This group has an interesting backstory: While incarcerated at Trenton State Prison in 1968, founding member Regionald Prophet Haynes began practicing doo-wop singing with fellow prisoners. In 1970, members of the group were transferred to Rahway State Prison, they first performed as the "Escorts" at the state prison talent show, where they caught the attention of Motown producer George Kerr. In 1973, Kerr returned with a mobile recording unit, resulting in the Escorts debut album called "All We Need Is Another Chance". (The Escorts have been sampled by hip hop arts such as J. Dilla and Public Enemy. However, I'd like to suggest another group that I believe you've reacted to before and seemed to enjoy their tunes. So, in case you're interested. "Stylistics - You Make Me Feel Brand New (Official Lyric Video)" [I couldn't find a decent live performance with good audio quality, sorry.] This was such a great reaction thanks for sharing.
These dudes recorded their album while incarcerated at Rahway Prison in New Jersey. I think it was actually someone from Motown who went to the prison and recorded them.
And since we're gonna Mike, it's gonna mike. It's going to Mike it on your playlist. Captain? You gotta apply list if one? Playlist right? Do I love strike?
But that's the phone boys the band is and the band die that mind. Yeah, I wish ILLWIYS always wonderful. For a thai bay they wonderful labor day all day
This was a Soul/R&B band who were formed in prison in 1970, they were also known as 'The Legendary Escorts'. The tracks which I recommend by them are: "I'll Be Sweeter Tomorrow", "Don't Turn Around", "I'll Find a Way", "Ooh, Baby, Baby", "I Love You But You Don't Know Me", "Let's Make Love (At Home Sometime)", "I Can't Stand (To See You Cry)", "All We Need is Another Chance", "Little Green Apples", "Make Me Over", "I'm So Glad I Found You", "Brother", "Treat Her Right", "Somebody Loves You", "Heart of Gold". There are other tracks but these are good ones to continue with.
I remember hearing this song on krla huggie boy radio show and dedication line. I remember my boyfriend dedicated this song to me. He stole my heart and we've been married for 42 years now. Keep up the great reactions and bringing memories back to me.
The Escorts are a great group, all incarcerated when they recorded this. "I'll Be Sweeter Tomorrow" is a great cover of an OJ's song. You guys need to listen to The Moments. "Love on A Two Way Street", "Not On the Outside", "Look At Me (I'm In Love)", and "Sexy Mama" are all classic R&B. Love you guys! Just subscribed today after a few videos. Keep it up!
The Friends of Distinction - Going In Circles Malo - Suavicito Santana - Hope You’re Feeling Better The Delfonics - Ready or Not Here I Come James Carr - Dark End Of The Street
The main ingredient I'm so proud, The moments look at me, The five stair steps ooh child. Don't forget Luther Vandross Anyone who had a heart, all are super bangers!!!😎
I was searching songs by The Escorts to listen to and came across one of my favorite songs by the Delfonics, The Love I Gave (To You). William Heart's vocals never sounded better. Chef's kiss. Let's Make Love at Your Place (And Mine should be the next sing by The Escorts.
Wow! I'd completely forgotten The Escorts' version of this song. I still listen to the original O'Jays rendition. The Escorts definitely will be added to my playlist. Thanks
Since you mentioned Barry White, how about reacting to some of his other songs like I'm Gonna Love You Just A Little More Baby, Never, Never Gonna Give Ya Up, You're The First, The Last, My Everything. Also, his cover of Billy Joel's Just The Way You Are is nice. And he did a duet with Tina Turner called Wildest Dreams.
You guys shocked me with this one . Please check out Let's Make Love At Home Sometimes (1974) I Can't Stand To See You Cry (1973) by these talented brothas Thanks as always Jay and Amber 😊
I don't know. But I'm listening to this song and it reminds me of Billy Stewart singing I Do Love You. You guys should definitely listen to this one!!!
Thank You. You finally reacted to this song. Was not a hit song, but so good. Just a great song from the 70's. 2 more songs to complete this is The Temprees " Love Can Be So Wonderful" and The Notations " I'm Still Here." All 3 of these songs are from the early 70's.
Jordan and Amber that was so good. The first time hearing it and I want to introduce you to a new group The Intruders the song is called Cowboys To Girls from 1967.
You guys really need to do some Lake Street Dive reactions. Start with "Rachel Price - What I'm Doing Here". She's the singer of Lake Street Dive. Then later... to really freak you out, do "Rachel and Vilray - Do Friends Fall In Love". Thank me later. lol
You two are the best. Love your matching energy. So, refreshing with immense knowledge. Unlike others, when you break away, you have something substantial to add. I'm stuck on the E's today. In my top 5: Eagles, ELO, Eurythmics - the 3-eees/theese/threees.....
Yep, these were felons from Rahway State Prison in New Jersey, who released a couple albums while incarcerated. Ironically, their popularity declined once they were done with their sentences and never regained their momentum
PLEASE REACT TO THE SONG BLACK and WHITE from 1972 BY THE BAND THREE DOG NIGHT. You're gonna love the lyrics...not to mention the cowbell. IT WAS PART OF OUR HIPPIE MOVEMENT OF THE LATE 60's EARLY 70's TO TRY AND UNIFY MANKIND. TEACH EVERYONE THAT WE'RE ALL THE SAME , TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER IN PEACE. OUR CHILDREN WERE TO BE OUR NEXT TEACHERS TO CARRY THIS LESSON FORWARD.
Love your reactions and if you haven't checked out Lisa Marie Presley Lights Out offical viedo you need too since it's just over a year of her passing. GOD BLESS EVERYONE🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇❤️❤️❤️
Jay and Amber I got two 90s bangers you guys need to react to and the group is called PM Dawn. Check out these two bangers Set Adriff on Memory Bliss and I'd Die Without You. Please checkout this group.
Great voices and talent. I prefer the Ojays version of this and Ill be Sweeter Tomorrow. Look over your shoulder (Ojay Style) was.done frequently in our High School.talent shows. One group used to.actually flip a.member over.their shoulders😅
Guys, I’m new and you really got me with this pure reactions: Please react to Family Portrait by Pink You might like the sound of that specific song. A suggestion for Female Friday! A big Thank you in advance.
A very dear friend sent me the song Tell Your Heart to Beat Again by Danny Gokey when I got out of an abusive relationship. Please consider reacting to this song for my friend, Tracy.
