I love Oingo Boingo. I am so lucky to have seen a Halloween show in Irvine! I worked at Danny Elfman's house trimming his trees, in Southern California. I met him briefly, I wish it could have been longer. I KNOW WHERE HE LIVES...(I WILL NEVER TELL). LOL
KInda strange this song was used in a Home Alone movie. It's about people's insecurities and how the only place they feel really safe is in their own home. Danny Elfman's lyrics are much deeper than most people give him credit for.
I think it’s perfect. The running theme in those movies is about a kid that builds the courage to take on adult criminals to protect his home. The outside world can be scary for kids, but home is often where they feel most safe. Here’s a quote from Alex in the movie that he says to his pet before setting the traps. "I'm not gonna cry or feel sad or scared. They're grown ups and they're criminals, but this is my neighbourhood and this is my house. And no matter how old they are, no matter how big they are, they can't beat me here. They can't beat me at home."
@@_soups Well put, I like how you included the quote which always resonated with me. On a side note, this movie gets more hate than it deserves but I loved it.
I have had search for this song 06 yeas on net! I have found on the last week! OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! I CAN'T WAIT TO LISTEN IN THE HIGH VOLUME!
Not sure where you live but I just saw Oingo Boingo Dance Party that has about 5 former members playing behind a new singer that does a great job. They play around Southern California at least 6 times a year. Really good and brings back great memories.
I saw them at Irvine Meadows Amphitheater in Orange county, Ca. for Halloween 8 years in a row, they are my favorite, all time band, love ALL their stuff!I'm and
I have this CD and in the liner notes it doesn’t identify who wrote this song. Was it a collaboration between all the members of the band? Or was it written by Danny Elfman?
This song was in Home Alone 3? BLASPHEMY!!!!! This sounds too good and seems totally out of place in that kind of movie. With that complaint aside, I like this song. It feels like it belongs in some indie film about shut-ins and oddballs.
A few years back when I searched for Oingo tunes, I could never find them. I'm happy to see that has changed...... because... they were so awesome!! Please guys go back on tour !!
@ultimatesanction Thanks. Glad to know someone agrees with me on this. But what I should have put was "It feels like it belongs in some indie film about shut-ins, oddballs, and those who either desire to fit in or long for the peace, safety, and comfort of the good old days of their youth and/or childhood." There. Now that's sounds more befitting when describing a song like this.
i got all the home alones accept number 4 but ive seen it and dont want it its shit home alones make me feel class funny and brillaint brings me back to the 90's
Does anybody know if this song was in the movie wisdom or Home Alone 3.... I have heard it it was, but I just don't believe it...WTF? Find a movie discussion website! if you would spend more time listening to music and less time watching mindless dribble you'd be surprised how much happier you would be!!!
This song is different from the Oingo Boingo - Boingo version. I have the tape from `87, and it is not the same. What is this version really from? The soundtrack to Home Alone 3? Sounds like it. Anyone have the REAL album version?
@9JAJAJAHAHAHA6 I think it's because the kid was left alone because he had to be, not because the family neglected him. And the actors were much better in 3.
Ah brings me back to my childhood when my Dad played Oingo Boingo in the car when he drove me to school. Loved this song ever since! PS:Home Alone 3 sucked. I was a little pissed when I heard Oingo Boingo in it. This song is much deeper than that!
