Tommy was one hell of a fighter. Its sad that he is depicted as a chinless white hope with a left hook from hell, as he was so much more. He fought with a lot of heart, didn't duck anyone and most of all - resurrected his career after taking perhaps the most savage KO in recent history. Viva Tommy !
I wouldn't say Tommy was chinless. In my eyes he would just get careless or lazy when it came to his training which led to him getting knocked out. Because the times he was knocked out they were from visious punches man that would of knocked down most heavyweights.

On any other day Tommy morrison would have knocked bentt out right, he just assumed bentt was an easy ko after his foreman fight, he obviously didn't take bentt seriously and dropped his guard as bennts record and reputation was nothing compared to foreman, Tommy and all of the other opposition that Tommy had faced before, but hey you can't win them all, but I still think that Tommy won either way, bentt was never a match for Tommy, Tommy just didn't think he was a threat so steamed in and never kept his hands up

Morrison was probably peak here. Fought smart. Looked very athletic. Physique was A+. Seemed very healthy as opposed to the history he had of partying.

When tommy faced tillis he knocked him out in the first round easily.

Lewis at that point in his career would've been a tough nut to crack for any version of Morrison. I thought Tommy fought too conservatively in that matchup and should've let it hang out a little more in the early rounds. Opening up with a lot of pressure and some explosive punching might've burned Tommy out early and gotten him stopped sooner, but it could've been his best chance at getting to and knocking out Lennox.
Yeah Lennox Lewis got stopped by Oliver McCall in the second. Sadly Tommy never landed a solid left hook in that fight. If he would've, it would've definitely been a different story.
He went running three times a week for half an hour a time, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. He trained all his body parts with weights for high reps 12-20 reps so he would have endurance in the ring. He ate very clean, no junk food,or sweets. He openly admits to taking steroids by the way. I am not joking about the steroids; if you look up old interviews you will find him openly talking about it. He said all heavyweights in the 90s did it too.

Although The Duke is my favorite boxer ever, I fucking love George foreman. I wish that man had a sitcom. He's a great, sweet, humble human being and I love and respect that man very much. There's a special place in heaven for George foreman rest assured, and R.I.P. the Duke, very sad circumstances and may God nurture his soul
What has happened to Tommy is he still around? Great boxer appeared to have everything from power, fitness and personality. Two great champs from a time when heavyweights were much more exciting !

Cool. I'll work on getting Morrison vs. Foreman uploaded next. Definitely one of his "signature" fights and, in my opinion, a career-best performance for Tommy. Perhaps you could ask him if he agrees with that assessment.
Tommy looked in tremendous shape here. However in the Documentary it was reported that even this version of him was tainted by the partying and alcohol. Such a shame. He was so close to beating Mercer before his downfall, it was a failure of strategy, going all out and leaving nothing in the tank. A devastating Ko that I suspect had lasting brain damage. Even so, had he remained on the straight and Narrow after that loss, I suspect a shock loss to Bent could have been avoided and maybe made the Lewis fight more competitive. Only recently discovered Morrison, his style is great to watch and though his story is a sad one, it’s all the more epic for it.
@@theinformationbomber7102 With the Amateur win over Morrision, it certainly was in Mercers favour. But again I think it was a failure of strategy on Morrisons part. He was gassed and could not take the punches when they finally got thrown back at him.
This fight always bothered me. Foreman looked as if he was holding back, like he was trying to carry Morrison. I know Foreman was 44 and past it, but still: Foreman was still a beast, yet he didn't throw many punches and basically just walked around the ring following Morrison.
