your post is a little old however you mentioned some things I hadn’t thought of! I just am picking up my van in two weeks and I’ll be headed out. Thanks for putting this together.
I had a wheel lock in the 90’s. The thief was so kind to put the busted club on the floor. Fortunately I got my car back ($5000.00 damage)and put an alarm in it.
This is one nice RV. Plenty of room. Very safe looking. I’ve never understood not liking black tanks. My Winnebago View was very easy to dump. Set the valve so the grey tank flowed into the black and then dump it, 😢hen dump the Grey. Run the water into the black tank for a couple of gallons and let that go. Easy.
It is hard for me to comprehend why so many people are so ready to throw out all their “secret” parking spots to the whole world?? How long do you expect them to stay secret? Law enforcement must love this! Everybody letting them know what to look for and where. Alerts home owners and businesses as well. It no doubt will result in more and more no parking postings. Just keep on bragging and soon, you will run out of secret spots. You tube is full of people posting this stuff.
@@storychasing "What part of the world do you live in?" Libby, MT. Currently, my apartment cost me $600, but I'm afraid of having my rent increased to a level that I can't afford, so I'm on the hunt for a cheaper apt. I should also tell you my current apt can be best described as "slum lord" level, but I don't mind that at all, at least I can afford that. The "studio apt" I found at the price of just under $400 are located in South and North Dakota. One is located in Souix Falls, SD, and Dickinson, ND. While studio apts. are small, so are my needs. I'm an 80 year old veteran (Navy 1965 - 1967) on a small veteran's pension, under $1500/month, so a hike in my rent would be hard to live with. Thanks for asking. Where do you live?
What loss she'd experienced, not just her loving owner but her sister or brother pup. I can't imagine even one day in a shelter after a dog has lived in a loving home. I also can't imagine the sadness of the dying woman loving her pups enough to take them to the shelter. I just can't believe no one in her family would take in her dogs. Simply awful.
Beautiful rig Wendy you're totally set for off-grid backcountry camping my only concern that I would have is yes a dually is great I agree 4 x 4 however when you are fully loaded getting ready to go off grid with water propane etc etc I believe you will be overweight with only having a one ton dually I hope you don't break the truck in half in country I would suggest fully loading the truck up and getting it weighed at a CAT scale
Nice to play with, but completely useless to most people! The most important and simple feature is missing! You can't upload your route to Google Maps to use in your car for navigation. Like you could about 20 years ago in your TomTom device!
Don’t put solar on your roof as you risk leaks. You can purchase portable solar panels that sit outside your rig gathering energy. Then you just fold them away when travelling. Add a jackery portable power station, you can charge it up with a portable solar panel. Love your home on wheels❤
That entire wall was covered with names. In what looked like relatively small print. Goodness. I saw several names in that list with dollar amounts of $0. What's up with that? One has to appreciate the irony of a family that at one time owned 800 slaves asking you to "respect their wishes" about filming inside. It makes me appreciate and be thankful we enjoy the relative privilege of living at a time and place where we assume and take for granted we can ask others to respect our wishes.
Night vision monocular goggles can be purchased for around $100, and will allow you to see fairly clearly on those darkest moonless nights. Certainly well enough to see if there's anybody lurking around your vehicle. I would think another good option for stealth parking would be a small airport. At my local airport and the two nearest to me, parking is either free or very cheap ($12 for 24 hours), and nobody is likely to bother you if you park there late at night, since you might just be planning to take the earliest flight out.
