Thank you for getting our back! RevZilla will ship and exchange for free with no restocking fees and we have a team of Gear Geeks that ride who are here to answer any questions on Ogio or any backpack we carry. ~Ali
Most shields are surprisingly flexible. The Mach 3 would take a shield, but you would probably have to bend it a bit to fit. The Mach 5 should take a shield in its natural shape. -CK
I have the 5. Very comfortable pack when riding. I enjoyed how it felt riding with the pack. I did not feel resistance you would expect of a pack. I really like this pack.
One thing that is really nice about this backpack is the release connector on the left side that helps you get in and out of the backpack without having to wiggle out or take your jacket off with your backpack. Thank you for the great explanation between the three, it is very hard to find out the differences if you don't see them in person.
The molded portion of the exterior is waterproof, so most water will roll off. However, the seams and undersides of the backpack are not waterproof. In a heavy rain, you will see some soak through. -CK
Technically, these are not designed for crash protection, but I imagine it would help create a buffer between you and the ground in a slide. There are a couple backpacks out there that are designed to take a back protector, such as the Kreiga R25 or the Alpinestars Protection Pack Backpack. ~Ali
The Mach 1 does not have the microfiber covered helmet strap, but you could hook the waist belt through your chinbar to carry your helmet off the bike. ~Ali
i just ordered a Mach 5 on ebay for 130, i think i got a great price on it.... aside from that. this is the best video on youtube explaining everything about all 3 backpacks.
i have the mach 5 and previously had the mach 1, i upgraded because the mach 1 was to small for me and im glad i did it the expandable part makes a biig difference. The hydration part of the pack saved my ass in the summer, the water stayed cold through out the day even under the hot sun. i am very happy with my mach 5 one thing, the stitching for the waist strap is not very strong so DO NOT have it to tight or you will ruin it.
Just got a Mach 5 from the Mrs as an anniversary present. After a week of daily commuting I can say it's a fantastic bag. It does take some getting used to though for those like me coming from a standards style backpack. As in, there are no easy access pockets on the front, and you have to open the entire bag to get something out quick.
For that climate, you could probably get away with the Dainese Super Speed Textile. If you want something to push a bit more into cold weather, try the REV'IT! Ignition 2. -CK
I've got the old one and actually prefer the functionality of it compared to these ones. The deal breaker on the new Ogio's for me is that they don't have the helmet carrier that stores the helmet on top of the bag. I bought the first Ogio No Drag primarily so I ride and take another helmet for a pillion. Doesn't look that way on the new Ogio's but I might be mistaken…
The Chicane has a speed hump in the rear, so it might make it uncomfortable to wear. I'm sure the No Drag could be adjusted to fit, but I would be worried that it would still feel awkward. -CK
This bag looks awesome. My previous bag just ripped and I was in the market for a new one. Thank you RevZilla for making it an easy choice. I picked up the Mach3 and it's perfect.
Got the Mach 3. The mach 5 is 2" bigger all around and I don't need the fu-fu inside. The reason I got this, is because it does not rest on my rear fender and scratch it on my 2020 Harley Fat Bob.
Thanks brother. I JUST got my Mach 3 in today, and you can fit the Shoei RF1100 shield fine if you angle it a little. More than enough room. (for future reference).
just got the mach 3 and love it but it tends to hit the back of my helmet in a tuck/semi tuck position unless i really loosen the straps and let it hang down lower on my back (lower than a regular backpack). just something i noticed and not a deal breaker. looks and feels awesome, very aerodynamic
When riding, it should definitely hang lower than a regular backpack. The straps are adjustable so that you can adjust it between on- and off-the-bike. -DrewZilla
I guess you get what you paid for. It looks really good. I just like how they took all the little things in account, you'd be surprised how much it helps.
I heard Mach 3 have those reflexive pipe, it looks black, but in dark, once light is shed on it, it glows. My only problem I won't chose Mach 3 is for that 2 liter. But, may be, due to the price point, I'll go with Mach 3. Thank You For the review.
Nice review, but it would be helpful to see some video with these actually being worn. That Mach 5 waist pouch is a cool idea, but not knowing if it'll get crushed when hunkered down over the tank is guesswork.
Two questions. Can the visor/shield pocket from the Mach 5 be ordered separately to add to the Mach 3? Also can you guys get a hold of the KTM No Drag Mach 3 to sell?
Just recieved the mach 5, im not that impressed yet. The straps can be adjusted fine, but you cannot make the "left over" strap sit tight, they will flap all over. Also its pretty annoying that the bag cannot stand upright when you place it on the ground. The waist pouch/pocket is also to loose, wish it could be more in one place. quality seems o.k nothing special. Not sure if im keeping this or not. Looking for alternatives.
I should have worded it differently, i knew they only fit 15" so i was adking if anyone knew a different one that could fit a 17" i really really like the boblbee though so fo you think it is possible to custom order one? They have one thatthey say is for office workers blah blah, it called the excutive darth, but its still only 17" anyway is there a way i could modify it myself? Maybe cut it and stitch more cloth on ? Haha
I like I can park my bike at the university and use it for a book bag. I like I can park my bike in the White Mountains and carry it to the over look with my deli sandwich from town. I don't like Saddle bags for those obvious reasons, and Ugly to. Just another one of the pit falls of buying a Harley. Can I go in the supermarket with it and carry the turkey home:)
I've been riding with a Axio fuse hardpack for 10+ years and it's held up pretty well, but I'd like to replace it with something better. It seems like they were the only company, especially back then, that made hardpacks that were aerodynamic, but this is looking pretty nice. Have you ever compared Axio bags to the Ogio or even considered selling them? The Mach 5 looks like a nice upgrade.
+DoruKasama Danci They are water-resistant but not fully waterproof. You may want to consider the waterproof OGIO All Elements Backpack instead. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/ogio-all-elements-backpack
I need a small backpack to carry only my lunch to work and maybe my other visor , can you please tell me which one it's better the Mach 1 or shoei 2.0 or alpinestars charger ?
emilio ventura If you'd like a picture or have any specific questions, let our Gear Geeks know. They're always happy to help. -Hi-Viz Brian * cs@revzilla.com * 1-877-792-9455
Unfortunately these are a bit too small for your average full face helmet to fit inside with. If you are looking for some backpacks that can help store or hold your helmet when not riding, please reach out to our Gear Geeks at 877.792.9455 or cs@revzilla.com and they can walk you through some options! - Pat
Hi, i read few reviews on this bag, on RevZilla's website saying that they can fit their 17inch laptop. Before i commit and buy it, can someone please check if we can fit a 17 inch laptop ? and how if so ?
At 2:00 you talk about the Mach 3 giving you a channel for airflow. If I tighten this pack down there's room for air to flow? Would be nice to not have a sweaty back when I go places in the summer from my worn out Jansport pack! Any experience with how well it flows?
SUBMOTO The backpack shell is still slightly flexible, so with a hard impact, it would likely collapse a bit. We can't predict how you might fall though. -DrewZilla
RevZilla I'm looking for a backpack to take with me when I head out to the canyons and on longer trips. I will only use it for water and maybe a camera; very few things. I'd prefer it be smaller but I want it to have some sort of protection. Most of the armoured ones tend to be larger. I haven't found too many Armour backpacks. Would these be some of your suggestions?
MrPhipper I use Kriega. -Hi-Viz Brian * www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/kriega-r20-backpack * www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/kriega-forcefield-back-protector-insert * www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/kriega-3-liter-hydrapak-tube
Dear RevZilla, I'm thinking about getting one of these bags to use to carry my laptop and books to class and back. Do you think that these could hold 4 college text books + a laptop?
Sup RevZilla - tempted to get this bag to replace my venerable Kriega R20 but wanted to know if it can match THAT for the on-bike comfort? I'm going to use it as a commuter pack on my R1 and I typically wear my Tech1R race jacket, so i need to know if it works well with my race hump and if it distributes the load nicely - I like how Kriega places the weight on your chests. Peace out!
EarlOfEasycore The Ogio packs are very nice, but I still personally prefer the ergonomics of the Kriegas. I think the weight management improves with the larger R25, R30, and R35, which makes sense since they have to carry larger loads. With the R20, it's pretty even with OGIO packs. If you like organization, the OGIOs have more dividers. If you want the simplicity of a single compartment, go for Kriega. -DrewZilla
+Jonathan Sarkis We'll try to do a video in the future, but for now, here are the key differences: -20L GT: 20 Liter capacity, Generation 3 harness, CE Level 1 back protector -20L GTO: 20 Liter capacity, Generation 4 harness, CE Level 2 back protector, includes outer accessory pouch -25L GT: 25 Liter capacity, Generation 3 harness, CE Level 2 back protector -25L GTO: 25 Liter capacity, Generation 4 harness, CE Level 2 back protector Hope this helps! -DrewZilla
Revzilla, I live in the uk and commute daily I also go on long journeys through Europe, I'm looking for a new rucksack but can't decide which is best between- kriega r25, ogio no drag Mach 5 and the alpinestars tech aero. In your opinion which is the best out of the 3?
hello Revzilla. I have a Dainese D1 Racing leather jacket with the Manis D1 G Back Protector Insert and I`m concerned how the Mach 3 would fit / feel on a jacket with a protector insert. I really like the bag, but don`t want to remove the back protector every time I want to use it. thanks in advance
Daniel Sebbag Most backpacks are a little difficult for jackets with humps. To make it most comfortable, you can wear the pack a little lower on your back. This also helps for riding in a tuck. -DrewZilla
