“OG KPOP STAN": supposedly "original gangster”, can be seen as “old generation", personally viewed as “old-school”.🤓
I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music was my coping mechanism from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and it's stuck by me ever since. When I made this RU-vid name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so... OG + KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛

6:06 I was shocked because you very accurately described TXT's concept not even after 1 listen. (for this song but also as a whole, treating the transition to a new period in your life, even using the word "chapter"!?) Are the lyrics that good or are your analyse and reactions amazing? I don't even know. I won't spoil the symbolism and all the story but, like, you should be a theorist with such quick thinking and accurate deductions.

This song is based on the real life incident of a puma that escaped the zoo in South Korea which was shot to death after a few hours of freedom. So the song has both literal and metaphorical meaning.

Their other song with dark aesthetics is Can’t You See Me (from the same album as puma). Cat and Dog (from the same album as crown) is like a fusion of hip hop and cute concept. Please do react to Run Away too, it has a really unique concept.

Thank you for taking such interest in txt! Sometimes it’s hard for us moas to get them that publicity and to get people interested in them, especially in the beginning of their careers when they were just seen as bts’s baby brother group. It’s so great that they’re are getting much more of a name for themselves now! If I could recommend anything, it would be either Can’t You See Me, Nap of the Star, or Run Away. Can’t you see me is from the same EP as Puma so it has a bit of the same dark undertone that you seemed to like so much. Nap of the Star is more story and vocal based. It doesn’t have a choreography but the music video is so creative and their performance is so beautiful. Run Away was the title track to their second album. It’s not as dark as Can’t you see me and has a Harry Potter theme to it. It’s super cool and very well done. Angel vs Devil is also really good, it comes from the same album. Of course, I wouldn’t want to overwhelm you with too many recommendations so just do whatever you feel. As a fan of both your channel and TXT your reactions are always very much appreciated so it doesn’t really matter to me what you decide to react to next, I’lol always enjoy what you put out :))

Oh yeah, the song is based on the story of a puma that got away from a zoo, enjoyed freedom for the first time but got shot by the police after a few hours. That was a scandal in Korea a few years back. They used it as symbolism for the concept and lyrics and it also ties into their TXT Universe, the +U. Hence the storytelling aspect.

Another meaning of Puma is , Their suffering in a "cage", the moment they debuted, they started facing different harsh criticisms from the world, people started putting different false accusations on them. "Enemies" here might represent the antis who are always keeping an eye on them and trying to put them down. Because they were the first Big Hit group to debut after BTS, They found themselves on the end of hate

the thing about txt is that their albums follow a storyline. so the first album is where they, like, find each other so everything's bright and happy = crown. next album is the introduction of the problem or where the storyline plot thickens = run away. next album the friendship is falling apart = can't you see me. so, yeah. the concepts gets darker every album. blue hour was bright and happy again because it's kind of the pause before they go into the new chapter which moas think is the chaos chapter.

loved it! txt has amazing choreos. they do dance practices even for songs that doesn't have a mv, so i hope you react to them as well in the future. next has to be cat & dog, new rules and i would love to see fairy of shampoo too(this one has more of a jazzy, chill and mature vibe, they're even wearing suits, hahah).

I’m so glad you seem to be enjoying txt! I think you’d enjoy ‘can’t you see me’ if you want to explore their darker concept more. They also performed a version of puma with a dance break at the golden disk awards at the beginning of the year which is impressive (they have a dance practice that includes the dance break on their channel)

You should see TXT's Dream: concept trailer. Their story telling is so interesting. TXT have a lot of "cute" songs, but when they entered the Magical World during the Dream era, some concepts turned Dark.

I wanna recommend B-side songs because they have a peculiar shine, but maybe a title or a song with a dark concept would be good for a reaction. (I realized while making the recommandation list that they have *a lot* of iconic choreos with cool concepts) B-side: *1)* My favorite is Fairy of Shampoo, dreamy romantic concept, they have a Mnet performance for that one, but any performance is good. *2)* Angel or Devil, the choreo is very interesting and mischievous. The MV or their M2 performance. *3)* Can't we just leave the monster alive, the choreo is crazy hard and crazy beautiful, it's iconic. *4)* New Rules, got tons of views, it's punk and iconic. Studio Choom video. *5)* Cat & Dog, it's light hip hop. *Sorry, too much good B-sides* Title: *1)* 3/4 Quarters (Run Away), the concept is also very different and surprising. *2)* Can't you see me?, it's DARK. I recommend can’t you see me. It’s the title track for this the album this song puma is in (puma is just a b-side) and can’t you see me is very dark and deep, but like the sad type. There are so much hidden messages in the music video of cant you see me too! I also recommend ‘run away’ too’ it has a rock feel too becuase of the guitars in the chorus. Cat and dog is a bright version of puma in my opinion lol it’s very animalistic but the cutesy version. The puma dance practice just again proves that txt are formation kings 😩

Cat and Dog is a great song and FIRE 🔥 choreo, but if you like darker themes, maybe Can’t You See Me? As far as songs to listen to, they are probably going to have a lot more darker themes and concepts in the next upcoming album because we are moving into the Chaos Chapter. So you can look forward to that haha. Most of the existing tracks are gonna be feel good/funky vibes that are gonna put a smile on your face.

Love your analysis of 'Puma' - the members themselves talked about how challenging this choreo was for them (straightening their leg in that first intro was just the beginning). I personally love 'Can't We Just Leave the Monster Alive?' - one of their B-side songs with a back story from the "Dream Chapter: Magic". 'Can't You See Me?' was a title track release from their "Dream Chapter: Eternity", same as the 'Puma" album. 'Cat and Dog' is an early release, it's a song about obsession but in a horror-like aegyo way, if that makes sense (I can't find another way to describe it). Have fun with TXT - they have a fan meeting this weekend and have been reminiscing the two years since their debut (MOAs can't believe it's only been two years, it feels longer...).

Actually the song compares to them escaping zoo or "debuting" but instead of the world opening their arms for them, they were met with alot of criticism and hate because they're under the same label as BTS. That's why the rap part says "Still too young to stand alone, This world is a jungle full of warriors, The sight is aiming at your throat, A thousand eyes are accessing the internet Be careful, your enemies spread in an instant “How long does it take to reach your dream?”. You should also check out the title track of this comeback "Cant You See Me"! It's very dark & emotional too. It's funny how they did Cat & Dog then turning into Pumas haha! You should definitely check out "Can't You See Me" next, it's the title track from the album where Puma is in it, so it stills a dark vibe but in very different way comparing to Puma, you'll get it when you watch it haha. And then I think you should check out "Runaway" after it, it's a lighter comeback compared to CYSM era, it has this more "magical" vibe to it, but it's not as light and soft as Blue Hour and Crown.

For another darker side I would suggest CAN'T YOU SEE ME...it is the tilte track of the ALBUM with PUMA Something in between maybe ANGEL OR DEVIL; maybe WE LOST OUR SUMMER or DRAMA.....They show they are versatile if you want a good vocal track check out 20CM

If you like dark concepts you should watch can't you see me!! That was also dark with a very deep meaning plus the choreography was A+ this is where the TXT universe went 👆☝👇👉☝👆👇👉☝👆👇👉☝👆☝ And also eternally!! It is like two song smudged together😭💕 plus the mv is like a short movie!! If you want fantasy like concept try run away this is my fav. TXT title track and the bibidi bobidi part was catchy as hell plus the choreography😭 If you like cute and fun concept try Cat & Dog!! That song will make you bark HAJSGAJSHS If you want about the Pandemic concept i recommend we lost the summer!! The mv is very relatable about the struggles of the Pandemic!! PLEASE REACT TO ETERNALLY BY TXT NEXT! it’s one of the best MV in Kpop, you can’t literally find anything better then that, it’s ABSOLUTE ART and I think it matched your preferences well! But I gotta say you should listen to music video before watching mv cause the MV is 19min long short horror movie and music gets cut in between but the music is worth listening cause it’s mind blowing so pls trust me! I loved your analyze on TXT concept. Puma is my favorite along with run away and CYSM. I really love how the puma song was related to the incident on Korea for a puma wanting to be free and died, I really feel bad for the puma. If you want to watch something very happy and playful, you should definitely check out Cat and Dog! If you want something dark and somber, you should check out Can't You See Me? (The Night The World Burned Down We...)!! and FYI, TXT has its own storyline which is told by the lyrics, and the music videos. Just thought I'd let you know!

PUMA Dance Break Ver. at Golden Disk Awards (GDA) 2021 the practice its on their channel, its insane you need to see it. I can't remember which ones you saw yet, I haven't checked out reactions in bit lol but other ones I like (but not necessarily their Darker Ones) Blue Orangeade Angel or Devil Run Away New Rules Drama Can't You See Me We Lost The Summer Can't We Just Leave the Monster Alive (Dance Practice, there's no MV) Purely for fun watch Fairy of Shampoo (its a cover song but their own spin on it, its amazing and fun) the stage version is my fav, they look like anime Princes hehe. If I think of anymore I 'll edit, but basically I love everything the do lol except for Cat & Dog (MOAs don't eat me pls) if you do watch that one I'd say check out their Blue Hour comeback stage version Cat & Dog/Puma too, transition is crazy to show how much they grew in less than 2 years.

This video was *chef's kiss*! Seeing as you loved PUMA I would definitely recommend checking out their 2021 GDA Dance Practice - there's a dance break and it is MINDBLOWING! As for Cat and Dog it's another one of the brighter concepts (super cute and fun song with questionable lyrics XD) but if you want to check out another darker concept I would suggest Can't You See Me! Another darker concept is Eternally (19 minute MV because its apart of the TXT universe storyline but it's great - doesn't have choreo / dance practice though but the song is actual whiplash -in the best way possible). My personal favourite TXT song is Run Away so if you could react to that as well I would greatly appreciate it - your reactions are top tier!
