#1 Oklahoma vs #5 Florida State in a top 5 early season match up. OU wins it 23 to 13 with a touchdown in the 4th quarter and an interception that leads to a field goal for the 10 point lead.
As a FSU fan that was at this game. This was my favorite losing game I’ve ever been to. I think Doak Campbell Stadium was the most packed it’s ever been and though FSU was #5 they were not a top 5 team, maybe top 15, and OU was wayyy better than being ranked #1, this OU team was like an NFL caliber college team. The fact FSU gave competition was incredible.
Thanks, but the point of this video was to show the highlights of the entire game, not just one team. I was trying to make a video for people that may have missed the game and wanted to see all the major highlights. Thank you for the suggestion though.
I was also at this game but I would pick 1989 FSU-Miami as having the loudest crowd ever. However, what made this game stand out was how long and how loud the cheers kept coming...especially when OU was playing in the shadow of its endzone and the punter struggled to get his kick off because of the noise. THAT was an ear buster! Watching the game again, I still say Kenny Shaw scored a TD that the refs waived off. The ball didn't come out of his hands until he hit the turf way past the goal line.
@@TheDrRJP I went back and watched that moment frame by frame, but it's not a touchdown. He loses the ball before the ball crosses the line while he's in the air, at least from the angle presented. If you look at it frame by frame, you can see Javon Harris (OU #30) knocked it out of his arms while he was in the process of falling. I can definitely see why you would think it didn't pop out of his arms until after he hit the ground, though, because it really looks that way if the video is just playing as normal.
I know it was our only touchdown of the game but that was the loudest I have ever screamed at a game. Watch out for Rashad Greene #80, a true freshman. Next year.....we will be LOADED!!
Well as a OU fan i think OU would win again. But i give props to FSU who played a hell of a game and proved they were worthy of being in the Top 5. I think they will be back in the top 5 by seasons end and playing in a BCS bowl as the ACC champs. Good luck vs Clemson
I will never understand how some people have to be flaming assholes and make a really retarded comment like this ELEVEN YEARS LATER! If this schmuck had a working brain cell, he'd know that (1) EJ deserved to be a 1st round pick for what he did on the field and (2) lots of great college QB's never made it in the NFL, smh.
here's a tip, when it's a big game like this, show all of the highlights. great game, hope to see you guys again soon. had a great tim in norman, and a great time when you lot came to tally.
Charles Surber Bama tried.. Nobody would play them. In 2012 they reached out to Oregon, Oklahoma State, and Notre Dame for a home and home series.. All declined stating interference with traditional games.. this would be for the 2015 year... They would end up meeting and whipping ND for the National Championship.. Coincidence??
@redtop91 Your judging it by the line that espn makes on the field. Never go by that line. Its not accurate and the commentators even say that. He is clearly onsides. He is lined up just barely onsides just like every other D line in football.
1:08 One of the 10+ times that night that FSU DE's were offsides. Also, I'd appreciate it if FSU would stop sucking it up like they always do. Beating you at home was supposed to make us look good and you're messing that up by losing to trash like Wake Forest.
