The victim was faking finding Roman coins and other artifacts to keep the dig going for some unknown purpose, and the blade was probably Egyptian and ornamental. It was melted down in the fire to destroy the evidence. From that we can deduce that it was probably Blinkhorn, angry at Sir Rodney's falsehoods, as he has a strong moral compass when it comes to archeology. Well that's my theory anyway.

particles in the air from when he was in the tomb... if the mummy was disturbed then something could have been released into the air and he unknowingly inhaled it.... that's what i'm thinking anyway... i'm not sure about the rotten food though...

I don't know the conclusion, but just putting it out there: How would you feel if you were the prime suspect of a murder, had been in contact with the mangled victim and during interrogation been lacking your medication - making you seem further suspicious? I'm actually surprised at how calm the rest of them are of there respective circumstances.

He doesn't know that he's the prime suspect, from what it sounds like they all hated the guy so I doubt he's still in shock, I was referring to what Sherlock had said about him overdosing and hallucinating because of it. You're right about that though, the others are suspiciously calm.

glerzhus oh.... tripping balls = on drugs. I forgot that one :P But didn't sherlock recognise that he was not overdosing, rather the opposite. That can create just as bad effects, btw

If the ring was fixed with silver then yes it would fall under soldering not welding because you can't really weld silver (to my knowledge as a welder by profession)

This game is all over the place with its understanding of how herbs are used, both for medication and pleasure. The amount of St. John's Wart that vial contained wouldn't be enough to cause hallucinations unless it was taken all in one go. A sprinkle in a person's tea or whatever wouldn't cause them to hallucinate the way the game suggests.
