@@rothec5294ok I’m new to magic why does both of these cards not work in Ojer. My brain sees this and says it should buff all instances of that 1 damage, so why does it not work.
Basically the damage instance is counted only once for each player instead of each land. If opponents have 8 lands each for example and Axonil’s power is pumped up to 14, it will deal 14 damage total to each of these players. However, If they control 6 lands each and Axonil has 4 power, only 6 damage will be dealt at once. I hope it’s clear. English isn’t really my first language so apologies, lol
@@Iguanazilla69 I mean fair but also using her you can run cards that you normally would never play like brash taunter and stuffy doll, and wouldn’t need to target opponents stuff if they don’t have anything
I love that card. But, I've already pulled it out of my Axonil deck. If you're heavy into stax, it would be great. If you're running more of a storm build, its just too slow from my experience.
I brewed along the same lines as you except I added CHEAP buff spells all red buff spells that can be cast for R or for free because dealing damage for buffing is hilarious to me. Oh and treasures, and spells you can recast and wheels.
I have a Purphoros, God of the Forge deck where I'm going to move him to the 99 and use Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might as my new commander. I have Solphim, Mayhem Dominus in this deck too.
Purphoros is all about creatures coming into play where ojer is based on buffing him up with cheap equipment and burning with cheap burn spells. You basically have to dismantle the entire Purphoros deck.
@ennan6028 Not really. My version of Ojer uses the same summoning creature engine, goblins. So Impact tremor, Purphoros, still do some work. I use a few copy spells like Twinferno and Repeated Reverberation to have more goblins or more burn. Where mine differs from most is I use Tarrian's Soulcleaver on Ojer to buff him when my goblins die. One main damage engine is Cavalcade of Calamity, Raid Bombardment, Goblin Bombarment. So I can declare attacks, sacrifice my goblin, buff Ojer, do massive damage.
I wash testing an Ojer deck last night and managed a turn 4 all opponent kill if they dony remove him. I am worried it may be a bit over the top for my play group but it looks so fun!
I'm pretty sure Acidic Soil reads deals x damage , where x equals the amount of land each player controls. From what I've read, it isn't separate instances.
no problem, still a sweet deck tech and I am using a lot from your base. Look forward to building it. Might also copy your Indominus Rex deck tech@@PubStompMTG
@@PubStompMTG This makes me really sad. I have a Torbran deck that obviously shares a lot of DNA with a potential Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might deck. been brewing around this idea for a few days and Acidic soil was defiantly the biggest "holy shit" card I had not yet considered.
I've built this as well, trying to push it to be cEDH. Really leand into the punishing effects, running stuff like Spellshock and Pyrostatic Pillar and Harsh Mentor.
Fiery emancipation is a replacemeng effect. Say, for example, you deal 1 damage to someone with Ojer on the battlefield. Fiery emancipation will trigger first dealing 3 damage. With Ojers' effect, it will always make 1 damage into its power. Kinda pointless imo for what the deck is trying to do
Livaan doesn't go towards the commanders gameplan of doing non-combat damage. Grapeshot is in the list and fiery confluence is too high cmc for my liking to play
