We had an oil leak in this ML320 Diesel. Oil was leaking down the transmission bell housing, but it wasn't in the rocker cover gaskets. It We found that the oil cooler and seals often fail in these cars. Access is very difficult, takes a good 10 hours. But you don't need to a hoist and you can do it with the car on the ground. Its an advanced job .Good luck.
