You’ve done an excellent educational video Amber. This looks like a great unit. I will be checking to see if they sell these in Canada. PS Your design suggestions are invaluable to OGO.
Hey, I was gonna say the same solution. haha Either a small compact mirror or a full side wall mirror just in case Amber likes to watch herself. haha j/k Amber.
Thank you for this info. We will either get this or an incinerating toilet. I've never seen how it works. As to the light, maybe install a little mirror on thE wall. I think a little adhesive tile should do it.
We lived on a fixer upper houseboat for several years, and I know it’s a pain to pull things apart, dreading to know what’s underneath. So I feel ya. Glad you had good help. An incinerater toilet is very expensive. But so worth it.
Maybe a Squatty Potty Porta Traveler Foldable Toilet Stool would raise your leg(s) up just enough so it won’t push the diverter lever in. Kathy A++ and Amber A++ as you two work together to achieve a common goal and produce the video.
I'm Sorry but who is Kathy/Diana/WonderWomen? I knew she was a badass from a few other videos but damn girl. And it's not that a women can do all that but rather cause she's all in!
I’m so impressed with your friend’s competency in getting your toilet in. She rocks! So happy you have her as a friend. I’m sure you learned a lot from her. Your toilet room looks wonderful. Enjoy!
can you comment on the smell? does it smell? especially if you have the maxxfan on for ventilation for example, would the smell sucked out from toilet because of the stronger pulling pressure by the maxxfan?
Having had a composting toilet on two different rigs and really liked it, I do have a question on your vent location. Do you get any odor outside in the general vicinity of the vent? I ask because on our previous rig a truck camper, I vented out the back and ended up moving the vent hose by tapping into the black tank pipe so no smell at ground level only when I worked on the roof?
Wow, got to be saving pennies for that baby. $1,200,00. Give or take. Depending if you buy their extras. Which should come with it for the $1,189.00 I'm not exactly on the price, to shocked to remember but got close ball park figure. Guess I'll be painting the old wood frame red, buying new 3 gallon jugs and call it good. For now. Glad you could get a good quality one. It is on my wish list for sure.
I was wondering if that lever would hit your leg. I know it would mine. Try putting a mirror on the wall across from the light. Also maybe a magnet on the lid and wall for maintenance work. Thanks for giving us an honest review. Can I just say your friend is super impressive. That lady knows her way around tools. What a blessing to have such an amazing community of women.
A small stick on mirror, the type placed on the side door mirror of a vehicle. Place on the wall across from the light button on your toilet will make the urine diverter light easily visible.
Great thorough and detailed video, Amber! Kathy is the friend we all need, worth her weight in gold! 😂 Hope you’re having a great time at your sister’s 😊
It looks good..... I'd like to see our world stop wasting water water with Flushing Toilets..... By using Incinerator or Composting Toilet's in All Home's - Apartments & Ships.... Thanks for the Video.
I wonder since I have irritable bowel issues is a composting toilet a no go for people like me? If your stools often are liquidy would it just get too swampy and not compost correctly?
Perhaps you could put a little mirror on the wall where the red light is going to show. That might help you be able to be able to look at a glance more easily.
Looks like a very good option. Is there a way to keep bugs from coming into the tubing? How large is the urine bottle? Does smell come up thru the thin cut for the urine diverter? Since it’s not a hole, you can’t plug it. Can the fan be “ on” intermittently so it’s not a constant draw on electricity? Thanks.
My husband and I live in the forest with no plumbing piped in from town. We installed a biolan composting toilet in our house. No electricity needed and there is a vent tube. I prefer it as opposed to creating sewage daily. I do not think it would fit in a van though.
Hey Amber I have a question about that toilet, well 2 actually, thinking of getting one for our Winnebago Era , 1 can you share the cost of it I didn’t hear what it was and 2 if you are sick aka diarrhea and it goes all over 🥲 is it different to clean, Thanks and as always love you girl you are great hopefully one day my wife and I will cross paths with you
That slide actuator in the way of the leg is a bad design. Also, I think cleaning that bucket would be a very undesirable task! It’s not too far from a cat litter situation…. :)
I was just thinking if you put a small compact mirror on the wall opposite the light, you could stick the mirror to the wall with 2 way tape then all you would have to do is look down to see the light. That should work great .
Nice install. But you really need to buy some crimpers for your electrical connections. You shouldn't demonstrate incorrect method of using vice grips to crimp connectors. The correct crimpers are inexpensive and make a nice crimp as designed.
That Is SO easy!! I would also be concerned about the longevity of that poo-shoot lever. No matter what height/size someone is, it would seem a person’s right leg would put pressure on it and, perhaps, damage it. I don’t really see how they’d place it elsewhere, though.
So glad you were able to make this change! It fits perfectly in the space. Thank you for clarifying the #1 and #2 at the same time question. I've definitely wondered this! 😄
👍🌟🤩💝 WOW 🌟 KATHY IS A BOSS!! 🌟 She is a blessing! I’m a handy person but I would be so grateful to have a friend like Kathy to help with projects. I want to suggest that the Ogo composting toilet is also a great idea for boats too. Thank you so much for sharing your journey. Wishing you safe travels. 🙏💝
Hey sweetheart I can tell you what you can do about the button to know if it's red put you a mirror there at the wall a little one like you use to see about a baby in the back of the car seats when you're looking back get you one of them you can always tell if it's red or not so that's how you fix that problem I hope it works for you God bless you take care see you in your next video
Thanks for this episode. I’m considering swapping out my rv toilet for this Ogo or the C-head. I’m still leaning towards c-head. But this is a close second. It’s amazing how expensive they can be. Nice to see variety in the market. Update- the c-head seems to be out of business. It looks like they closed and left people without filling their orders. How disappointing.
Composting toilets are absolutely disgusting!!! Literally human crap sitting inside your home. The the maintenance is freaking gross and disgusting. Remember plumbing people??!!!
Guess you’ve never lived in an RV where it’s even more gross to dump your poop and urine that is now toxic and smelly because it’s combined. Maybe you should watch other videos where I talk about the gross leak I had. This doesn’t smell at all. Safe to handle and easy to dispose. Environmentally friendly and no chemicals. Seems like you might have had a bad experience with a composting toilet that wasn’t set up properly or have you even used one to really know?
Installed an Ogo in our caravan in Australia a year ago. It is a game changer, easy to use, easy to empty when the time comes, and NO smell. The cassette toilet we had was always a pressure in caravaning. When you get used to the Ogo you just forget about all the toilet pressures and enjoy the journey. Buy one, it will change your experience.
Very useful to see the details that don't make it into the promotional material from the company. Just curious: Since the solid waste container is open within the toilet cabinet, have you ever had solid waste get out into the the toilet cabinet or "splash" on to the liquid waste container? Even careful drivers can't avoid all bumps & potholes, and I was wondering whether the waste stays where it belongs.
