Hey...I took 2nd on my mahi in the Womens Dolphin Tournament out of Islamorada years ago...that was hiding out under a potato chip bag!!! Crews always loved having me on board cuz I could see debri, birds & weedline... buncha jellies out there today!!!🤟
i absolutly love your videos. you are by far the best fishing youtuber out there. over bama saltwater, black tip and all of them. i have learned so much from your videos, i have watched countless amount of your videos and it GENUENLY shocks me that you dont have at least 1 million subscribers. i hope you have a great day and thank you for the fun times.
also, when bottom fishing with the heavier egg sinkers (1 to 4 oz. depending upon the current that day), we drifted (did not have an electric motor) and dropped to the bottom and then left the reel in free spool thumbing it for probably 20 to 30 yards, if something grabbed it, it would run off and you wait a few seconds and then nail them, if not, you engage the reel, reel up, check the bait, and do it again, you cover a lot more ground that way and have a better shot at encountering more than just bonito
I have been offshore fishing for over 40 years and I think there seems to be a new trend of toll trolling a little too quick sometimes . we used to catch a lot of super big kingfish trolling 3 to 5 miles an hour with feather Jigs and cigar minnows . and we'd also catch a lot of mahi that way something to think about.
forgot to add that we used whole frozen sardines (i guess the fresh mullet would be a better alternative) with their tails cut off to help reduce their spin and you dropped them to the bottom, hooked through both eyes, also, if you are going to use a lighter weight, try chopping up some bonitos into small chunks and chum with them, it could bring some yellowtail or other stuff up off of the bottom to your baits (we had success doing this too with the endless supply of bonito around)
We caught Mahi just outside of Moriches inlet, just off of Cupsouge a few years ago. We also got Spanish macks that same year. We were shocked, to say the least.
I found myself binge-watching every episode so far. I live in Florida and love our fishery, and as a bayou fisherman I am wanting to catch a Mahi Mahi. Can I charter you, and what is the cost. I will save up.
I would try a bit more weight to get to the bottom for muttons, aj's, etc. I fished off of Jupiter on my cousin's boat many times and if you can get the baits past the bonito to the bottom, there is a variety of fish (we usually fished 80 to 140 feet) such as porgies, sand tilefish, toros, muttons, other snappers, and various groupers.
Hey subscribed after seeing you fish the 7 mile bridge in a kayak! Rad stuff brother, visited a friend in Ft. Lauderdale and we decide to take my 16ft stinger bay boat out to fish the 7mile caught lots of stuff. This was a week ago. Did some chumming, only had a mangrove snapper to keep! Weather got bad on us had some big seas had to come in. Anyway keep up the good work looking forward to some more great catches! Hey what kind of boat are you fishing? Feel like it’s a perfect mix for flats and offshore. Cheers 🍻
whenever i go offshore i rig ballyhoo on one of the plugs and that one tends to be the one to get the bite before the bare plugs do. sometimes they prefer it
I wish I could go offshore like this more often but I don’t know anyone that would take me and I don’t have a boat so I usually just go during tournaments and other than that I stick to inshore (hence the name, referencing tarpon)
As usual awesome video !!@@# mann I think I enjoy your fishing videos more than u enjoy fishing lol it's crazy...... keep them coming loving the offshore videos never really saw people use mullet tho different 💯💯❤
Consider zig-zaggen a little when trolling, it will create speed diffences and variet movement of the lure. Also depth changes of your planer or kuusamo is good way to intice a bit. Also have you ever considered getting a Panoptix transducer, gives a whole different view for both trolling and jigging.
As usual, GREAT Stuff! Your production quality and especially your productivity really put you at the top of fishing RU-vidrs! I like to support other YTers but getting real tired of once a month content providing. Keep on rocking it Dude; you’re the best! Ps great to see your buddy get his first Mahi.
Wow man your buddy got lucky with that planer line. When you asked him to reel it in he was wrapping the line around his hands. If a Wahoo or King sock that thing he is screwed. Good stuff man. I sent you a DM on Insta
