The Doctor split in half, and so did the fandom. I for one fucking love it.

No one had ever heard about regeneration, until it happened... So why not bigeneration. As a long-term fan of the show ('74), I really enjoyed this episode. :) Cannot wait for more of Ncuti! :D

I really doubt there will be a Doctor and Donna spinoff, but I’m SURE we’ll have a UNIT spinoff. They worked on that set, on putting Kate, Shirley, Mel and that alien in place on that well-designed set.

you pointed out the difference between 13 meeting tegan/ace in POTD and 14 and Mel here - the doctor practically abandoned both tegan & ace, hence the awkward & frosty reintroduction, but mel chose to leave the tardis on a happy note

McCoy, Tennant, Capaldi, Gatwa....Scottish Doctors are always the best. Although I still can't believe that we now have a Doctor who used to be a gogo dancer at the Polo Lounge. :D. Regardless, absolutely fantastic.

The difference in the old companion reaction is the fact that Tennant is a fan, you put anyone of classic Who and he will be a proper fangirl.

NPH was an inspired choice for The Celestial Toymaker.

NPH _almost_ stole the show! They gave him such great closeups and he used his face brilliantly.

1. I am legit upset David didn't draw a 10 that would have been perfect ^_^ 2. Mel travelled with the 6th and 7th Doctor - she was renowned for her scream LOL 3. As far as i'm concerned this is now the new Spice Girls video for spice up your life 4. Ncuti got the collared shirt, tie, and undies, so David is very clearly commando in those trousers

one thing i wish they did in this episode is mention rory and yaz because i think everyone forgets how big of an impact they both had on the doctor.

I’ve been watching and loving Doctor Who since my local American public tv station started airing Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee serials when I was a kid in the early 80s. “The Giggle” has immediately earned a slot in my list of top all-time DW stories.

I absolutely loved all of the 60th specials and the bigeneration is just an excellent way for Ncuti to have a fresher slate as the doctor after them going through so much recently. Giving 14 the time to deal with everything thats happened to them is a stroke of genius for a character that never can stop moving. Can't wait for Christmas, doctor who is well and truly back

SO now that the episode has come out, I can say it! I WAS IN THIS EPISODE! That first scene in modern day where there's fires and chaos and people running, I'm an extra running around! :) honestly the peak of my existence, and when we got there for set that day I didn't know DAVID TENNANT CATHERINE TATE AND NEIL PATRICK HARRIS WOULD WALK ON! This felt like a good ending to the New Who era. From “Rose” to “The Giggle” it’s been a show about handling trauma. It’s going to be interesting to see where Russel T Davies takes the show next. I heard mythologies might be explored as well as the effect of bigeneration, which would make sort of sense if this new era is going to be called “Who-niverse”. I loved how final Tennant’s story felt while still reinventing a new energy of enthusiasm through the birth of Ncuti’s Fifteenth Doctor. Hopefully it doesn’t collapse. I’m sure it won’t, since Russel already has three to four seasons planned.

Anyone feel like Tennant's acting has improved? Used to be when he was looking tragic he just had this weird constipated snarl, now 7:20 when he makes that sad scared face I just tear up in absolute sympathy.

I absolutely love how 15th spends all the time in this episode in his underwear, and not one. Not audience nor any of the characters seem to take much notice of it. That is great screen presence. =D The only thing off about this episode that I can think of, is how short it is for such a monumental threat. But that might mean that The Toy Maker might return. Which with this preformance, I am actually hoping for. =)

I think a 14 and Donna spin-off is unlikely. They don't want to risk undercutting Ncuti's new Doctor. However, bi-generation has two big bonuses. One is that Tennant can be a go to featured guest star in any future spin-offs. The hard thing about getting the current Doctor to cross over into other shows is how busy he or she is doing the main show. Having 14 as an option loosens things up. The second is based on RTD's talk about how there are older versions of each Doctor where they didn't regenerate when they did in the show in splinter timelines making a Doctor-verse. This essentially makes it much easier to bring older Doctor's back without having to jump through massive hopes when you want them to appear. Onwards to Christmas and Ncuti's first season next year. I am also looking forward to whatever spin-offs RTD brings, though who knows when we will get announcements.

They have confirmed there wont be a tennant tate spin off although im sure that unit spin off is so totally gonna happen that set was too nice for it to be in a single episode then dismantled

3:18 That's the Disney money/production coming into play... 😉 (Doctor Who, as a show, is having essentially a major production "face lift", as it were -- I imagine Gatwa's special and first season (as well as his second season, which is already well into shooting/production) will look notably good compared to prior decades; no insult to the prior eras, of course, but they were working with more limited production funds than they'll have now.)

Tegan and Ace's departures from the Doctor were not amicable. They were angry. Their meeting the Doctor again should have been apprehensive.

I loved how overjoyed the Doctor was to see Mel, it was such a cute reunion. As for the awkward reunion the Doctor had with ace and Tegan, I think it’s because the Doctor left them both on bad terms. Tegan said she was tired of seeing people die and Ace had an off screen fallout with the doctor.

I’m still not sold on Ncuti, the acting goes back to peak RTD era for all these specials where actors can you know, actually act but then as soon as a Ncuti appears his acting is a bit cringe for me, he’s very animated and very much feels like he’s an actor saying words from a script. I think just like Jodie, amazing actor but wrong character. Xmas special clips haven’t really convinced me either

the moment he hired Gatwa, and then pretending Davros needed to be changed because of the history of the disabled being depicted as evil which is a lie. I knew Davies was more interested in getting back at fans who hated Chibnall's era, more than actually making a good story. Most people check out doing the First Female Doctor Jodie Whittaker rating don’t lie. I think they are trying to replace its old fan base what left of them with a new fan base Woke Culture, Gender ideology crazy people with pronouns go woke go broke. The fact is that doctor who is government sponsor TV show paid for by the BBC TV license fee. So, it will go on even if nobody is really watching it.
