I have to commend you on that beyond top notch customer service. It's almost unheard of to see a company completely take care of a customers error, well done! Also, I just plug the PVC back there and run a breather/catch can for the blow-by.
I will never forget back in 1997 or 98 doing my Edelbrock performer intake... I forgot to install the plate that goes below the PCV valve... that car smoked like crazy lol... I got lucky a shop called Bothers Performance back then asked me if I installed the plate... I didn't even buy it from them but they were nice enough to give me some tech advice.. Back when you could reach someone on a phone.
@@PeeterPuncher it does but it's a bandaid. The pcv system was designed from the factory and works very well when properly setup. Problem is most people don't properly set them up the way they were designed which then causes problems. We've successfully ran 450whp na setups with the factory style pcv system.
I'm surprised how much black soot gets on the ACT. Also at full throttle the vapor enters before the throttle body.😳 Every little bit helps keep that oil vapor out of the runners and off of the valves.👍
@@hotrodray6802 Older GM cars all had a disposable container that had a sponge in it inline with the pcv system hose. It was supposed to be replaced every oil change but people and shops would just replace them with a straight peice of hose. Pretty much all of these cars have been modified to the point the oem things and peices are long gone. I've torn apart fox body Mustangs that had 20,000 original miles on them and their intakes had zero oil in it. Then seen some that needed a 55 gallon drum as a catch can 😅. We get tons of manifolds sent to use and some have no oil in them and some look worse than the one in the video 😅🤣🤣
I remembered back in 97 i had a HCI foxbody. Eldelbrock performer rpm. I took the plenum off for that inner bolt. Always a puddle of oil even wth screen. Catch can baby. Listen to these guys people, they kno what they are talking about
If you have to use a catch can on a hci na setup with a screen and a properly working pcv valve then you had excessive guide clearance, bad or worn valve seals or excessive blow by. A properly working pcv setup and running motor will not need a catch can unless under a lot of boost. If they did they would gave came from the factory that way. I've built over 100 engines and touched well over 7,500 parts and even brand new heads can have major issues. The Holley Systemax heads and Edelbrock performer heads were notorious for burning oil. Cars that blow the dip stick out have excessive blow by which is caused by something being worn or not setup correctly. You'd be surprised of all the people that build stuff wrong then blame the parts lol. I've seen a whole lot of crazy things lol
Mine has the screen and still gets oil in it. Pretty much figured out it's coming from the oil fill neck vacuum hose to the tb because I have no baffle in my stock valve cover so to clear my 1.7 roller rockers. It's always something! Originally I thought it was that screen as it was not there but I put one in and tho much less I'm still getting oil.
@@bigdogsportingtonyb2833 I got 1 just haven't got to putting it on yet! Lol.. I'll do that o er the winter here in Northern Indiana. It'll be parked in a few weeks and getting all the interior stripped out for a roll bar and supercharger install so it'll be the perfect time.
Tony....Tony....Tony, oil in the combustion chamber decreases the octane rating. This contamination causes low and high speed detonation. It's deadly to high compression and boosted applications, and still very harmful to N/A combinations.
I hear ya Tony. It’s basically a catch can built in the intake. That’s what these cans use. I also agree if you’re pcv is functioning properly with all the factory parts no need for catch can unless forced induction or worn rings seals etc…
