Cool honest review I see so many trailers claiming they are off road when they are NOT this trailer has more off road features than most but is short of off road. Depending on your definition of off road of coarse if you off road vehicle is a subaroo you will be fine. If you have 35" tires and lockers it is not. If you drive faster than a Jeeple centipede spotting each other off the curb through the desert it is not.
thanks for showing your trailer. yes the music was a little loud and could not hear you well but watched other videos about the tc teardrop trailers pretty simple and cool little trailers nice upgrade from a tent and sleeping on the ground.
Thanks for the video, explained a lot information i was wondering about. I'm going to try and make it to asheville NC and see one of these in October, camping in a tent has gotten a little tedious for me and this seems the logical answer for me.
Hey. Great video. Weird part is I live right down the street from you (if you live where you have been parking your Outback recently). I have been driving and running past your house and have been admiring your rig(s). They look cool in person!!
Cool gig, thanks for teh video. How long does the climate right AC last on the battery? Or is it that you cant run this on battery , you have to be connected to 100 power at camp?. Also I have read very poor review about Climateright, what is your experience?
Been working with Todd and Carol to build our teardrop. Our biggest conflict now is color and 5x8 or 5x9. TC is going to offer gas struts for galley hatch soon. Not sure I understood why you don't think they are a good idea. Considering those so would like to have your opinion on that. What was it you have wired on the inside? A battery meter. Was hoping to get Todd to do some wiring for a 120 volt in cabin and galley for plugin for electric blanket etc. in cold weather. Had that on our old Little Guy, but that wiring connected to an external outlet at campsite, did not run off the marine battery. Great setup!!! P.S, What color is that?
Grant, thanks for the video, really helped me with some ideas for my own build. Question for you, hoping you could help. Where did you get the full screen zipper doors?
Great video Grant - you mentioned you get about 24mpg in your outback after all mods. What do you achieve with this trailer in tow loaded for a trip? I'm struggling with a setup that would be efficient for hunting. I would need to carry a chest freezer at around 5 cubic ft. for game, which probably wouldn't be feasible with your setup. Any suggestions would be great.
Great info, love the setup.the wife and I have a casita trailer,it has the stock awning,I've been wondering about the fox wing awning, there is a rino rack dealer near Denver but haven't got there yet.how long is the awning and what sort of mounting brackets does it come with? Have you had any issues with the fox wing? Only thing is I dislike all the tent poles, because they have to be stowed separate right? Hope you'll do a review of the fox wing in depth as possible. Glad I found your channel.
I prefer replacing the rims with proper backspacing to the extenders, but I too do not like the look of the onboard water tank fill valve if you ever come across a style that looks better please update. my rig creaks and rattles like an old cj
Thanks for a very informative video! I have a 2015 Subaru and we are looking for something like this. How tall are you please? I notice you had to do some ducking to get to the back galley. Am wondering how much we will have to duck, at height 6'0" I especially appreciated all the details about the add-ons you did.
Be careful about thinking that "Better Built" box is secure (generator storage). They NEED a lock on each side. Those CAN be opened from the non-lock side, even when locked. I've lost $100s worth of tools due to that box.
Great video and big fan of your subi build. Did you take this on any difficult trails or feel confident to do so? Any thoughts especially towing it on inclines at a crawl? Looking forward to the winch mount for the gen 4. Thanks.
Good Job! Really Liked that you give names & model numbers on things like yours AC unit so we can look them up. BUT!!! Background music makes it difficult to understand you sometimes. Between 8:02 to 8:36 was great - no music. Then you found another song. Wonderful job but you just don't need background music. Maybe music for an intro then just your voice for detail info thereafter.
What class hitch do you use? I have the 2.5l 2016. Book says 2700lbs 200 tongue. That is a class two but should i still put class 3 so i have a 2" receiver?
How did towing this trailer affect the offroad ability of your Outback? I'm considering a similar setup, but I'm concerned about having trouble crossing ditches, etc. I've towed extensively on-road (not with an Outback) but never offroad.
@@FreedomVanGo Why are you being an ass to your viewers? You have to cater to your viewers in order to get to 'like', subscribe, and view your videos. People have asked you nicely to turn off the music while you are talking, not criticizing you. Smh..
Background music has to go, dude is kinda mumbling to begin with then the music just completely ruins it - not needed and it’s just way too distracting. This could’ve been a great review, but for what’s actually covered could’ve been 5 minutes.
JC White : Right..? This cat took a few rips, got a lil motivation to film a quick vid. I swear i can smell some skunky chron wofting out that door as he sits there....
