Sort of. Most people actually don't sing it the same way that it's written, though. Including them. Almost every cast seems to have yet another *different* group of accents. Weird. I like them a lot anyway, though. At least these ones didn't sound like Texas. Nothing against Texas but it is in fact a completely different state from Oklahoma. Just saying.
The 1955 movie was probably one of the ones that came closest to doing the accents the way that the accents are written instead of some other way. Although there are a lot of things that I really like better about the 1998 stage revival. They do the acting really *really* well and then the accents somewhat less well. One can't have everything. They did *remarkably* well with the accents considering that this is the London cast and that Hugh Jackman is Australian. 😍
@@julistarling8382Yeah, I'm from Central Oklahoma (Mulhall), and heard no Texan accents in this. Oklahoma accents can vary noticeably. I've asked people where they're from, thinking they were out of staters, and they informed me they lived in Oklahoma and not from moving from anywhere else. Esp. if they were closer to the Texas or Arkansas border. I love the Texan accent. ❤
Try to imagine during 1998, when a time traveler leans toward you & says that in 2 years from now this man will be Wolverine in the X-Men movie, you'd giggle maliciously & prolly never believe him. 😎👍
