Tears for Fears are an English pop rock band formed in 80's. Their 2 biggest hits are "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" & "Shout". They had other songs such as "Mad World", "Change", "Pale Shelter", "The Way You Are", "Mothers Talk", "Head Over Heels", "I Believe", "Sowing The Seeds Of Love", "Woman In Chains" etc.

Their album "Songs From The Big Chair" is one of the best albums of the 1980s. A complete work of art, every song is great, and the whole album works together better then any pop album in the decade.

Songs like this are why I love reaction videos. This song was so incredibly massive at the time that even though I loved it it was on constantly. You sort of lose sight of how great something is when you hear it on the radio or see it on MTV every five minutes, which was definitely the case with this song. I've always loved it but it sort of faded into a general "the 80s were great" fog. Especially as this is one of the ones that still gets played a lot now. It's very cool seeing someone hear it for the first time. It lets me hear it in a new way and realize how genuinely great this song is. Anyway Tears for Fears are a great band. My personal favorite from them was Head Over Heels.

Oh, this takes me right back to my 16 year-old self! I loved this band. Now you should react to "Shout". That one is actually my favorite song of theirs, but this is definitely right up there too. This album was MASSIVE! New Wave/Pop/ Techno was so popular in the 80's.

Been a favorite of mine since I was 12 when it was released and the video was in heavy rotation on MTV. The album was fire! On the cover, are the two members, Roland Orzabal on the left and Curt Smith on the right. Roland was on the guitar and backing vocals for this track, and Curt was on the main vocals. "Head Over Heels" and "Shout" are also great singles from the album.

I sometimes share this story when someone reacts to this song. In 1985, when this came out we did not have cable in the city yet, just the county, so I had to go to friend's house to view MTV. However, there was a show on Saturday night, Saturday Night Videos, that played music videos. I was in labor with my forever 32 year- old son and of course, with the opening lines being," welcome to your life, there's no turning back", well it was the perfect soundtrack for his birth! Plus, he was definitely the type of soul befitting of the song! Badman's Song live is a really awesome song and performance!

Album title came from the movie “Sybil”. It’s a reference to the chair Sybil (suffering with multiple personalities) would sit in at her therapist’s. One personality was a little girl and called it the “big chair” where she would sit and tell her stories. TFF took the name as their songs on the album were a confession of their feelings at the time.
