Keanu Reeves sat down with BBC Radio 1's film critic Ali Plumb to look back on his time as Neo ahead of new movie The Matrix Resurrections and geek out on his most iconic Matrix moments.
Keanu talks about everything from his favourite kung fu moves over the years and why he believes the films are so memorable, to quoting his favourite lines from Trinity and Agent Smith.
Plus, Ali and Keanu work out that it turns out, the Lego Movie is essentially just The Matrix but made of Lego. Who knew?
The Matrix Resurrections is released Wednesday 22nd December in cinemas.

In contrast, I remember sitting in a cinema some time ago and seeing a brief promotion about upcoming movies. There was this one new actress called Jennifer Lawrence talking about a 'Hunger Games' film and she looked like she was ready to break down if she had to talk for one more second about it.

Fun fact: Will Smith was the actor they wanted play Neo and he turned down the role to shoot the movie Wild Wild West and they cast Keanu instead. Will Smith said it was the biggest regret of his career.

I had a similar experience In Return of rhe King, not Matrix related though, when Frodo was about to throw the ring in Mount Doom but was hesitating. Someone shouted out "Throw the goddamn ring in already!" and people burst out laughing, i guess everyone was on edge the whole time during that scene.

Agreed. He's a perfect example of a grown mature man, who is in touch with his inner child. He lets this inner child shine through and together they walk hand in hand through life spreading happiness. (It's impossible to watch the guy and not smile). He's happy and free. And deserves every bit of it. One of the best humans on earth.

Keanu is a rare soul, an old one at that. His determination is legendary. To have a herniated disk compress your spinal cord and start paralyzing your legs is a HUGE deal. Yet, he got his spine fused and insisted on training, knowing how much of a risk he is taking. At the same time, Hugo injured his hips and had to go to surgery for that. It just shows you, how much effort these actors put into the movies. True legends right there and it shows.

I was surprised he didn't mention the single most powerful line for me : "you've never used them before" That was where my mind suddenly lost the floor and zoomed way way out and the concept Altered Carbon would later refer to as a "sleeve" became a worldview for me.

He’s actually a super intellectual. When he was in sydney he used to buy a vast array of literature from a local bookstore - my good friend used to get his requests in and sell him those books. His interests are vast and he’s very humble cos he’s a deep thinker.

The Stunt Man on Trinity's "Dodge This" busted his head on that scene. Gave himself a proud bloody knot. He was fine tho. Carrie also pop'd an ankle on her Foyer wall flip stunt. Kudos to those Actors and Actresses. They bust bones and give it all they got for us.

Listening to them geek out about Matrix scenes is so damn awesome. Trinity with the dual Series 81s was iconic. If there's one thing that sets The Matrix apart from most action movies of the time it's the gun-porn and the martial arts. Sure, a lot of both is not realistic in the slightest, but it was consistent within its own established universe. Everything from the John Woo style MP5Ks in the lobby, to the black Desert Eagles in slow-motion as Agents close in.
