Don’t know if it’s a money racket but ATVs are not allowed on the roads in Ruidoso. I have a paved road plate and UTVs are allowed but not ATVs. So why do they sell the plates for ATVs then? Worth less laws! And why do some places have the ordinance and not others?

How is it that Arizona manages to allow this with their vastly bigger road system? And if tires truly are an issue how is it that big lifted trucks can get very aggressive tread tires? Or drag slicks are allowed that literally rip pavement out of the ground? This is such a backwards way of looking at this and unfortunately is just making it to where people are riding these vehicles on streets without proper safety trainer or inspections. Be smart about it. Require vehicles be road legal and potentially have a safety course, then allow them to be driven on public roads

What a joke. The wardens and Rangers can't be happy about having to micro manage every ohv they encounter. Go track down poachers and leave us riders in peace. The vast majority of us just want to enjoy the wilderness without worrying being harassed for riding safely on a paved road, God forbid. Should we go buy 50cc scooters instead, since they aren't a hazard going 25 mph in a 50? But somehow that's safe and LEGAL. My four wheel ohv with plates going the speed limit is a hazard though. 😂😂😂 What a joke this state's laws has become. Welcome to the NEW new mexico.

Michigan SOS Law TR54 ALLOWS utv to become street legal including State highway travelif you complete Law TR54. ITS TIME CONSUMING; REQUIRES MUCH MONEY; BASICALLY UTV EQUIPMENT IS BEING REPLACED WITH DOT APPROVED ROAD EQUIPMENT. NUMBER OF INSPECTIONS REQUIRED;
