has kj johnson ever failed that mount (beam)? like fallen backwards ? i cant even imagine how hard that is lol seems so much risk to fall god damn shes so strong lol
just in the second rotation right now and i can def see some of the hometown advantage showing thru BUT i'm all for it lmao LSU could use the morale boost. so great to see tori in the lineup!!! she freaking killed it
I also think her bars was over scored, she had multiple leg separations throughout the routine. I would buy a 9.90 or even a 9.925, but imo a 9.95 was too high.
I agree. I’m a big Ragan Stan but I was shocked when I saw her score. I think Oklahoma is overscored a lot. This meet could have been much closer had the scoring been fair between the two sides
That was a great meet and much closer than I expected. Some of the scores i really dont understand and there is no way that LSU was better than OU on bars but however: I'm glad both teams had a good competition :)
Oklahoma and LSU are two phenomenal programs. They have such talented, hard working young women and both universities choose amazing leotards. Thanks for sharing!
I really thought OU was gonna completely obliterate LSU but that truly was not the case! this was a great meet to watch, good job to both teams finishing strong
I'm glad they changed Reagan Smith's choreograph the last 2 years. Her freshman and sophomore years didn't match her personality and she obviously didn't feel comfortable with it. Last year and this year have been so much better. This was a good match. LSU always struggles at the beginning of the season but I like watching them progress during the season.
I was looking for a comment questioning Tatum’s inflated score, especially when comparing to pretty much anyone on OU’s bar team. I genuinely thought she would be penalized almost to the same degree as hitting the feet on the low bar (-.5), what with the leg separation on flight skills, short handstands, and multiple form breaks.
Jay Clark needs to go. His decision making is terrible and he has no idea how to pace a team properly. I have no idea why he put Kiya Johnson in the floor lineup during the meet against Kentucky last week. I also don't get why the coaching staff did not give Kiya a two-pass floor exercise. If anyone needed a two-pass routine, it is Kiya.
I'm sad to see Kiya out this season too, but Kiya's injury was a ticking time bomb ready to go off, she started college with the issue. She and the team managed it pretty well, getting her to senior year before the inevitable happened.
Kiya definitely only needs a two-pass floor routine. She’s such an incredible gymnast but the girl has been babying her achilles for years and it finally blew out. Now her season is over, poor girl. KJ has been performing well but her scores have been getting wiped the most it seems. She seems to be off her game a bit this season. It’s still early but she seems to be struggling doing 3 events right now.
can someone plz explains how the scoring system works in NCAA gymnastics cause why does haleigh Bryant score of 9.900 only improves the overall team score by 0.75?
It's an average. You average the scores lower scores put more pressure on the higher scores until after the final gymnast when the lowest score is dropped.
To find the scariest coach in sports, look for the fittest college gymnastics team, year in and year out. If you can beat the freshman 15, you can beat anything.
Does anyone else get bad vibes from OU. Not trying to be a hater I just get some weird vibes from coaches and athletes. Very serious not seemingly very excited
