Homeboy industries has been helping out vatos in El Paso for a very long time. This man's vision of helping out lost Chicanos reaches very far across this country. God bless him and all those that look for change. And never forget the the lost. Jesus hung out with all the outcasts in society, he used them to change the world.
God bless this man really helping out the Raza and trying to get em to a better place...if people didn't just see us as animals and at least tried to understand us and treat us as a human being instead of looking down at us we wouldnt be the way we are..at the end of the day the people at top expect us to fail like it's in our nature they expect us to get locked up and start these wars in the streets....change can happen...change takes time... just like this man it only takes one to influence many...

Growing up in the projects in the 80s-00s....I remember seeing him riding his bike in the middle of the night in the projects...and I remember when he first started Homeboy Industry in his little office.
I'm 43...Its 2018. I remember Father Boyle coming to our parish in South Central Los Angeles. That was 23 years ago. He wanted and was pro youth programs in the hood.
This was filmed in late 1991 and aired in early '92. I posted a copy a couple years ago too, Father Greg is awesome for being a rare leftist priest who's like a real Christian
Even though this was in the 90s father greg was around in the 80.. in the aliso village projects and the other project's around there... father greg was much respected... but it took him a while to earn that respect. I remember in late 80s we use to swim and eat lunch at pican park right across the steet from the church. There were so many gangs... Primera flats... Cuatro flats... east la dukes... TMC... Clarence street... east coast crips.... and all these gangs within walking distance from each other man it was a hell of a place to grow up ... now that i reflect on it... but at the time it was normal.
Had my sisters quince mass and her father and uncles funeral all in dolores church, got emotional seeing it in such old footage, so much has happened there😢
I can't believe that law enforcement wants him to give information about these intelligent people gangster's are intelligent they are not stupid and they do know how to work but I'm glad he doesn't we need more people like him God bless you father Boyle
Damn!! Father Boyl was only 37 back then.. people looking older back then, what the hell is in our water!!! cuz now people looking younger these days..
Greg did look like an older dude even back then (like 55 or so). It could be because he's Irish who don't tend to age as well. There's 37 year olds now who look and seem mid 20s still lol
In this video he is the same age as me. My first thought was. Is it me who looks young or does this guy look like a grandpa? People do really look younger these days. Exercise and healthy diet really helps to stay fresh.
What poverty and broken homes create. I lived in the pj’ since 1971. I grew up in the heart of this era. These kids on this segment became enemies with each other. As a member if the community if was appalling to encounter gangs but it was the norm. Many of the kids are either dead, prison, and even became productive citizens.
He’s just one of many ambassador of GOD, that’s putting in work. Where some …..others, just go to the suburbs and ,…. And so call feel a deed has been done
God bless this man he is awesome for helping these kids. my question is what about the parents it's like they just have them and forget to raise them . if the parents are not gona be involve take care or love them then why have kids in the first place..
He’s helping out the kids stay out of trouble and out of jail yet the cops want the priest to tell them. All they goin to do is put them in jail. Priest wants there lives changed, not living live in jail..
This episode is from 1988 Father greg was a huge inspiration too many homies in the hood Yes spend much time sharing and giving unselfishly and unconditionally He saw a need to help the youngsters to see another day Father or father G it's still alive in Southern California Los Angeles area He is 77 years old And every now and then he likes to go to the old neighborhood that has changed so much do the gentrification Is it true icon legend in the Barrio vario And if you stuck around to read this whole thing that I typed out It's actually made up and I don't even have no idea what I'm talking about with Father Greg😂😮 Although this is definitely in the 80s or early 90s given the starter jacket and the types of clothing and Lokes maybe more close to the late 80s Hope some homeboys got out Eseeee
Involvement in gangs is just so cheap. It's like the most bottom part of society. These are people who rebel against the system, usually those who are vindictive and blaming society for how their lives turned out that for most part, were out of their own doings. It's safe to assume that those they could fool into it, have similar mindsets. They've been reduced to just that, when they could be more. What a waste!
You know, it's envogue to bash Christians these days. But dudes like that Father Boyle - That's what the love of Jesus, as I understand it, is supposed to look like.
idk why there fighting each other on the streets because when they get locked up and head to prison they gotta get along there main Big Rivals are the Nortenos (LA familia.Nuestra Familia.Nuestra Raza.Northern Structure)
I want to plant this seed in my Gentes fertile ground. Mi Raza Es Primero! If your bold and outspoken and not timid, go and become a public politician, movie actor or music artist, but stay away from gangster rap and corridos. Latinos need to get into legit legal Businesses, either start your own business or get paid for running someone's business. One big help is to increase your vocabulary, learn to be articulate and speak eloquent. We need our strong raza gente to get in positive callings, maybe even become religious Pastores. All these careers I've mention are easy money makers. To my Norteno Carnales, the hardest work I have ever done was working in the fields. I was cutting asparagus, it was so tuff, I decided to quit once the Asparagus Season was over and I decided to get my G.E.D. I welcome Nortenos to come to Southern, California to get into Hollywood. We need more Hispanic Actors, because we are Under Represented. Nortenos come make music in Hollywood, but no gangster or corrido music. We need to get rid of our anger. To get rid of our anger issues we must learn to forgive those that have hurt us. Even if they dont say"Im sorry", we still must forgive them, including ourselves. We need to get rid of our anger, shame and guilt. Stop being a "Disgrace to our Race. Stop Brown on Brown Violence. Let's become loving role models to our little ones. Stop the violence, trauma and hurt. YHVH Hebrew Sun God. YHVH, Hebrew Sun God. Let's get ready for the Day of YHVH. Come let us rebuild Yahs Temple.
I had a Jesuit education, and those Brothers are not your average priest. They are usually tough as hell and choose warzones to work in. If he were to tell the cops, he would loose trust and couldnt do the work he feels is divine.
