For those who don't know, all the unique intros that involve taking/dealing damage and distance advantage/disadvantage are story mode gimmicks as handicaps for certain fights to reflect the interaction the characters had before the fight started. Unique intros that keep you in default position and health exist and are the ones you see in every other match that's not from story mode.
@@sevianusluciano325 Stuns are decently common on certain characters. Robo Ky can stun you off of standing K in the corner. You could be at full health, but if he has meter, you're eating a 50/50 that could lead into IK
I feel like instant kills should come back, they are a staple of arc sys, and have them be in an "unlimited Mars" style gamemode that powers up all the characters.
@@LucidButtonMasher I’d be fine if they weren’t exactly combo-able but still land able in very specific situations. Since damage is so high it wouldn’t exactly feel out of place that way imo.
That's why I feel like keeping it able to combo into for very very small circumstances while making it not invulnerable I think would be pretty interesting. Probably would have to pop into instant kill form before the combo anyway so it's not very common
Real talk using the UI to convey cutscene narrative is awesome and I wish more games did it. Slayer just letting sol combo him for fun in a cutscene is the funniest shit.
I was almost killing Slayer, but he landed a special attack and recovered more than half of his total health. In the next try, I landed my first "DESTROY".
These intro exclusive moves can be found in the EX variation of the same character. Slayer tor example is a gatling character with the best Rekka system in fighting game history.
@@LucidButtonMasher About Faust vs May intro, May has Peladophobia (fear of bald people.) Throughout Guilty Gear history before Xrd, May developed a spidey sense toward these people (Faust particularly.) and always proactively avoid them.
Man do I miss these. And EX/shadow/gold characters. And instant kills. Don’t get me wrong, I love Strive, but I feel like they almost went a little too far in trying to reboot the series. Also thanks for doing this, I’ve been looking for a compilation of these intros for a while now. Plus I dig your sense of humor.
Makes me remeber the intro from X2, where Faust flies away with his umbrella like in his victory animation, only for Dizzy (or rather Necro) to snipe him out with 2nd part of her overdrive.
As annoying as some of the bosses were, and as unreasonable some of the ending contidions were, I really miss it when there were actual playable fights in my fighting game story mode.
@@LucidButtonMasher unfair battles can still be cool, specially when you do got an instant kill button, honestly the only thing i'd rather never come back is the obscure ways to win like with how to get the good ending you have to finish one specific battle in one specific way in at least 3 different stories.
watching this now, the Intros of this game is something wonderful kk,I remember the classic Sol vs Ky, and I saw one of Zato x Slayer,Intros in FG is Amazing dood,:3,I saw a channel here on YT doing an opening Fanmade for Strive,
It's time for the kizzie Kay tech. Give strive a year to see how good this game gets. There is definitely a lot missing that could make it more fun to play but especially watch. Maybe the second story will add a new mechanic? Maybe the end of the season pass brings back a legacy mechanic? Idk I can only hope. Since it looks like it's on the path of the SfV model (just much quicker with it's updates)
Most of baiken intros of her messing up her opponent's which was already funny and disrespectful but she also has one for justice to and I'm like stop your already bad@$$
I want these to return in Strive, But could they add these in and still have the "Heaven or Hell" walking up section? Maybe asking for both is too much, but that doesn't mean I don't want both of them
The story bosses can be absolute pain to fight against, and Slayer is the worst defender of all of them but damn if I'm not glad R+ was my first GG game.
@@LucidButtonMasher The best part is that you can unlock the Boss ver. of all character and EX variation for all except Kliff and Justice. You can use them in ARCADE (except for Gold Arcade), Vs and Team battle. There are actually 3 type of arcade mode. Regular Arcade, EX Arcade and Gold aka boss ver. arcade.
@@LucidButtonMasher I'm telling you. XX reload and AC+ or +R has a VERY RICH single player content. The Survival mode in AC+ is like an RPG which was what Abyss mode in BBCS was based on. Very fun since you can build your character with the boss character ability.
Yeah Strive intros really suck, most of the characters just walk on stage or appear with mediocre at best flair. There's only a few like Pot, INo and HC that even have remote flavour to them. Love the game but that's one minor aspect it's pale in, wish they would've given it a bit more style/personality like Fighterz has.
