I've been saying this a while but: Sparkle catch phrase is "Why so serious?", and she likes to do riddles, her quest was Black Swan solving her riddles and this video was literally a really long riddle. She's literally Yoimiya and Hu Tao with the mentality of the Joker and the Riddler from BatMan combined.

I don't consider Sparkle so much a villain as the primary obstacle to seeking a golden ending: she really does want the "good guys" to win, she just wants it to hurt as much as possible while still counting as a win. Because that gives the story meaning.

Her whole character reminds me of the poetic of Pirandello, an Italian author that bases his whole writing on the concept of "masks" and "madness". Unfortunately to explain is difficult. @@nitanooo i feel like that was more reactionary to people going through some mental gimastics to portray her as extramely racist (i personally don't think she is, she is at worst rude and blunt, and doesn't care to avoid insulting people or to be tactful). The ammount of misinformation spread to feed that narrative is pretty baffling tbh. That aside i personally do not condone either side, people shouldn't have forced narratives to have something dumb to be mad about and go out of their way to harass people, and others shouldn't have reacted in an immature way either. All in all, this all comes down to twitter being the cesspool it usually is. I'm just sorry for voice actors being harassed and other sparkle enjoyers and artists being bashed for liking or making art of a fictional character they like.

You know, what you said about how Sparkle’s companion quest is already out really kind of exemplifies my biggest frustration with this game: they need to slow down character releases. They’re so good at making these extremely interesting and complex characters, but then they never give themselves time to develop them. They really need to give themselves time to cook rather than just rushing out as much product as possible. Quality matters!

Gotta be Aha the Elation, for a series with higher beings 'turning their gaze' onto mortals and empowering them, she's gotta have backing from the Aeon if in a time of seeming despair a Mask in the background gains eyes and looks at her.

I don’t know if there’s any other miraculous fans here but sparkle reminds me so much of Lila. This young innocent looking girl that is really just a manipulative, lying, mysterious asshole and you just know that they know stuff that they won’t ever just tells us and will make us work it out ourselves. The fact that every time we’ve met her she’s trying to trick people with disguises or create riddles for us to solve is just so enticing to me, I just want to find out what she knows. Also I just love her design and like style with the whole goldfish thing. And away from the lore stuff, she seems like she’ll actually be really good in game with her abilities to gain extra skill points. Definitely pull for me

Personally, I feel like the companion quest reinforces my idea that the REAL Sparkle is dead or incapacitated, and the Mask has taken over as Sparkle. When it says ,"when I realized life was just a play" it was the mask that had already taken over. The mask could be some sentient entity that was confined to the stage until Sparkle started using it.

We haven't seen a lot of the Masked Fools. We're almost sure Sampo is one. And there's Giovanni. But it's not surprising that they're a bit...untethered. And Sparkle being committed to the stage makes a lot of sense considering her dialogue in game so far. She is very dramatic, very performative. (I also think that HSR is leaning in to the fact that the universe is unpleasant. And we, the protagonist, are very likely unpleasant! I've gotta be honest, I was just as much of a shit to Aventurine as Sparkle was. I don't have to high ground)

Yep, if you watched Higurashi, everything when something bad happened a certain family claimed responsibility for it just to increase their influence. In reality, they were as clueless as the others. It might be something like that with Sparkle too. OR maybe, Sparkle and Robin have been working together because I believe her when she said that Robin doesn't live on Penacony. Basically Sparkle approached her with something like "I'm not cool with the things Sunday's been doing so let's work together to expose him." Something like that.

I am _so glad_ that I don't like Acheron. I like her character and I'm interested in her story but I don't feel the need to have her on my team which is great since she apparently needs 2 more Nihility characters on her team and my Kafka and Black Swan are on a team with each other and my Silver Wolf is already on my Mono-Quantum team. @@MoonIitStroll Fair enough, in my case I tried to fish one Black Swan but got Bailu instead, I would've paired Acheron with her and Silverwolf, still I got some options left, I now have a reason to star building my Pela (pardon my sins), and having a use for Welt still is pretty neat

Probably not a Xianzhou ship, since those are Chinese-themed and Sparkle and the planet shown looks more Japanese-themed

Sparkle is probably a more morally grey antagonist than an actual villain, and the people who are calling her racist are missing the fact that she's a masked fool, her whole thing is 'personal enjoyment' and she spouts all kinds of shit just to get a rise out of people, like what she said to Aventurine, I doubt she actually hates/cares about the Avgin's enough to be racist against them (Also not everything is a reference to a real world problem like some people on twitter think) And the fact that people need to clarify that they can like the character but dont agree with their actions is so fucked lol

Wait, is Sparkle Alpharius? Hydra Dominatus? I guess her actions are just as complicated and convoluted and in the end maybe pointless just like the Alpha Legion. (any 40k fans here?)
