It’s where the ball goes over the plate not where it hits the glove, that’s a strike and it’s called dealing In baseball terms, that’s where the ball just clips the edges of the plate, and that’s what happens here. There used to be a black stripe on the edges of the plate and pitchers that hit those stripes were dealing.
