While obviously it’s still a Pokémon game, I really appreciate how much they turned the difficulty up for the Ogre clan member battles and some of the story and random trainer battles. They’re not hard per say but they were MILES more interesting than the ones from Paldea main game.

yea my raid annilape just one shots them all lol, but they are a nice change in pace of difficulty since on my violet i used my shiny yanmega and politoad, which struggled against them alittle

I used a team I was training myself while playing through the dlc so when I first encountered the fairy clan member I was sorely unprepared and got bodied a few times. But it was fun to face a trainer that wasn’t a pushover using first stage pokémon.

Yeah I appreciate these guys, seriously they ain't easy pushovers, they don't want to destroy the world, just pretty good battlers who provide a challenge you might not expect ....

@@ThePlayaJohn Several trainers, depending on apparently when you fought them in the story, can automatically reset to unbattled state, and a few of them are the ogre clan trainers. In my case, the one near the festival grounds in the cliffs keeps resetting the second I leave the area, making it impossible to turn in the quest. I have fought that one 5 times trying different things like saving my game, saving and turning off my game, standing besides it for a long time, flying to different areas, yet nothing works. I'm not alone with this either, it's bugged for a bunch of people if you google for this.

Idk about this guy but I beat one of the clan before talking to the first guy to initiate the quest and didn't get the reward for it due to that.

In the data mine, there seems to be only 300 flags to save if a trainer has been defeated or not. So if someone has completely defeated all trainers in the base game and then come over to Kitakami to defeat the rest, it can cause this bug because there are more than 300 fights right now. Hope they fix this before the next DLC drop.

To anyone noting that the quest is bugged, I'm there with you! But take advantage of it to keep beating them over and over for easy cash. I've been using the gift Zoroark-H with Happy Hour and amulet coin in each battle to just farm cash.

@@yoyoma1257 It is a bug that occurs if you have beaten at least 300 trainer fights in the game. The game can't track any win after that - so once this bug takes effect you won't be able to get any of the item rewards from the dude for the battles (as long as the first fight took place after number 300). For me even some normal trainers get reset. I guess I battled almost all trainers in the main game.

If you’ve battled them but it doesn’t seem to register, there’s a reason why. SV erroneously only keeps track of 300 trainer victories, so if you cleared out the original Paldea map of all the trainer encounters, you will not be able to clear this quest til it gets patched.

I'd probably do this when the new 7 star raid drops since I'd rather farm the supports dens for screens & Tera shards, but thanks for showing me there is actual incentive to clearing it & looking forward to the Billy O'Nare side quest.

Stuff like this makes me think they want you to do this DLC early for the items. The level scaling would keep this easy(unless these guys arent scaled) and these rewards feel like stuff youd want during your playthrough.

When I beat the trainer on top of the mountain short horn and talk to the guy he still says theres only 1 left despite me beating him and when i go back it's like they were never defeated. i can't finish this side quest and it happens for some other trainers as well and it pisses me off

Play "SET STYLE".. click no when they ask to switch and then switch after if that's what you want to do. Also no items.. that's if you want to challenge yourself further. They almost took out my ev trained lvl 100 pokemon

I do this now too. It's more fun and challenging. I started Teal Mask with a team of 6 shinies all in the level 50s. Getting to the end of the DLC now, and the team is up to high 70s. Playing as if I'm in set mode and only healing after battle has been refreshing, especially with these trainers.

you could recreate the teams he shows you, or you could just do what I did and beat them all with only two competitively ready pokemon, which none of died (I only needed to use the same two pokemon that I used to also cheese the story, a Maushold that took me two tries after I ev trained my first one and gave it an ability patch AND then candied it to level 100 and a Dragapult). Yes, I play competitive pokemon (I dont have an online subscription, so I only play on showdown)

Hey, thank you so much about this video but I have a problem with that, I already battled some of them before I watch your video and I still have 2 more to battle, the 4th and the 5th one. When I complete both of them I going to get the reward and battle the last one and he saying that I still have 2 more to battle and it's the 2 that I said before. And when I turn back to see if I battle them, they telling me that I didn't battle them and I have to battle them again and again. I already battle them 5 times now and I didn't do anything. If you have any solution for this please help me 🙏

You actually do not need to talk to the one guy to initiate the ogre clan quest because I just literally found out about him through this video and already defeated some of the orge clan members long before the finishing the Teal Mask story. They are also the proof that the Teal Mask and Indigo Disc are one dlc and not two separate ones, they are like the 8 Gym Leaders within the Teal Mask and you have the BB League Elite Four and BB League champion in the Indigo Disc.

Can't complete this quest because once you've beat 300 different trainers, the game stops being able to record additional trainers that you've defeated, including the ogre clan members. I've got 3 left. Hopefully GF patches this Update: looks like 2.0.2 (set to be released in October) will fix this issue 🎉

@@yoyoma1257 you can battle the trainer over and over and collect the prize money, but the the guy by the festival won't hand out the rewards for beating the trainers and continues to say that I have 3 clan members to defeat. Looks like the bug will be fixed in 2.0.2 as per the patch notes

The mask seller at the fair. He's there after the first night if you go back later. You can buy lots of different ones. Wish there was a way to wear on side of your head though.

Mine says there's 2 remaining, and I've beaten them both. The battles reset to 'unbattled' state after leaving the area. It's bugged for sure.

:( sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue, its a glitch with the internal stored data of the game this should be fixed with the next patch update in October that they announced last week.

Using Pokemon Home you can move it in from Legends. Mine is shiny as well because of this.

Ability Patches can't be bought. It's only obtainable in 6* or 7* tera raids.

I don't even care about the items. Im just happy there are trainers worth a damn that im not just picking one move and sweeping them. The fact they're tougher than the school E4 tournament is a damn shame.
