Thanks for this. Close to submitting the final build list for mine -- really like the mods you've done, especially the Lithium battery. Did you have them do some of the basic wiring and then install your own battery? I would be interested in a Lithium battery option if TC sold one as an option.
Sorry for being years late! All the basic wiring from the tool box to the cabin/galley was installed already. I opted to add a charger, switch panel, cut off, etc after delivery on my own. But they install whatever you want but it comes at a cost.
@@michaelmurray4137 appreciate you getting back even if it took years! I reckon you were out enjoying your TC! We ended up getting an AGM battery since we don't power much beyond lights and fans. When that craps out it looks like the solar charger / battery tender options we also went for include modes to power lithium batteries. Happy camping!
Awesome review. Did u pick this up in Wisconsin? Are you from CA? Did you get it delivered? And what was the cost if you did. Im in LA and I’m considering getting one.
Great question bc we just ordered ours and we’re from SoCal too. I wouldn’t mind a cross country road trip but if there’s another option, I’d like to know.
I was living in CA at the time and had it delivered because registering was weird in CA since it comes direct from the manufacturer. Delivery was the biggest cost by far so try to avoid it.
Nice tour! Where did you find the bamboo bins on your top shelf of the galley? Also, did you add the 5 switch panel on the outside, or did TC Teardrop install that? We own the 5 X 10 of the same model.
I found them and all the other bins in the galley at the Container store . I opted to add a bit of electrical myself after it was delivered. But they’ll install whatever you’d like. You just have to pay for it.
I had to modify my cooler and put a nozzle and small hose where the drain plug is. Then drilled a hole out the bottom. It was a bit of a pain at first because it would clog up. So be sure to put a screen in the cooler to catch anything that may clog it up.
Really anything can tow this trailer…jeep/Subaru, etc. but with XJs, you always run into overheating. I towed this with my XJ (without electric trailer brakes hooked up at the time) from California to New Hampshire. The only problem I had was heading over the San Bernardino mountain pass. I was red lining the whole way up, but it was also 110 degrees in July so there’s only so much you can expect out of the Jeep.
