@@theshillneckedlizard8364 ..oh, that’s so nice to know. A lot of celebs these days do the whole fake niceness thing, but I always believed (hoped) Hugh was genuine. I’m so jealous you’ve seen him in real life . 🤗🇬🇧
I saw Ashton Kutcher on one of the late night shows years ago when he was still doing Punk'd and he commented that they decided to punk Hugh and that he, Ashton, just felt bad about it later because Hugh is just such a nice and trusting and kind person that it was like being mean to a puppy 😊
@@mythical_jelly345 Actually, besides even the instance he references in this video, he's been in quite a few stage musicals and screen adaptations before GS, including Oklahoma!, Les Mis, Carousel, The Boy from Oz, Sunset Blvd, and more. He's actually been singing for about as long as I've been alive, I think 😂
As an Australian, I find it weird hearing him speak in an American accent! Don't forget he was a star here for years before moving to the US, we were so used to his broad Sydney accent!
The typical insecure reaction would be to hate or at least envy Jackman, but he's so likable you simply enjoy his performance because he is having so much fun it's contagious.
Hugh Jackman is legendary and most certainly a diamond in the rough. I think the only actor who is theoretically on Hugh Jackman's level is Robert Downy Jr.
I know folks won't agree with me on this, but after researching his history with musicals, I like him more on stage than in movies. Don't get me wrong, he's an amazing actor. But after realizing how much he adores being in musicals and seeing his face light up when he's doing so, I can't help but wish he'd do it more, because it makes him so happy. :)
I agree. I have heard a about the les mis production and it sounds like absolute hell on wheels, but even in the greatest showman i sometimes wondered about him sounding a bit constricted. but here? Flawless execution, nice timbre, very relaxed shoulder and neck... not sure if he just needs the Adrenaline of the stage and it just doesn't work as well in a studio, but he does definitly sound better live
@@saiyasha848 yeah, musicals are a completely different ball of wax when comparing movies to stage performances. Plus, the songs are dubbed over in post, so it'll never sound like a live stage performance. Even though Hugh absolutely loved doing The Greatest Showman since it was partly his idea, he was definitely confined to a studio. On stage, he can belt it in front of hundreds of people and he loves that. The issue with le miz is that it was all done in one shot, no cuts. So the actors were under a lot of pressure. While that definitely mimics a live performance, the majority of actors weren't accustomed to that environment, so I can only imagine the stress they were under, including Hugh, who was used to live performances.
@@MidnightSonnet The thing that is way worse with Les Mis is that it was done in one cut - but on one shot. As in, if the dirctor wasn't haoppy with the shot, they had to do the whole song again. And again. And again. That is just...brutal, because it has to sound genuiny _every single time_ you don't get a "just skim it a bit for practice" version, just full songs in hardcore mode, over and over.
Live action frozen he can be Hans. Or maybe have him be the prince from snow white but make him more fledged out and obviously age them up a bit so it's not creepy or just a whole new character where it revolves around him. Iv always loved the idea of a Disney Prince movie that had a similar formula as a Princess one.
@@genesisshuler7288 I was thinking Eugene as well but they'd have to age then up and I feel like that one should stay closer to there characters ages but yeah I can totally see him seeing iv got a dream lol
@@Darkfir13 True true they'd have to age them up. Oooh what about a Disney villains like Pitch Black from Rise of the Guardians? I can definitely see Hugh as Hades too! So many roles fit him from hero to villain perfectly!
'You don't get to stay married for 23 years without being good at saying know to that'. I love how he said that line instead of just no. It shows more of what he is like as a person and that he values his partner.
I saw a lot of comments saying they wish he played Gaston instead or that he wouldve been perfect and I agree with you all... until I realized that if Hugh played Gaston, I would be rooting for him instead of the beast and figured that the only reason he didnt get the role is because Gaston is supposed to be the villain and an unlikeable character and its hard to dislike Hugh Jackman. Like cmon.
Or maybe he could have like a solo movie. I mean technically Gaston wasnt really that bad. He thought he was being the hero of the town by killing a beast
@@mikeolgo5532 we made a Cruella movie... We need a proper Gaston Movie with Hugh. Although by the end of it most girls will be saying Belle must have had rocks in her head to turn him down.
Well, Maleficent and Cruella are villains, but Disney makes them their own Movie, so they got our Sympathy. I guess we'll have Jafar, Ursula, Scar or Gaston movie in the future
I would love to see him be a bad guy Pan docent count because not a lot of people saw it and I heard it's bad I want to see him be a bad guy in a good movie
No one sings like Jackman Is a king like Jackman No one fights on screen as Wolverine like Jackman When on stage he's so charming and entertaining How can you not love Jackman?
This is so confusing to me, because...I absolutely love Hugh Jackman, and he’s doing such a great job at acting and performing this character, that is suppose to be unlikeable. But..he’s making me like Gaston, because...Hugh Jackman. 💜
I got to see this show in St. Paul. It was literally just watching Hugh have the time of his life on stage and we were invited to watch. It was so much fun and the man is WAY too talented. I love him!
I was lucky enough to see Hugh Jackman in The Boy From Oz on B'Way in December 2003. I had NO CLUE who he was at the time, as I WAS NOT into superhero movies AKA the X-men. I wanted to see the show because I remembered seeing Peter Allen sing and dance on the Merv Griffin show in the early 70s. When Jackman walked on stage, I remember thinking to myself, "Who is this GORGEOUS man?" (I always bring my binoculars to shows!) I became an instant fan, as Jackman and the show were GREAT!!! I'll always remember seeing him in person! He's a theater TRIPLE THREAT and GORGEOUS for sure!!!
I saw Hugh in Melbourne in beauty & the beast and fell in love with him on sight the moment he took to the stage and sang this song I melted and have had a special place in my heart ever since. Deb is a very lucky lady.
My mum was actually in a musical in highschool with Hugh Jackman and she said that even then he was good and so nice. They didn't interact much because he was much older than her but he always had a smile to give to everyone.
He actually nailed it! I love when actors do more than just adapt like “pretend to use a knife to chop vegetables” and you can tell they’ve never learned how to chop properly... he learned how to sing and have that stage confidence ^.^ what a talented actor!
I took my 3 year old to see beauty and the beast in Melbourne, didn't know Hugh but I still remember it has one of the best plays I've ever been too...he was a star!!!
are you saying, we could have him instead of Luke Evans? he was good, really, I liked him ... but I mean,... I mean... I want the remake of a remake with Hugh, now, please.
I am pretty sure Hugh meant that he auditioned for the Broadway show, not the recent Disney movie. So no, it's not like he was rivaling with Evans for the part
The thing is that Luke, as adorable as he is, has the possibility of playing an annoying Gaston. Hugh, on the other hand, is unhateable. You just love him. ❤
So this would be great casting because we as an audience can feel what the towns people feel. Gaston is amazingly perfect, good looking, loved by all, etc. But he's narcissistic and we as outsiders know that and therefore don't like him. But place in someone that people love. And now we're cursing Belle for daring to turn him down like the 3 Mary Sues in the show. The Australian Broadway did good
I love watching Gaston meet guests at Disney World on RU-vid. He is a scream. If I ever get to go to Disney World, the first place I'm going is the Gaston line.
I bet that if they picked him to play Gaston in the live version movie, he would probably return to his old Wolverine physique. Luke Evans did well in the movie, just that I'm kinda expecting Gaston will be more muscular like in the animated movie.
Right? Luke is handsome, but it's not in the way Gaston is. Not to mention the costumes had him completely covered up. It made no sense for the character.
@@andrew_asmr309 it does for the time period. Even a brawny manly man would be fully clothed back then. They wouldnt be busting out of their clothes or something else unrealistic.
@@TerranTaro Well, you just exposed (one of) the biggest problems with that film. It tries to be realistic... despite the fact that one of his leads is a human beast who lives in a castle filled with talking and moving furniture. So... yeah...
Lord have mercy. He and Jeff Goldblum...my hubby goals.

Hugh Jackman was always one of my fav person and actors in Hollywood 'starSystem'. I do really like this guy and feel like he is a friend. No gossip. No crazyness. No maniac. He and the Rock are absolutely my favourite guys. Feel I know them and even they are famous and seems havibg everything they do really have humilty and cozyness and fun to enjoy Simple Life like simple persons. Chapeau 💁🏻♀️🐱🙏🐞🤗
The Beauty and the Beast Musical in Melbourne that he mentioned was one of my first live musicals as a little girl and I was besotted with Gaston after that. I still have the program and every now and then pull it down to reminisce over the glossy photos of young Hugh Jackman in costume, wing and makeup. He was incredible and still is.
He's just fantastic. I remembering watching him in the play Oklahoma! and was trying to figure out how he could be Wolverine and Curly. Of course I came to the conclusion that it's because, he's Hugh Jackman 💖. 😎👍🏻
my school just did beauty and the beast for the school production and our gaston dance looks like a ghetto version of hugh's😂 kudos to whoever choreographed that whole dance!!
