm.
You should have set it to a 100 and swung with a 60 mile an hour speed to see if you could get it to click also the over the top swing was super super exaggerated so no one would expect it to work
It’s a bummer to see this guy (BBB Golf) say that Mr. SG deleted his comments stating that he didn’t have the same results. It’s nearly impossible to trust any reviews where the person is paid through an affiliate link, etc. I generally like Mr SG’s videos and I wish he would disclose this fact up front.
@@sammyclemens5390 I like Mr. SG a lot. So much so that I almost bought the Straight Stick based on his review. But I did my due diligence to get a balanced perspective. So, on one hand I have Mr. SG who is gonna make some $ on every sale he refers, vs. a guy who's only gonna make $ if he grows his channel. I'll keep watching Mr. SG, but this sell-out is going to make me a bit more skeptical of anything he recommends.
@@rickvanhollebeke2367 Um, BBBGolf’s pinned post says: “Mr. SG and Eric Cogomo (both with PG affiliate links) have also deleted my comments from their videos featuring the Straight Stick. I only commented that I did not have the same results when testing it.” I am not looking to bash Mr SG. I like his videos. But if this is true it is disappointing and he needs to do better to keep his viewers’ trust.
the straight stick FEELS heavier than a standard 7 iron to me.. So if you swing the stick just 10-15 times a day, that translates into your normal 7 iron feeling lighter and you feel as tho you can swing it a bit faster and get thru the ball.... As far as the clicking noise?.. Its annoying. It really is guys..I swing it inside my condo at 6am before I go out and play my golf and my neighbors hate me because of the loud noise.. They should quiet that down..
Come on MSG, I thought you were better then this. This club has been tested by several reviewers and it doesn’t matter if you are over the top or way inside. The club still clicks. The swing speed adjustment doesn’t even matter, whether it’s set on fast or slow, it still clicks. Very disappointed in your review. Figured you were one of the reviewers I could trust
Why do all of these types of products have those shitty, eternal scroll, seems-like-it’s-a-scam website? Looks like a cool product, but just because of the website design alone, there’s no way I’d buy it unless someone personally recommended it.
As Rocco says in the video..."as instructed". I believe if he watches the many training videos for this training aid, he will see that you set it for your driver swing speed. Why bother with instructions, right?
I can’t believe you did a review on this club. It is such a scam. I watch your channel for honest reviews, and this might make me walk away. If you watch other videos on this, it will click on all kinds of bad hits. Again, I can’t believe you did this video
Gave this device at least 5 opportunities on the range only to realize a WASTE of time. Very disappointed! However, credit to those on the advertisement video for great acting that fooled me to fall for it. CON 1: Can't get feel like a traditional club because almost weight of 2 clubs means limited practice because the weight gets you fatigued on backswings. CON 2: Click sound too quiet so usually don’t know if it clicks or not so it's difficult to gauge if swinging properly. If it does click the sound usually drowned out at impact. I set the mechanism at 70 mph, my swing speed, but it didn’t matter. CON 3: When can hear the click the results inconsistent. Some shots I slice but it clicked anyways? Some shots hit flush down the middle but no click? Makes no sense. CON 4: Yes, training video offers solutions for those with hook or slicing issues. But for us golfers who do BOTH equally - there is no advice in training video therefore useless!
