They really captured his feelings and mental state, I find. His sadness at the ice smothering his home land, the desire to be the hero to kill off those monsters, being ready to sacrifice himself for everyone's safety (and maybe go down in history for it); even the realization that he'd been selfish, and his willingness to make up for it later.
That's why Oki is my favorite character, he doesn't know how to save his homeland, and is willing to do everything in his power to save it. Oki is the Real Hero of the North
@@ironicmedic3912 I think all of the oina tribe are heroes, theres not one of them that weren't needed in order to save Kamui. Oki with kutone slaying Lechku and Nechku. Kai leading Amaterasu and Issun through Yoshpet Lika performing the incantation to make Ezofuji erupt. Old man Kemu teaching Lika the incantation because he's too old. Samickle saving Kemu from Lechku and Nechku. The oina tribe are a unit, a family, and that's portrayed so well in the aftermath of Kamui's story. All of them are needed. Oki finally realizes that hes only one slice of the cake and while he certainly is the strongest warrior of them, he alone cannot do it. This is why Kamui is my favorite region in Nippon. The music, characters and story is the best in the game.
Shiranui's one tough wolf. He went into the future to help Amaterasu defeat Nechku, only to get impaled by Lechku after saving Oki. Then he back in time to throw himself in front of the boulder that almost killed Nagi. THEN he sacrifices himself to save Chibiterasu, finally dying shortly after. Between all of this, not once did he have time to heal. So it takes being impaled by a demon's wand and getting smashed by TWO giant boulders/meteors before Shiranui finally succumbs to his wounds.
This is my favorite song from okami now it is just beautiful, fearful, and for some reason it makes me go to sleep easier! And love both of those pictures!
I can run through the great forests and over mountains and over the vast oceans and across the vast deserts with this music playing cause it..to me...sounds like an awesome traveling song and also a fighting song as well. and at the end I would howl while standing on top of my defeated opponent as victorious.
I loved okami ever since it came out for the ps2 I bought it one time to try it out after its been out for a year or two and I absolutely loved it. I'm 17 and still play this game I play it a lot now that it came out for the ps3 I love everything about Okami it was a fun game just wish they would make another one, I love everything about this game, the storyline, the characters you meet, the funny and sad moments, the boss battles, and the graphics. Even though I beat the game is till play it.
Okami was a stepping stool in gaming. it proved you didnt have to have the best Graphics. sound track.(oh but the sound track sis close to the best in game history.) it showed us all what a game truly needed. It's touched you. every time you saved some one, brought life back, and even save the world. You felt like you did something. you went through the hard ships. and in the end. your glade you had a chance to play the game. To okami! For leaving a paw print in all of our hearts!
I've never played the original, but Okamiden is becoming one of my favorite games of all time now that I finally got my hands on it. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it that much.
I like how in this game defeating the Two Devil Twins was an joint effort of Amaterasu and Okikurmi - not some bullshit cutscene like he did "something", got knock out and we need to do the rest, becouse developers were to lazy to add another model to run around the battlefield and not trying to kill us at the same time.
@terryandcarol1 actually Shiranui's Death had nothing to do with the clockwork ice tree thing. when they had time stopped and Lechku was about to kill Oki Shiranui knocked him out of the way getting his own heroic ass impaled by Lechku's cane-like-thing
No, it was Lechku or Nechku. Because this music plays when you talk to the warrior who destroys them while you're hunting them down. I assume it was the one you beat up with Shiranui (don't remember which, and don't really care right now).
Shiranui IS Amaterasu. Kamiki called Amaterasu Shiranui because they didnt know she was a god. They even said in OKamiden (Sorry for spoilers) after Shirnauis death that it was Amaterasu.
Akuma Oni That's kind of a tough one. It doesn't pertain much to her appearance in game, but it does work kind of symbolically: Shiranui is an optical illusion caused by atmospheric conditions, which appeared as a distant fiery blaze, sort of like St. Elmo's Fire. One of the historical supernatural explanations for them was that they were the remnants of Amaterasu's (remember, chiefly represented as being a kind of sun goddess) power after the sun had gone down. This works, since Shiranui was Amaterasu. The question I find more interesting is that if Ammy is a girl dog, then why does she pee like a boy dog? ;_; lol
bloodmoon0011 That's really cool. I love old Japanese stories. They're odd sometimes but really pretty exciting. Amaterasu is also represented by a mirror (her first weapon in the game and one of the three Imperial Regalia of Japan) since in the old Japanese tales, she hid in a cave because she was upset, which made the sun vanish. A mirror was used to trick her into thinking that the sun had risen, thus coaxing her out of the cave so she could see what was happening and then really make the sun rise. I did think the raised leg was funny too at first. I've since seen my family's female dog lift her leg to urinate on a bush a couple times, so I think female canines only lift their legs sometimes to mark territory just like male dogs. Maybe since Amaterasu's sex is supposed to be ambiguous they just threw in the raised-leg pee for fun.
She's a goddess in a wolfs body but not of another gender, I don't see why another female couldn't be impressed by anothers "assets' plus she is the "mother to us all" and she also gave birth and I don't think males can do that.
It's true what you're saying about maturity. But I think that this game just falls short of the cut off point so it should be okay for Smash. Remember that characters like Ike, Marth and Samus are in Smash.
I can't really explain, in MvC3, she fights against gods, super heroes, and Capcom universe, it's more "mature". I have the same feeling about Megaman in Brawl, the classic one will be okay, but not the X one, it's not the same kind of universe. After, It's just a matter of opinion.
I'd prefer this as the smash: First, the smash is activated. All movement stops and the screen becomes gray. The brush appears on screen and draws a circle. Movement resumes and color returns, and the sun is in the background for the smash duration. So after all that setting up is done, Amaterasu takes on the appearance of Shiranui as in the Yami battle and is invincible. :D
just a reminder, when you saw the blind ghost after getting all the warrior dog beads,(cant remember actual name for them) Amaterasu was seen as the maiden purest of all, and i dont know how many maidens out there are male
I'm fairly sure that they were replying (although indirectly) to the conversation going on about the genders of Amaterasu and Shiranui, and that by saying that "I don't know how many maidens out there are male," they meant that she must be female if she was called a maiden.
Amaterasu is a female, yes. She is Shiranui reborn, which also makes Shiranui female as well. Capcom just decided to screw over with Okami and change a bunch of it up for Okamiden, and now nothing makes sense anymore. In Okamiden, supposedly, Shiranui is Chibiterasu's 'grandfather'. That alone, doesn't even make sense, aside from the gender. Shiranui wasn't related to Amaterasu through generation and blood, she WAS Shiranui. Stupid Capcom... (Continuing in one more part)
i wonder in the game isshaku says he is the fifth or sixth of the celestial envoys so they should make a game that explains the origins of the celestial envoys
I wish I could color that well. :C (my line art is almost there...) but alas, I am only 12. ;~; how long did it take you to be this good? what level were you at when you were my age? :O sorry so many un related questions, I just want to know. ^^" hehe..
played pokemon while listening to this pokemon was never this epic! played animal crossing while listening to this. animal crossing+ okami music= EPIC!
Every time I listen to song I get on the verge of tears. Because the song is beautiful and because I remember the game I love so much and the scene where Shiranui get hurt.
What makes you so positive that her wolf forme is male? Shiranui was also in the form of a wolf, and she was female. Seeing as she's Amaterasu's former life. Aside from that, Issun calls her 'she' on many occasions. Taking the other gods into account, they're all instant divine beings. How can you be so sure, that in this story, the Goddess of the sun isn't the 'dog' zodiac from the beginning? The zodiac animals are on a divine level on their own from the start. Even historically.
Possibly the only game were you play as a wolf were Wolfaboos don't make a gigantic fanbase. ...And this is the best, and possibly only good, wolf game.
I want Amaterasu to be in this game with Shiranui as her Final Smash, and Issun appearing as a taunt and part of her "Shiranui transformation" sequence. Also he sometimes appears when she wins.
Many people say that shes a male because she pees with one leg, um that would be pretty darn hard to get a demon fang if she squatted and ive seen male dogs squat and female dogs lift there legs, and about the busty babe she probably never seen big boobs like that before and female wolves are usually smaller than males and Ammy is smaller than Oki and about the same size as that deer wolf, but if this game was latin based Ammy wouldve been a male but no its japanese based so shes a female
I know it, don't worry x), but it's a mix up that couldn't fit, the artistic direction, her powers (she is a god after all), i really can't imagine an Okami level in smash bros. To me, Okami is one of the best game ever made, and i don't want to see this game in every type of game. I think i'm stubborn, but i don't care x).
Amaterasu is a goddess. A God shouldn't have any sort of sexual orientation, because being a divine being, they lack that human trait. If anything, I would believe that Amaterasu would take both genders into account, which could lead up to that scene where she's so... focused on her large breasts. ...Plus, I don't quite see how ANYONE could just ignore those... ~♥ Man, Beast, OR Divine being!
Shiranui isn't exactly female. There's just no good way of saying that in english besides "it", which would seem like you reduce the worth of Amaterasu. They have a lot more ways to speak about her in japanese than in english. She is simply refered as she since it's easier for everyone and they call her "mother of all that is good" anyway. Which again, doesn't exactly mean she's female, but rather the god of everything good.
amaterasu is shiranui's descendant and shiranui is male as for amaterasu shes female she made birth to chibiterasu (which is just adorible :3) which is a male... so from the look of things... the next in line is also a female
In the context of the game Amaterasu isn't female. Only in the english version (and thanks to that everywhere else) she is, since there's no good way of describing her otherwise. Officially, she's a genderless god.
What do you mean none of them would fit? If Ammy can be put into MvC, she can easily be put into this. Plus, if Nintendo can find a way to make Zelda and Peach work, then Ammy should be no problem at all.
