When the engine is off all the engine oil sits in the sump. So no need to drain the oil. I didn’t ever find a better way, there should be somewhere close to the ground in the cooling circuit you can drain all the coolant into a container. If your coolant has been flushed recently, that’d be the way forward. My coolant hadn’t been changed in years so I didn’t mind putting in some new fluid. Good luck! You will need to remove your middle under tray for access.

@@ChromeFlakes Thanks for the upload my f10 has recently suffered this fate. After draining the coolant did you have any gush out of the housing when you removed it? Just curious for the sake of prep work. Also did you install the gasket dry or did you apply any lube to the gromets? Some folk do that. Cheers mate :).

@@chrisgermann6658 I didn’t drain the coolant first. I just removed the housing with a drain pan underneath the car and left the coolant drain from there. I only did it this way as it was easier and I wasn’t bothered about the coolant becoming contaminated as I was renewing it anyway. I would only expect a few drips if you drain the coolant first. I didn’t lube up the gasket and I haven’t had any leaks, but it wouldn’t hurt. Best of luck.

@@ChromeFlakes cheers dude im dreading this job. I previously had to replace my valve cover and gasket and they required the common rail and injectors to be removed. What a pain these cars can be.
