It's been a little over six years since Paul last saw Zenith. Remember that Rudy was in Roa as Eris's tutor for about three years, then on the day after his 10th birthday, the teleportation disaster happened. Rudy is sixteen now. So it's been a little less than a decade since Rudy last saw Zenith, but somewhat over six years since Paul did. It's a bit of trivia now, but the reason Paul could cut off the hydra's heads and Elinalise couldn't is because Paul had a special sword that gets sharper the harder the stuff it needs to cut is. Any other sword would have never gone through its scales. Poor Lillia. Poor Norn.
they set this whole thing up with starting Turning Point 3... ON MOTHER'S DAY and then pausing a week so this all 'payed off' TODAY. They knew what they were doing 😭

3:30 I think it has been about seven years since the mana disaster. But 10 years since Rudeus was sent to live with Eris' family. So that was the last time he saw Zenith. That was way back in Season 1 episode 4.
The internet coined the phrase "getting hit in the feels". Even when you KNOW what's coming, things like this still feels more like getting nuked by feels, forget being hit by them.
Rudy has to be going in a major mental depression like the last 2 times. His dad died to save him, his mother probably has some major mental issues from her experience. He maybe worried about Norm, she probably going to be angry at him and blame him for his dad death. I think he will need the help from someone to get him out of this hole.
They timed this episode perfectly..... The person that timed the episode release is a Mankind level threat, he puts the Joker to shame. That Silence while looking at Paul's dead body was too loud, it was deafening 😔
@@d7603 I read somewhere the reason was some Golf Tournament getting their timeslot, if that's correct, they didn't plan it that way. Otherwise I wouldn't be surprised if they delayed it for this purpose
@@d7603 Also the same episode had the call for aid for Zenith, Rudy's mother. On the other hand, I heard somewhere about some Golf Tournament that took Mushoku Tensei's time slot, so not sure if it was a "happy coincidence" or not...
It's been six year since mana disaster, and 10 years since rudy leave home to teach eris. Also remember that rudy named their arms hulk and hercules? And he used hercules tale as example, well guess wich arm he lost. Rip Paul Greyrat a true Hero
People need to know something. Rudy couldn't keep up, not mentally, but physically. He doesn't have Battle Aura. The ability to manipulate mana throughout the body. (this hasn't been explained in the anime) Its invisible to the eye, but enhances your strength and reflexes. Fighting without it is like playing a game with input lag. His demon eye closes that gap slightly, but he isn't physically capable of dodging the Hydra's attacks. In return though he has an abundant pool of mana. This was by no means Rudy's fault. Even if you can see an attack coming, it doesn't matter if you can't dodge it. The hydra went off script at around 10% HP. It's headless limbs began attacking everyone including Rudy. Which left Elise preoccupied, and Talhand left to defend Roxy. They had to block it because the scales were as sharp as blades. This left the main last head free to attack Rudy. (Remember, he needed to be point blank to hit it with magic.) If you are incapable of doing something, is that your fault? If you, a normal human were in that scenario, (keep in mind rudy only has the muscles he's built and normal reflexes) would you be able to get out of the way? People now are mistakenly referring to Rudy as a glass cannon. This is not true. By definition, a glass cannon is all firepower with little to no defense. Rudy has impeccable defensive earth magic and control magic with quagmire (giggidy). Rudy would most likely win in a 1v1 in a lot of battles. This was different. He was placed in a situation where he was forced to be defenseless and rely on allies to cover him. The hydra was just too fast. Everyone was caught off guard by its intelligence. Did you expect it to rip off its own neck to regrow heads, or to use its dead limbs as sharp blunt weapons? Probably not, but still the situation was simply unlucky. Rudy was in his worst element. Close range. A knife is still more effective against an undrawn firearm within 5 feet.

Unless the Man-God just wants Roxxie dead for some reason... Rudy doesn't go: - Roxxie is dead, they don't save Zenith at all and most likely all die during the attempts, Norn would hate Rudy forever. But Norn will blame Rudy for Paul's death this way, so the last one doesn't really change just the reason for it...
@@sqxbarto9229 little spoilers Roxy does not die even if rudy did not go because someone will save her in place of rudy and zenith will still be saved by paul’s party, although it takes one year but everyone will still be alive. The only regret of him following mangod’s advice will be because roxy would fall in love to that man who saved her and not him.

@@sqxbarto9229 I not sure anymore because it has been long since i read the ln but as far as I remember, I don’t think that it was stated that the man with roxy was abusive. hitogami’s objective was for rudy and roxy to not have kids so I don’t think that hitogami would still kill roxy assuming that he had separated the two of them.

You know when Hydra attack with fire and Rudeus use a water shield, while Hydra attack Rudeus Paul could sneak attack from behind Rudeus and circling around the Hydra and cut the remaining 3 head while it attack. if he do that he might still alive.

@@sebastianpendragon smoke screen is not a bad idea but who has more chances of getting a hit in. A giant hydra with 9 head stumps or a paul that's blinded by the smoke screen himself? Anyways its too risky. The best plan was to wait and get another saint level fighter that would have helped cut the heads with paul, unfortunately they didn't wait.
You're in front of a mythical beast that you barely know anything about. All you know that it is charging for a deadly attack, why would Paul risk circling around and possibly get enveloped by the flames? The Hydra has 3 heads, he cannot sneak around it. Did you not see how wide the shield Rudy had to cast? That is an AOE attack There could've been other ways, but you can't possibly expect the ideal thing to always happen irl. Otherwise, no one will die in any story cus everyone is perfect and that's a boring story.
Paul Greyrat wore both the Cloak of Life and the Cloak of Death. But it was not enough to earn him the Cloak of Longevity. 🪦 And Zenith...she has been out of depth ever since the Teleportation Incident. If it was up to me, I'd rather put Zenith out of her misery.
Imagine if she is not Zenith just someone look like her, since she is someone look like some girl that Eris save from assassin from OVA. Or if she is someone responsible to teleportation incident and look like Zenith.
The thing about rock dieing if rudeus didn't go, just considder this, Roxy fell into the trap a month before Rudy arrived. Rudy made the choice to go against man God's advice 1 month ago. I don't see the two as coincidence. In ither words, if Rudy had not used the teleportation circle, Roxy would have died, because Rudy would have taken 8+ months to get there. By that extention, if Rudy had never left, I suspect Roxy wouldn't have fallen into a trap in the first place. How could she? She was following teasers footsteps like everyone else. As for the rest, could they have found zenith with out Rudy? Who knows
Answers if you want to be spoiled . . . . . . Paul and Roxy would have survived if Rudeus didn’t go. Anime cut out an important scene of Rudeus on his way to Begaritt. Basically, Rudeus does something that prevents someone else from saving Roxy. That someone would also help Paul save zenith but it would have taken another year. However, Roxy would fall in love with that person instead of Rudeus.
