It’s a play on words as well. In Japanese, the word for crowd is “hitogomi”. “Hito”means people, while “gomi” means crowded, but can also mean trash. It’s a nice detail because a child her age would likely misinterpret the meaning of the word.
@@chilldishh Yo bro, I'm pretty sure the Steins;Gate guy said this line too. That's one of the hardest anime to translate because it uses a lot of Japanese net slang and parodies. As I recall, “All your base are belong to us” was used frequently, but it's a bit of a waste.
The scene that absolutely stole my heart was Yor apologizing because Loid got her more clothing than just the one dress and rather than initially say it's about the mission or about the test or about appearances, our man first says "Well, you look nice in colors besides red and black." Sir. _Sir._ That is your wife! _Carry on._
A word of warning, you have to be patient with the relationship. This is more a found family story than a rom-com, although there are plenty of romance elements sprinkled along the way. I've seen other reactors to the show get somewhat disappointed because there weren't confessions of love by episode 10. Having said that this is easily in my top-5 shows of the last five years.
Spy x Family does an amazing job making the audience fall in love with the Forger family. Each character is great individually, but seeing them interact and genuinely come to love each other as a family is so infectious and brings such joy.
Anya can't do crowds because shes a telepath. Its a pretty classic Telepath weakness (especially young/new telepaths), they can read minds but they can't really turn it off and on very well. So when you get a crowd of people, especially a rowdy one like that, they are completely overwhelmed by all the voices bombbarding thier brain.
20:45 it's just "Yor". They pronounce it as "Yoru" because in Japanese, her name would be written and pronounced as "Yo-ru", but for us English speakers, it's just "Yor"
The odd thing about that is that, in Japanese, "Yoru" means something like "dark" or "war" if I'm remember right, so her name is "Yor Briar" meaning "dark thorn" or "war thorn", which also comes close to "war torn", a phrase with a lot of relevance to this story and her in particular.
It'a fun that you're watching Spy x Family and Frieren at the same time. One video will be "This was so good! It gets you in the feels, and I laughed my guts out!"; and the next will be "This was so good! It gets you in the feels, and I sobbed my way through a whole box of tissues!". Gods, Spy x Family is cuteness on steroids. I remember being sold on it the second I heard the premise, but actually watching the show was something else ❤ You bring up a good point about them getting in a relationship. Since Loid is spying for his home country and Yor assassinates the enemies of hers, the two of them getting together for real would be.....dicey. There's so many juicy ways it could play out, with their personal beliefs and loyalties, as well as the threat of their employers finding out about their partners identities, which could prove to be very dangerous. This anime is stacked so full with fantastic plot points and comedy!
Since you are also watching Frieren... the voice actress for Anya is the same for Frieren. There's been a few times that Frieren will have the same facial expressions that Anya does.
FYI..in this era...spy & assassin are two different things...so obviously Loid & Yor are from two different team/organization (you could say that)...the important....which part Anya originally....or could it be she on the third party....?
Spy x Family is THE comfort anime . I will die on this hill, then run the fade with both God and Satan to revive me just so I can have the honor of dying at that hill again.
As for why loid can cook, the guide book said he had a job to infiltrate a 5 star resturaunt as a chef. He CAN cook. He weakness is hand to hand combat though. The song playing while anya shows yor around is called " housework" and is on the spyxfamily ost on youtube.
Nah it's clear that Loid is really good at close combat but there is a different between good and being a monster like Yor, In terms of combat technique I think Loid is superior to Yor but her absurd strenght and speed overwhelm anyone.
Well, Loid should be quite proficient in hand to hand as well, however, it doesn't have to be his specialty. He's a spy first of all, he needs to master a wide range of skills, also including stealth, negotiation, acting abilities etc. It's just that he isn't solely a pro killer (though he definitely can fight and kill). Unlike Yor, who has been trained in this field since childhood.
10:25 There's steam coming from the top of Yor's head, this is just a way to show the viewer that her head is "overworking" like a steam engine or kettle, and she has trouble fully understanding what she's thinking/seeing. Something like that.

I love the show’s character relationships. Can’t wait for the interview. And I just love Yor, despite being deadly she is a great mother. Anya is funny and a cutie. And Loid is husband material and a softie but also badass. The perfect fake/found family! Looking forward to future reactions of ‘Spy x Family’
Kind of perfect analogy of a typical family. What kid, telepathic or not, not get stress out at a crowd of angry people at political rally. I mean think kids at there age kinda perceptive, Anya is just turn up perceptive to 11. Yor the very caring of Anya and very supportive of her husband, getting the family envoled with community. Lloyd now having to care about his new family trying to provide the best for them, and then stressing over things in silence to not worry his family.
Pronouncing it "Yor" is fine. Yor is not a Japanese name. Yoru is the Japanese way to pronounce her name, but since it's not a Japanese name there is no need to pronouce it the Japanese way.
Well, we don't really know the agenda of the organisation she takes her orders from. They do *not* seem affiliated with the government. Her targets seem to mainly be corrupt politicians and businessmen, or other bad people in some position of authority, not agents from the West, as far as I've read at least. And I won't say the exact mission she got in season 2, because spoilers, but it really seemed to be actively *against* the government. So I'm not sure that Loid and Yor would be actively working against each other. Loid and *Yuri*, on the other hand... Which would still be an issue for Yor. And Loid, Twilight, or whatever his real name is, must eventually have to choose between his job as a spy and the family. The first episode shows clearly that he has played the loving man many times, only to dump his companion by the wayside once the mission is over. Tatsuya Endo himself has apparently gone out to remind the readers that Loid and Yor are *not* nice people. Between them, they must have killed hundreds.
@@Yngvarfo we have to also remind ourselves that this family is different yo loid for some reason, I guess because it's the first time that he has played the "loving husban and father role" judging by his reactions to the mission, and how he is so relaxed than he hasn't noticed how anya is a telepath or how yor kills people for a living, and he IS the best spy, so for him not to notice must meam something
