Today let's do a quick study of a winter wonderland scene in the Scottish Highlands! To avoid being too limited by the colours and light in a reference photo, I'm going completely rogue today and am painting from my imagination. Still, I have one particular place in mind - the Quiraing in winter!
Doing quick studies before delving into a larger scale painting is really helpful to get your composition and colours right.
