I’m a huge Kanata fan, even amongst the rest of the Holomems she still stands out. They all have their own strengths and weaknesses, some of them incredibly so, for her it was a physical one, a struggle she was beyond terrified of, something she didn’t have any control over. I don’t think I’ll ever forget the day when she talked to us, telling us what her doctor told her after she went for a checkup. She speaks in Japanese of course, so it was hard to understand without translators, which thanks to some members of the chat, and clippers of course, we here overseas understood what she was telling us. She was scared, she didn’t know what to do, her friends were there for her, we kept telling her not to push herself and take as much time off as necessary so that she doesn’t hurt herself. But she refused, she pulled through, and through that experience she managed to improve a lot, she found her voice, something to make her special, something that only she could do. Seeing where she is now, after what happened years ago, it’s honestly rather nice. I hope this brings her more attention, she definitely deserves it, the same could be said for all of Hololive In general honestly. Those girls work themselves to death, 17 hour work days really aren’t fun, especially when you hardly get time to yourself. Many of them all have similar stories to Kanata, they’re all extremely talented, but it isn’t just talent, you can see them grow overtime, see them become so much more than they started out as. What they have is all earned, they worked for the abilities they have now, all their talents, all their capabilities, none of that was just given to them, you can tell what they struggle with, and what struggles they overcame simply by looking. JP, ID, EN, so many branches all with the same story of overcoming adversity. We’ve lost many along the way for one reason or another, but those that stuck around have grown from it. As Fubuki once told us, “As long as I’m still here, you can put your faith in Hololive.” If ever they tried to force her to say something nice about the company when she doesn’t have anything nice to say, if Hololive ever becomes a “black company” (it’s a term used in Japan essentially meaning a company which overworks and abuses their staff) Fubuki promised us she would quit. When China attacked Hololive because Coco called Taiwan a country, she stood by her friend even knowing what that would do to her reputation, she was the most popular VTuber and third most popular RU-vidr/BiliBili account in China at the time, she threw it all away because she wasn’t going to let her friend be attacked like that. Hololive is full of not just talent, but integrity, enough so that even Toby Fox can appreciate them. I could go on and on about each of the members both past and present, but I think I’ll end it here.

The waiting is KILLING me

Reading Toby’s words have helped me. I’ve been getting some bad rng in life rn and I’ve just been feeling sorry for myself. He’s been an inspiration for me in my journey of music writing and production, his style of using leitmotifs to connect ideas and mixing electronic instruments with contemporary sounds make my synapses fire with inspiration. Knowing that the ones I look up to can relate the pain of doubt and still struggle too gives me hope that I can still find my own way to my dreams. Thank you Toby Fox :)

I love the Papyrus and San interview, it reminded me why I loved those two characters in Undertale! Also, Toby Fox said that the game is a long way off from being finished, I assume he meant chapters 3 & 4, which is the next wave set to be released. I'm guessing they're not going to be ready by the end of this year then, but who knows? Glad to hear things are getting done quicker and more efficiently than ever! ...Are you going to make a new video for every Toby Fox newsletter?

5:57. Toby has wrist issues too? That’s insane cuz Zack Morrison, who introduced me to Undertale, also has wrist issues. Which has prevented him from finishing his comic Paranatural as a comic. They're both friends, and Toby has even referenced Paranatural in Deltarune. also, talking about Kanata reminds me of how Neru (a vocaloid producer) is losing their hearing too. And it’s horrible, I love his music so much. Just a lot of coincidences.
