This game was so FREAKING GREAT!!! Texas just got whooped in the trenches and Gilbert got OWNED! And the icing on the cake... Texas didn't even go to a bowl game at the end of the year. OOOhhhh how sweet it is.
@HolaKyle I can remind you if you'd like. Bob Stoops is now 7-5 against Mack and Mack is now 6-8 against OU including a loss he suffered when he was the head coach at North Carolina.

@s1xr1ngs Trust me, I was severely disapointed that the BCS put UConn in the Fiesta Bowl. It really took away from our glory of winning BCS games agian. But, we pretty much proved after that game that UConn shouldn't have been there. And at least no one can say we choke any more. Really wish it had been Michigan St. though. I think that would have been a great match up. And I hope Texas does get better, because if they get worse, Ohh boy will it get ugly.
@HolaKyle you should make a freshman highlight video. You could basically make one of just the Texas game alone. Jefferson, Stills and Wort were sick in this game.
Omg all those throws by Gilbert in the flat were so god damn frustrating. I almost forgot about all that crap. I hated it so much. I know he struggled a lot that year and they were trying to protect him but he was talented with a huge arm. I would have rather lost at least trying to air it out opposed to going east/west every damn play and losing yards.
You said "IS the only thing that really maters when you're talk about which is the better team" .... NO. Stats don't lie , records are set by the great for the great to break. That is like saying , well Matt Forte is the bears best RB because the last 10 years are the ONLY thing that matter lol guess Walter P. can just get shit on huh? History is there to keep the records in which TEXAS has been the better team between the 2 programs , maybe not the best that year but better than OU 58-41-5
@OUfootballAuthority Where was AP from again? How about Rhett Bomar? how about travis lewis? where are your two top recruits from in 2011? How about your top two in 2008 Jermie Calhoun and RJ Washington? Where are all those people from? Where are a little over a third of your starters from? oh yeah thats right Texas. Though i will give you that Ryan Broyles Gerald McCoy and Sam Bradford are from Oklahoma.
@Revovor Yea, to bad nearly ALL the starters at OU are from states other than Texas. Texas does a great job though of only recruiting in it's own state and no where else and then choking the entire season.
@HolaKyle Yeah I remember Sam having to leave the game last year after Texas Deliberately and intentionally re-injured Sam's shoulder, but it's all cool now Colt McCoy is rotting in Cleveland(waste of a good QB if you ask me), and Sam Bradford is the starting QB for the St. Louis Rams, so it all worked out.
@MrClarkman13 OU didn't win this game by luck. We throttled Texas for 3 quarters and only in the 4th did Texas catch some breaks and get some points. And what makes you really think Texas will be any better in 2011? Texas fell apart in 2010 and now they replaced half their coaches. There is no consistancy in their program and the players are not living up to expectations. A fluke is to lose a couple games. Not lose to teams like UCLA, Baylor, or Iowa State.
That last play of the game couldn't have put a bigger burden on a Longhorn player than Aaron Williams. He deserved it for trying to intentionally put Bradford out of the game in 09 RRR.
Don't sleep on Texas , OU might have won the last 2 but Texas has so much young talent its not even funny. Texas will step up and make it a better game next year 2012! Texas has 4 National Champion ships and if McCoy hadn't got hurt Texas might have 5. Red River Shootout complete history goes to Texas at 58 - 41 - 5. For the best progam OU sure does have and Achilles Heel vs Texas
@RyDawg918 I have to say this is the best OU team I've ever seen.Especially on D.Texas won't be sucking any balls mind you.Texas will at least get a bowl game this year.But all I can do is tip my hat to OU.As much as I hate too.OU smoked us this year.Hopefully the experience will help vs OSU.OU is a well oiled machine,All I can say is if OU ends up playing an SEC team please don't choke this time.Hook EM
The reason you are saying "In the past 10 years ( which in my opinion is the only thing that matters ) OU is winning the series 6 to 4" Is because either you have really only kept up with the RED RIVER SHOOTOUT for 10 years or don't really wanna look at the History ( 58 - 41 - 5 ) to see how bad OU is really losing the series. It would take OU 17 straight wins to just to TIE the series. However OU has won 6 0f 10 and each time they beat Texas they took the BIG 12! Atleast we both beat NEBRASKA

I love the irony when Texas fans say Mobilhoma. Maybe if they were smart enough to look up housing and crime statistics, they'd see that Oklahoma has one of the lowest percentages of mobile homes compared to the rest of the country. And they'd notice that Texas has a much higher crime rate than Oklahoma. Especially pertaining to drugs. But don't take my word for it, just ask the Texas football players.
@ivngrfs What about all the other teams that go into the big game and lose? Why don't you go bother them and tell them they choke. EX: Ohio State vs Florida. I'd rather play in the big game then not play in it at all. Take that SEC bullshit and go somewhere else
