Love this old school seeing the women ,wife’s bringing them back to stage absolutely brilliant I’ve had a couple of beers but this brings tears to my eyes , fun fun fun one life live it ❤️
I was born and raised just few miles from Fremont Drag Strip. Around 1962 my dad took me to my first drag race, he ran a 62 Galaxy 500 factory tuned car, ..I was 8 yrs old. I recall they used a Flag Man until around 1964 and I spent much of my life there. I was really bummed when they shut it all down in 1987 ..I still miss it. Thanks for the trip back to memory lane..
A flag man instead of a 'Christmas' tree...doesn't get much more nostalgic and exciting than that. The cars are fabulous, the racing is fabulous, the facility and the fans are fabulous, and of course the ladies are fabulous (and these are in no specific order!!). I would love to see more and more nostalgia races like this, as well as different categories if possible, and I would also like to convey my appreciation for this upload.
+Chevy Fan Thank you for the great feedback. You'll find a wide assortment of other nostalgia classes featured on the channel, and we will continue to cover and share some of the more unique events. Thanks again! Dawn and Mark
I hate to say it but Id rather see these guys instead of modern machines. In fact I'm setting up my old street gasser to join in the fun.Now I'm off to buy my winning lottery tickets to pay for it all.
GREAT VIDEO, BOY DOES THAT BRING BACK MEMORIES OF MY 327 FUEL INJECTED '55 CHEVY IN 1962. ONLY CAR IN THE WHOLE AREA THAT HAD FUEL INJECTION IN A FULL SIZE CAR. COMBO THAT WITH 4:56 REAR, NEVER LOST A RACE. TRUTH, I SWEAR
Wow, what crowd and what an event. Bader knows how to put on a show. The cars are so much cooler than the carbon fibre ProMods that pass for gassers out west.Is this the same group that is running eighth mile at the US Nationals this weekend
I was there in Newark,Ohio to see this. Growing up in Ohio there was always the debate who had the fastest AA?GS cars Ohio or California ? We knew what the answer was OHIO!!!
When. The Nation Anthem is sang hats off cars shut down in respect. I fought for this country and saw very little respect when the Nation Anthem was sang!!!!
LOL. There's more to racing than just driving my friend. Try leaving and getting a good enough reaction time while at the same time not going too early. Try tuning an engine to run a specific time consistently for a bracket class. Try having to shift at the perfect moment in order to win. And if that doesn't challenge you, check out the pros. I dare you to hop into the seat of an 11,000 horsepower Top Fuel Dragster and call driving it "easy." Try smoking the tires at 250+ mph and controlling the dragster well enough to win the race and not die. Drag racing is like building a tiny model ship inside a bottle and the blowing it up, all while being timed. And if that doesn't take skill, I have no idea what does.
They would do poorly in circuit racing, see... these are not circuit cars. They would do terrible in off-road mud racing as well.. And so would circuit cars because neither are off-road vehicles. each of these classes / categories requires a purpose built machine.
