ill never forget killing dark wizards in varrock and selling the runes to make 32k for a rune scim and then turning around and getting note swap tricked for a rune sword back in 2006. As a 10 year old it taught me a valuable lesson that I have to treat everyone like a greedy fuck and to trust nobody when they have the opportunity to gain over me.
Your post reminds me of my 'suite-mate' in college. I went into his room one day and saw him playing Runescape and asked what he was doing and said "scamming people" and i was so confused, i had never played and asked him how and he showed me this fake website he told me his friend had made and told me a whole bunch of other junk i barely remember. Dude was such a scumbag and went out drinking like every single night lol, barely went to class. this was like 2011.
All traders have been scammed at some point, myself included. Just don't make the same mistake again, be more vigilant when it comes to searching for sus things and always make sure you receive the money in a safe way FIRST before sending the trade.
the day my account with like 150+ games got hacked i felt empty as fuck dude, i was like 13, clicked on a link that looks like a steamcommunity look and bam, my GTA SA shut down and i was logged out from Steam, luckily i got my acc back after like 12 days
when i was 4-5 years old playing runescape, someone said if you type your password it will show as ****** and i fucking did it , i lost my account like 5 minutes later XD

I got scammed last week, he got my api key and took my £100 knife. I know its not alot but it really pissed me off as i was such an idoit to believe anything he said. TIP: If someone asks for you to go on discord, don't do it!
You can only decline trade offers with the API, so I assume he declined the legit one and sent you a fake that you accepted?(like when depositing on to a website) Sorry Im not trying to roll you or anything Im just curious on how this went down so we can all avoid it.
I remember I got into a call with this dude wanting to buy my ST FN karambit free hand I unboxed. I talked to him for like an hour just shooting the shit trying to see if he seemed trustworthy. He had a solid inventory and people on his friends list who were prominent traders so I believed him. I sent the knife feeling confident and dude immediately blocked and dipped from the call. Worst feeling ever but an expensive lesson I had to learn.
Dude i lost $700 back in 2016 not too long after getting an injury that caused really bad migraines and i was soo pissed that i legit dropped the game for awhile
I got scammed too for my knife. Man that feeling of total shock and just depression didn’t go away for few days but i got over it and i never fell for scams ever again. luckily it was just a cheap knife.
Everyone has to be went through this. I got scamed to when I was younger. It was a m4a1-a bright water fn. It looked like an transaction for me in the offer text so I was confused. I asked my friend and he sayed to me it was legit. The sad story at the end is, it was the friend of a friend who scamed me. Now I have 2 different friends since a few years and we play rarely at the weekend and mostly I play alone alone.
Back in the days I didn't know what a Trade API scam was. So that one guy contacted me and was ready to pay overprice. As I didn't trust him too much I said I'll create private Skinbaron sales for him so he could buy the skins from a legit website. Yeah, Trade API scam worked and I lost: -Deagle Printstream MW -Butterfly Slaughter MW -Butterfly Bright Water FN And some other skins as well.

I remember when I got scammed back in 2017. My inventory was worth maybe around 1500$ at the time (god knows how much itd be worth now). Back in the day I played alot of scrims with low tier esea/faceit teams. One day I got a message from a friend saying "Hey we need 1 more for this scrim just type this IP into console and youll be in, after trying that I said its not working, so he sent me a link. The link looked legit asf. Come to find out someone had hacked my friends account and baited me hard, even tho I had steam guard and 2fa and everything set up, he was able to get my login info from the link I clicked and traded my whole inventory to 10 different accounts within an hour.
i remember i was playing a pixelated game and i got scammed of an item i worked for and grinded for 100 hours, never believed ANYONE after that when they wanted to trade
only time i got scammed was when i was like 11 where this guy asked for all my cases for an emerald dragon and then he changed it to glock off world (I didn't know the worth of the skins back then) which i gladly accepted. I traded so much cases for a 50 cent off world skin bruh. edit: i was a f2p player and got prime for free when you can get it just by leveling up so I had no idea what those cases were worth because steam market was disabled
I've got scammed 8 years ago for a completed motion graphics project. It was about 300$. The guy who scammed me owned a small company that was producing assets for video editor/ motion graphics designers. Last year he died of testicular cancer. That was a weird feeling because, on one hand, I felt sorry for him and his wife, but on the other, I couldn't forget he scammed me.
im glad the first time i got scammed was only for like 5€, it wasn't enough for me to care but it was still by a pretty close friend so it taught me a lesson
Damn so true. I got scammed a year ago for like 700€. The guy had good english, showed me his twitch channel, said he got sponsored by big brands and everything. The fact that his twitch was kinda empty no vods and stuff was kinda weird but I was so greedy to sell I didn't care. Pretty dumb of me
If the site takes a seemingly meaningless fee like... let's say 5%... It's still 500 bucks for a 10k item. And if it takes 10%, 1000 dollars. That's a lot of money to just throw away.
damn every video about a scammer has so many comments of people being scammed. Kinda blows my mind a bit how often it happens. Don't be hasty folks and trust ur gut and no one else. Even if it takes u a bit to manufacture a safe trade or sale, just take your time and dont leave anything to trust. I guess we are talking about people who know cases are shit, yet still open them. Strange mental phenomenon where the fantasy of what could be overrides your logical thinking.

years ago you could get the item back, and people would exploit the guidelines by duping items, which is why some people call howl's and certain high tier items 'dupes'
"Oh yes hello, this dude stole these pixels from me that cost 10k". You sent the trade, you gave him the item. It isn't stealing, it's scamming, but that's illegal too so... Maybe less illegal.
there is something very new like from today where some1 is trying to bait you to go on a site that is like here get a free case by navi, then it will ask you to login with steam and it will try to steal your steam account "Som Collins" thats the name of the yt channel trying to get you on that site by doing shorts
in my trading career (from like 2014 to like late 2017, first TF2 and later CSGO) I got 'scammed' twice. one time because I didn't know any better and the second time because I trusted some people I met online and played with for a year. There is details to both stories, and it's always a learning opportunity. I have been at the other end of some unfair transaction as well, like people sending empty trade offers. Or sharking newcomers that were as young as me
for real there a lot of people that will act friendly for years and at the moment they can make an extra buck they f you over greed is the only thing for a lot of people
@@tonyt5711 He did. But he refunded his money with Paypal. Because to Paypal it just seemed like a "normal cash from one account to another" thing, so refunding was allowed.

I don't feel bad for people that get scammed. CS:GO scams been out for a while and you can't be this stupid to not use your head in realize. Maybe something is too good not to be true
People use multiple methods. they say alot of times we do at the same time !. You go first ,its alot of money for me ! I got scammed so many times dont do that bro ! Bro look i already got the money there ... I cant refund the money after giving it to you . look my rep ! i have higher rep you go first . And many more ... Never got scammed on steam ,but alot of people think the other person is cool so they trust ...^^
I bought some clothes from reddit, payed with paypal f&f and got scammed. Showed paypal all the proof and i got my money back. So yes you can def get your money back
