American rapper Russell Tyrone Jones, better known by a myriad of other names such as Osirus, Ason Unique, Big Baby Jesus and Ol’ Dirty Bastard or ODB, was born on November 15, 1968 in Brooklyn, New York. His most famous stage name was derived from the ‘80s Chinese martial arts film An Old Kung Fu Master also called Ol’ Dirty & The Bastard.

If Dirty had taken a vacation to get his focus back after he got out of jail, he still would be alive today. He didn't need to come back to the Wu with all of the infighting that was going on at that time. RZA knew this. He just doesn't want to admit it.

ODB did it before Kanye (interrupting a mediocre white lady onstage). #Neverforget In all seriousness dude definitely had psychosis which was made worse by his stay in prison, where he was taunted and abused by guards. Stimulants make schizophrenia and other types of psychotic disorders worse and you can see how he degenerated mentally in interviews over the years due to cocaine use. He tried to get clean but fans wanted that "crazy ODB character" so he tried to live up to it. The entertainment industry is no place for addicts or the mentally ill. It's too demanding.

I love his voice. I've always loved what ppl call "rough and rugged" sounding artists. ODB, Melvin Franklin, and Young Dolph all have wonderful sounds. Trippie Red, Tyler the Creator, and Method Man have great voices too. I just don't listen to their music as much. It's a shame ODB passed so early on. Really sad, especially for his children & family.
