From 1939 to 1945 the UK built 1,156 Naval ships. Germany build 954 Japan built 589 Italy built 327 The Soviet Union built 161 During the same time period the US built 8.812 ships. While also building 297,000 aircraft, 193,000 artillery pieces, 86,000 tanks and two million trucks. Making up two thirds of the entire allied military equipment. It should also be noted that the atomic bomb ended the Pacific front, the war in Western Europe had already ended before the nuke entered the scene.

That movie footage he used was from “Hacksaw Ridge”. It’s just a few years old and a very good movie.

Yes, it's amazing! The war scenes are very brutal and it's a movie that makes grown men cry, but Desmond's story is so inspirational

Leonides was 60 when he and his Spartans stood agaisnt the Persians. Just because the old pf today are weak and sad, doesn't mean that an old guy couldn't body a young kid.

Fat Electrician has made winding Angry Cops up a professional hobby. Everytime he does it he giggles like a school girl and it's funny as hell. I've watched him do it on AC's live streams twice so far. My grandfather fought alongside them on Okinawa, he was in the 2nd battalion 4th Marine Regiment, formerly the 4th Battalion of the 1st Regiment Marine Raiders. The fighting on Okinawa was hellacious. Family story is that it took grandpa over a year to walk home to NJ from California where he was discharged in 46. Till the day he died he never allowed anything japanese made in his house.

The USA was isolationist pre ww2 we wanted no part of world affairs and politics that is the one of the reason Japan thought they could hit us once really hard do a bunch of damage and the USA would just stay out of it and leave them alone

Could you imagine if we ended up using bat bombs and keeping the nukes secret instead?

The only reason why the 77th guys used their bayonets on the Japanese was because all of them were fathers and their families had much to lose without them. Old and and treachery simply meant with refined age and experience comes the way to play mind games and play "unfair" against the younger generation.

"Weird" fact. There was a Japanese man who was present for both atomic bomb drops and survived both. He survived Hiroshima and then fled to nagasaki just for the second bomb to drop
@darkamora5123

There were a number of those...Nagasaki was where many of the survivors of Hiroshima were taken to be treated for their injuries. He was just the only one officially recognized by the Japanese government to represent all of them.

Hi...US public opinion towards the war did not stay the same from 1939 to 1941 as Fat Electrician describes at 8:58...Gallup polling data proves that it shifted sharply towards favoring US entry into the war by November 1941. FDR's ability to get the draft passed in September 1940 and then Lend Lease in March of 1941 tracks with the US public's shift of attitude towards doing more and more to help defeat Germany, even at the risk of being forced to actually get into the war. By November of 1941, 68 percent of Americans said it was more important for Germany to be defeated than it was for the US to stay out of the war...sources for this data are readily available on the web. Also...TIK did a great video on why Bitchler had to declare war on the USA that you really should watch. Short version is that Germany already had "touched the boats" by sinking US merchants and warships in the Atlantic, and Germany needed to touch a LOT more of them if they were to have any chance to defeat the British or the Soviets...or anyone else for that matter.

The angels of death. No one understood just how dangerous nukes were gonna be, but to ruin centuries of a cultural identity just proves how different it changed the world.

Yep, came to say this. People at all ages now are much softer than their same aged counterparts of that era, mostly because they just came out of the great depression and they were never overweight like people now.
