David has aged very gracefully, and Catherine appears to have barely aged at all. We're so lucky to be getting these absolute powerhouses back on our screens again.
@@thejfoshow1320 100% one of those things that people would hate when it first happens but then love when they are 10 years older and look the exact same. Probably a mental health nightmare in the short term but a mental health goldmine in the longterm. 20 and looking 30 would suck but like 45 and still looking 30 outside of a few wrinkles would be peak.
This is going to be heartbreaking. Like getting just the thing you've wanted for years and years, only to have it taken away again after an hour or so. David is my doctor
I missed 10th badly and knew it all along, but didn't realize how much I missed Donna until now. It's a joy and an honor to witness these two back in action, together.
I honestly didnt love ten (I didn’t dislike him at all, he was amazing, I just prefer the meaner doctors like 9 and 12) but I’m so happy we’re free of chibnall.
I really like the fact that Donna calls the Meep a Martian. It’s an easily recognisable callback to her first appearance but it made me smile when I heard it, and I’m sure I’m not the only one! Really excited for the 60th and it’s nice to see Kate Stewart back since she was also in the 50th, just like David Tennant! Whovember is going to be fantastic!
@@Silverwind87 dose he actually say that in the comics? Also what's with him and Donna? As it sated that her memory was erased and beep wants something from her??
Beep bop... I'm the Philosophy Bot. Here, have a quote: "We sometimes encounter people, even perfect strangers, who begin to interest us at first sight, somehow suddenly, all at once, before a word has been spoken" ~ Dostoevsky
No one’s talking about how insane it is that Kate Stewart has been the glue holding the past 12 years of doctor who together. If she meets 15, she’ll probably hold a record for meeting the most doctors on screen
That would still be The Brig. He met 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 12 (12 if you count the cyber Brig at the end of Death in Heaven). Kate Stewart has met 11, 12, 13, gonna meet 14 and 15. So it is close.
Donna Noble's ending was one of the saddest things in Dr who. I don't know that I can handle the possibility of losing her entirely lol. But to see her and David together again is a treat I never thought I'd get. Allons-y
I think she will no ok, when he said " I don't know if I can save your life this time " , He will probably use his life to heal her then regenerate into the new doctor , He goes out a hero again, 10 saved her grandad ,14 or 10.2 can save her
@@sarahudson108 Or maybe he realises he needs a new perspective in order to save her and forces a regeneration in the hope his new form can think of a way out of it.
David and Catherine were Doctor Who at its absolute best for me, I am so glad they are revisiting these two, and I hope Donna gets the ending she deserves.
I mean, I would hope they would only bring her back if they were going to give her a happier ending this time. I feel like if they killed her off or wiped her memories again, it's just in bad taste for the audience again.
The amicable chemistry between them was the absolute best the show has ever had. He was still able to wow her but she took absolutely none of his shit.
This might just be me, but I really feel like the villain or the antagonist that’s going to be a part of the specials actually feels threatening, because setting up the concept that the tardis ran away really shows how powerful they are
Honestly Donna Noble was always my favorite companion of the Doctor! One of the few that didn't have any 'romantic' ties to him and honestly gave me a brother/sister vibe to the pair. Loved it!
Mine too ! She's so unapologetically herself, extremely sassy and doesn't take crap from anyone. That's also what I like about Amy and River so they're my third and second favorite respectively ^^
@@desoliver9712 while I do agree, Donna was my favorite companion and I've always felt she (as a person) deserved better than having her memory wiped. I can't wait to see what happens to them next!
me too i always wanted her to get her memory back in a way that doesn't kill her but then decide to move on or stay on earth and fight the good fight like sarah jane
I'm excited to see some of the more emotion driven and heartfelt parts of the plot. David's ability to portray emotion as the doctor is always incredible
And is totally innapropriate for the long established character of the Doctor. "I am an alien being Peri. From an entirely different world and culture. You should not judge me by your own parochial limitations"-
@@DarthAzabrush Yeah this. Although I am incredibly excited, I hope the character development through the 12th and 13th Doctors are apparent here, and that he doesn't just resort back to being overly emotional like 10 was. I can accept it if he is shown to be self aware that this incarnation of himself is a tad emotional, and acts maturely on that fact.
The united states military is using technology and manpower to protect deviant sadistic Child SAers that are misusing their access to advanced tools to spy on, harass, and forcibly SA children. This sometimes follows them into adulthood. Children that are still too young to know that what they are seeing is not normal are being exposed to disgusting deviant content that is forcibly shown to them by hacking their devices. Many victims may not even know they have been targeted by this, because the majority of the actual SA happens when they are slipped something that incapacitates them or they are asleep, the only reason they might know is because the perpetrator may leave behind physical evidence, like bruises, scratches, or bodily fluids. If a victim discovers what has happened to them these worms will misuse equipment and manpower to stalk, shame, mock, and generally try to make the lives of the people affected by this as hellish as possible both offline and online. They follow victims in person and try to intimidate or harass them. They generally use different people who act as though they aren't affiliated with each other and don't do anything they can be arrested for at the time of the harassment. They think they can shame and mock their victims into silence because some of what happens is coerced. These are depraved cowards that gather in groups to harass solitary women and children just to protect deviant SAers. They harass the victims to try to instigate a violent reaction that they can be locked up for. This is a strategy they have used for decades against enemies in different contexts, only the child SAers use it to try to get rid of victims with the aid of advanced military technology.
@@dignusdingus3709 idk guys but david tennant's portrayal of the doctor became a mass fan favorite exactly bc of the emotional range he's brought into his doctor and although i don't doubt the time and experience of 11/12/13th docs will affect him as this version, i highly doubt that will mean he'll emote less. he's a force of nature in that regard and i doubt any writer can resist that. majority of fans can't wait to be absolutely emotionally devastated by him yet again too. plus i believe the show itself has already acknowledged the fact before that 10 was more emotionally intense and human than most others. the bridge doctor is "revisiting" this old face for a reason, so i doubt they can just ignore how this reincarnation has always been more emotionally open PLUS they are putting this old face back into an old situation of his too with donna. that'll bring anyone back to the emotional space they used to be in, even if not in the exact same way. but i agree that they'll def keep in mind that time has passed since then and i'm excited to see how that'll affect this old face as the current older version of himself! either way i think we'll have a feast as fans!! :)
Donna Noble is THE BEST Companion in all of Doctor Who. I have rewatched that season a dozen times and it gives me the chills everytime. Masterful writing and acting. David Tennant and Catherine Tate are the best acting duo, from comedy to drama to scifi in minutes. Genius.
Tennant’s delivery at 1:48 and 1:51 gives me chills. Really sells the Toymaker as immensely terrifying and someone he hoped to never see again from his first life.
David's always been a phenomenal Doctor, but damn, just those moments alone make me feel he's really reaching for a level of performance he never really accessed in his run on the show, he came close but in terms of emotional intensity this seems far more extreme than he ever got before, and that's the most haunting thing about this trailer for me, that instead of his more typical subdued and sombre emotion with occasional outbursts, he's full of rage and even more heartbreak than before. He was brought back after an absence of many lifetimes and is immediately thrust head first into what seems to be a truly terrifying and haunting situation, which in my head explains how scared and emotional he is here. Tennant's Doctor thought of regeneration less about change and more of a full on death, so from his point of view he's been resurrected for reasons yet to be explained just to suffer, and I'm scared of what's going to happen in this three part rollercoaster.
Most companions to an extent have a I’m in love with you relationship with the doctor Rose, Jack, Mickey, Martha, Amy, Clara, Bill, and Yasmin. On the other side Donna, Rory, Nardole, and Graham saw the doctor more as a cool friend. I have also enjoyed the companions who aren’t as in love with the doctor and just enjoy hanging out with them.
@@sixstanger00i don’t think you understood what they were saying. we know it’s not a movie but it looks like it. they were just saying it looks awesome
The enemies are terrible tho it’s a bit more childish than it’s ever been. Would’ve preferred something like daleks or cybermen because they were the doctors biggest enemies. Just my opinion nobody attack me for it
After years of missing David, him being the reason I fell so in love with the show... we're gifted one last run and I'm so thankful for that, I've not been this excited for Doctor who in years
Mate, seeing the Doctor and Donna that emotional got me tearing up over here. There's a reason David and Catherine are considered the best Doctor/companion duo, so happy to have them back. No sighting of Wilf but that Ncuti tease at the end...OH YES!
They definitely leaving wilfs appearance out the trailer for that surprise moment when he shows up on our screens. Legit gonna cry though when he appears 😔
@@etrefzger I actually cried when I heard he'd passed. A gentleman, a saint, and an absolute gem of a human being. All of his scenes in Doctor Who were straight 10/10s, especially in The End of Time. Even if he's only back for one scene in the specials, I'll be more than happy.
1:56 This fade in gives me massive chills. You can see the look on the Doctor's face and Donna's face. I am not very confident in the future of Donna Noble, but, I am so glad she seems to be able to go out with a bang.
Well when Donna’s memory was wiped many many fans said they had rather she died but with all the memories… so… wouldn’t put it past RTD to break our hearts and tell us it’s what we wanted
@@sirhenrysimmerson9385why do you hope not? every actor i've seen (only seen new who) has been incredible, some were subjected to horrible writing far worse than others which is why so many people didn't like jodie (as well as misogyny obviously). if you can't separate incredible acting from bad writing, watch other things she's been in like broadchurch. every actor whose played the doctor has been a truly fantastic actor, anyone who says otherwise is being silly
This looks so good, I love the little here we go again from the Doctor as well as Donna’s constant identification of aliens being Martian, after all that’s what she assumed the Doctor was in the Runaway Bride
"I don't know if I can save your life this time." That got me in the feels 😢 Donna is my all-time favourite companion, and Tennant is my favourite doctor. I can't wait 😌
I have a bad feeling Donna will say something along the lines of “I’d rather remember you for only a minute and die rather than live for an eternity where I forget you” and she dies in the end after saving the world
I love that the Tenth Doctor's last words were, "I don't want to go". Every Doctor leaves unfinished business, but I kind of liked seeing this one return and have that moment of realization that he's back... and that something must be terribly wrong. He didn't want to go, but now that he's back, it's not a relief. That's very in-line with the Doctor: when something looks like it's going right, that's when it's the most dangerous.
10th first words were "New teeth... that's weird". 14th's first words were "I know these teeth". In the same closed-circle spirit, I expect, and hope, that when 14th regenerates, his last words will be "I'm ready to go"
Never thought I'd live to see the day where we get David Tennant and Catherine Tate back on screen as the legendary Dr Who duo. Legit so excited for this.
"I don't know if I can save your life this time" - I've teared up already. Going to be in floods when I watch this. I can't wait for November, I'm so excited.
I’m so happy they’re taking this seriously I’m doing everything in their power to bring the show back to what it was!! for the first time I’m actually really excited for new episodes
This is gonna be...wait for it..Legendary. With Donna coming back I know there are gonna be all the feels with Bernard gone. It just won't be the same without him. Looking forward to this so much.
@@MrTriplej79 Man, it would suck if the reason he isn't in these trailers is because his family is asking for big bucks to use him in the show after his passing. It would be a shame for greed to get in the way of Cribbins' last show.
@@spideyh7111 Yeah the 60th is three Specials "The Star Beast", "The Wild Blue Yonder", and "The Giggle" all in November, then theres also the Christmas special for christmas
Donna and Clara are my all time favorite companions. I can't wait to see Donna come back. I hated how her story ended--of all the Doctor's companions, Donna had come so far as a person, only to lose it all.
Exactly. I don't know how people say that Rose's ending was the saddest, at least she got a version of the Doctor to live with. Donna lost all memory of everything that she did with the Doctor, that had me bawling.
I had a friend who had a few personal demons, and one of those demons took his life before the reveal of the new Doctor (or should I say the old one). He loved David; like me. He was and is our favorite Doctor. He would have loved to see him return, and I am so happy that he is back, even if it's only for a while. I couldn't be more excited for the next season; Allons-y!
I genuinely love this trailer so much and it’s because through it you can actually see that the villain feels threatening and has an over arching weight to the specials
Smiles, just pure smiles the entire trailer. "Something so bad the Tardis ran away?" "Ye-yes." "Then we go and kick it's arse!" -Man that was fantastic. Can barely wait for it.
I have never been happier to see two actors reprise their roles. Tate and Tennant are my favorite Doctor Who duo, and their return is definitely triggering some emotions, all good though, and it made me realize how I missed these characters for many years now.
This is clever stuff from RTD, he can start his second run with comforting familiarity for the anniversary special, then introduce the actual next era to the audience.
Gotta be honest, none of us know how this will play out until broadcast, but when The Doctor tell Donna that he's not sure he can save her life this time, I held my breath and then a second later the face of The Doctor who may be able to appeared: Ncuti Gatwa. This would make his entrance extremely Epic if it unfolds like this; a Doctor struck down to rise again in victory.
This gives me an idea a brilliant idea. What if the reason this special is happening is because Donna is possibly going to be the 15th doctor companion because think about it she’s never seen him regenerate into a new form and it would be like repeating a cycle rose started out with the 9th Doctor and then watched him regenerate into the 10th so Donna would be watching the 14th doctor regenerate into the 15th
I, personally, am not allowed to judge him, as I wasn't there, when his original tenior (2005~2010) took place. I *was* alive back then - born 2001 - but the first Doctor Who episode who's release I actually witnessed when getting interested in the show was *The Return of Doctor Mysterio*.
I genuinely really liked Tennant's run, but I kinda feel like he benefitted from such a long run as the character, especially counting the returns and thus gets more favoritism than even Baker with most fans. Personally, I thought Capaldi was the best Doctor, but at the same time, suffered from a higher number of pretty bland stories during his shorter run that prevented him from shining as much as Tennant or even Smith who had much more room to recover from the occasional bland stories.
@@ClockMaster-mq2hmwhy would it be relevant whether you watched his run as it happened? As long as you’ve watched it, you can have an opinion. Otherwise the majority of fans wouldn’t be able to have an opinion on older Doctors
For me, it's Matt's run because he was actually the first one I saw, so Amy Pond will always hold a very special place in my heart. But David's run is probably my second favorite, and Catherine Tate's Donna was great too. So I'm glad to see them back, for a little while.
My favourite era is when they have episodes with The Doctor in them. And Mission to the Unknown as well, though I'm saving that one up and haven't watched it yet...
David is just an A+ actor. So much emotion so well conveyed so passionate rage, despair, joy, all of it. All while charismatically prancing about in a tight suit.
Has a real cinematic crisp to it. Russel did say something about using film tech used in Marvel projects. David Tennant is on top form and Cathrine Tate once again bringing her trademark comedy style to the screen. I mean, she makes “We’ve got a bloody Martian in the shed!” sound hilarious. Ncuti Gatwa hasn’t even started his tenure yet but seeing him at the end and previous trailer already shows he’s going to be terrific and hyped especially fresh off the finale of Sex Education.
I think they've used some of the Mouse's money to spring for a 'Volume' - a super high resolution curved video wall that reacts to current camera position, providing real-time backdrops in situations that would have otherwise been green screened
Him saying I don't think I can save you this time hurt so much because Donna looks like she's lived a good life. maybe a little whistful at the fact she lost the doctor, but I really hope she doesn't die. It would absolutely tear out my heart
Let's pause and give thanks that NPH is The Toymaker!!! I'm almost as excited to see that, as I am about seeing David and Catherine together again! There is no downside to any of this 😁💙
Wow, I cannot wait to see everything unfold in these specials, it is going to be one hell of a 60th anniversary, Tennant, Tate, Toymaker, Ncuti, Beep, and so much more! Absolutely fantastic to see Kate Stewart confirmed for the specials, though I wish we saw Wilf and had a release date which we still haven't gotten either yet. Alons-y!
@@HodgeyyYeah that's right, Bernard Cribbins did film a few scenes and his role will moat likely be minor, but as long as we see him that's definitely better than nothing!
I have never been so giddy and excited in my life, the level of excitement i have is unreal. This show has had such a huge impact on my life, more so Russell T Davies, David Tennant & Catherine Tate. We are truly in for something special! Roll on November 🤩 this is what is gonna put doctor who back on the map like how it was back in the 2000s 100% 🤩🤩🙌🙌🙌
I feel the same level of excitement, happiness and anticipation. Donna and the Doctor were my favourite duo, although the Doctor and Rose were brilliant, but this pairing was like 2 old friends. Their dynamic was funny, warm and chaotic so this anniversary special is the 1 I cannot wait to see! My dad used to love watching Doctor Who with Catherine and David, but he passed away nearly 8yrs ago, and he would have enjoyed seeing this 😢

YES DONNA NOBLE IS BACK, i felt she always deserved another season after how amazingly she performed in her season and we all know and love david tennants doctor. These two have been missed and im so stoked to see them return for a special
Damn, I completely forgot that she was only a one-season companion (and not even a full season, at that). Her character is so iconic and looms large over the series.
@@yhyh8990 How? You realise it's still being written by Russell right? And Gatwa is a phenomenal actor, if anything it looks like the series is back on track

I haven't watched this show in ages but I sure hope they bring back Christopher Eccleston in this the 9th doctor I know everybody loves David Tennant but Christopher really got me liking the series back then.
Eccleston is not coming back anytime soon. He's made it very clear he did not enjoy his time on the show (though that's more the BBC's fault than the show itself) and he specifically does not like doing continuations or sequel stuff. They've offered him time and again to return, during Tennant's run itself, the 50th anniversary and the 60th as well. And I believe a standalone with him returning was offered also, but don't quote me on that one.
I think he mentioned he'd be happy to do a standalone in the past. However, since I think (if I remember rightly) his falling out was with Russel, I highly doubt this will happen during Russel's run unfortunately@@LordLOC
@@sglenny001 I'm glad someone else thinks he is also better than Tennant. I'm not saying Tennant is bad or anything he did a good job of playing the doctor I just liked Christopher's version of playing the doctor more his personality and version of him was just pure and seemed more human like not to mention him and Rose were just a great duo.
Oh my actual god I got full body shivers watching this and that is something I have not experienced in a very long time. I am ungodly amounts of excited
Can't we just have David Tennant back forever? I never want him to go! 💙 Also, I love Doctor Donna! The best paring since the 4th Doctor and Sarah Jane.
But then we can't have him as Crowley & Good Omens. 😢 I liked him as the Doctor, but we have to let him. Create new characters for us to fall in love with.
@@itwasagoodideaatthetime7980 yes! I'm with you on this! All his characters are amazing, however imo Crowley is by a hair's breadth the absolute best. 😎
I didn't like the character or the performance in The Runaway Bride, but Donna became one of my all time favourite supporting characters, right up there with Sarah Jane and the Brigadier. I think that's mostly due to Catherine Tate's development. I'm excited to see her and David Tennant back together, but I was (still am) hoping that the dead-yet-not-dead Bill Potts will make a comeback. I think they should have given her a longer run and I thought Pearl Mackie was brilliant.
I’ve got chills with the return of Donna Noble, if she needs to remember to save the day it must be big. Fantastic to see David Tennant back even for a special💚 RTD please save this beloved franchise🙏
Unfortunately it doesn't look like he will as he has refused to undo the Timeless children and doesn't look like he will side step it ether. I have grave concerns beyond what i have just mentioned as well, i mean having such a big blockbuster Hollywood look it will fade into the background of all other shows out there instead of the aesthetics remaining unique to me it just looks like an Avengers cross over with the tower and the music they have used for the trailers as well that actually sounds like music from Hollywood film trailers i think a more jazzed up theme with some remanence of the theme would've been far better ( maybe like little teaser of the new theme as it wasn't out when this trailer was released ) as the music here to me has no connection to Doctor Who and as i said above just sounds like the music in all Hollywood movie trailers i have watched. So to summarise i'm afraid of the big budget look making the series fade into the background by making it look like every other show out there. i feel its a genuine rational concern given how this trailer looks.
One of the best actors to grace us as the doctor. He really has a lot of compassion for this show and I'm just so excited he's back to excite and most likely break our hearts again
I know it. It's like righteous anger mixed with a kind of helplessness at controlling his own rage against an injustice, and what the Doctor(s) *will* do to make things right.
just watched the trailer again....and I still can't believe it. Seeing them back again is like having a real life dream come true! It was hard enough watching him go the first time. I'll just cherish these 3 episodes and then hope for the best!
I haven't been too keen on doctor who for the past few years, but this is bringing back a lot of nostalgia and hoping this special is as good as the older episodes!
It's a shame because I thought the actors were great in the last seasons. But the writing has been so bland and uncreative. Moffat was wildly inconsistent showrunner in quality, but when he was good, he was great. Chibnall was consistently dull to me.
The stories will be so much better now Davies is back... I didn't like some of the last series stories... Felt like we were being taught to suck eggs again...
Donna and the Doctor is to this day the absolute best team this show has ever seen I can’t wait to see what happens…I just hope it doesn’t end in heartbreak…Again.
NPH looks like he had the time of his life filming this, and knowing his past work I can only anticipate he put all of that enjoyment and energy into the performance. We could be in store for an all time great villain performance.
WOW!! THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF DOCTOR WHO LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO BE AMAZING!! THE DOCTOR & DONNA AGAIN!! I REALLY NEED DONNA TO REMEMBER THE DOCTOR AND EVERYTHING ELSE WITHOUT HER DYING!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
