I have the exact same OG-107, but with six visible buttons, with a the better sleeves around the hands, that have an option to* open the sleeve. But still a great comparison.

To be precise, the shoulder patch is for a Specialist, Fourth Grade (a "Spec-4"), pretty much equivalent to a Corporal, both pay grade E-4. Specialists paralleled Noncommissioned Officers (NCOs/Sergeants) for pay Grades E-5 through E-9, although I personally never saw a rank higher than "Spec 7", i think due to the fact that Specialists in the two highest Grades usually transitioned to Warrant Officer status. The "Modern" Army retains "Specialist" as a rank, sort of a "Junior Corporal", kind of like the British "Lance Corporal" rank. There was some level of correspondence between the World War 2 "Technical" Ranks, though I think "Tech Sergeants" grades ran the other way, from "T5" upwards to "T1" (not really sure about this}. Thanks for the work you do, hope this helps.

I have a question to ask for your expertise please. What if a jacket has the same silhouette as the OG-107 P-58 type 1 jacket including the same style and size of the chest pockets. But, the fabric used is HBT with 6 13-star buttons. How do you call this type of jacket? Thank you.

Untill when was the HBT uniform worn or like the last stocks were used up?? I have a ww2 one with nametags so it should be still be used 1952/53.

I am not for sure when the last HBT uniforms were issued. but they were used all thru Korea and after into at least 1956-57 Because I have some that have patches with the Gold Chevron on the sleeves , which were not used until around 1956 I believe. Although the utility 107 uniform start being used around 1952-53 There were people still wearing their HBT uniforms , according to a lot of pictures I’ve seen.

Thanks for nice video! I'm watching from Japan. I have a question I would like to ask,but I'm sorry for my poor English. I have a jacket which has the same features:buttons,pockets,sleeves.However my jacket has epaulets like 1st pattern jungle fatigue.Have you ever seen it or heard any informations of it?
@WebGearReview
@WebGearReview 4 года назад
Yes I have heard of that. Some of the military personnel would have modifications made to the Shirts such as shoulder loops extra pockets , and cuffs on the sleeves. Thanks for watching all the way from Japan

E V your jacket is a nice part of history . It was against regulations, But some of the soldiers did it anyway To make them look more appealing to the eye.
